While I was in Louisville, I discovered this grocery store. Overall, I was really impressed on what's featured into this little store. They got additional parking in the back too. Plenty of aisles of all the great health food items that I would like to find at my normal health food store back home. They got a small apparel section where you can find cool items and other goods from around the local area. Clean restrooms and store ! They have a great hot food section that's made to order. Great clearance section. This store has everything essential I need!

Medium sized health food markets are not common in Kentucky, but I managed to find this one on the outskirts of Louisville. Apparently this is the original but there are other locations. This is definitely on the expensive side, even compared to your various big box upscale grocers. What I can say is that their sale items were really on sale; not so much 10% off but sometimes half or more. Check expiration dates and such of course, but I did feel like there were some deals to be had. There were certainly plenty of quality and interesting products. The non-food element was a substantial part of the store, with an abundance of supplements and personal care products. The vegetables were few in quantity and organic, and a little salad bowl restaurant sat at the front of the store. Not sure it could really function as a primary grocer for me, but if you spread yourself around and are hunting for specific items here, you can probably find something good.

Rainbow Blossom is such a special Louisville market. I stopped in over the weekend when I was in St. Matthews. It had been a few years since I was last there, and I found a good selection of groceries plus health products and even some fashion and home items. Some areas where Rainbow Blossom excels:* A well curated produce section. You'll find organic varieties of staples, like tomatoes, lettuce, potatoes and more, along with more rare finds, like more exotic mushrooms. * A good selection of meat alternatives.* Large stock of gluten-free pasta.* Fun and not-too-unhealthy snack foods. * Vitamins and other health products. Rainbow Blossom also has its own CSA, an in-house smoothie counter (Blossom Bar) and a grocery points program like you'd find at other grocery stores.

A decent little specialty market, very neat and clean, laid out in such a way that you can really navigate the space. Farmers market outside on Sundays starting in May. However, the day I was there it was too early in the season and the vendors had very little to offer.I do have one bone to pick though, I bought a clamshell package of what was supposed to be an "arugula mix". It was $5.99, I get it home and it is literally all lettuce with two tiny leaves of arugula on top. Kind of shady. Won't be buying that again

Until trying the St. Matthews location on Lexington, I had avoided going to Rainbow Blossom due to my previous experiences at another location. I am typically not someone who enjoys grocery shopping, but truly enjoy the St. Matthews Rainbow Blossom location.I have food sensitivities and some of the foods I like can only be purchase locally at Rainbow Blossom as others stores do not carry the items I need. The moment I walked into the St. Matthews location, I was greeted by an employee, then just a few steps into the store another employee asked if they could assist me in finding anything in particular. As I strolled the aisles, I must say I like the aesthetic of this store much better than the other location I used to patronize. I also found a wider variety of items which interest me.During my stroll through the store, several more employees asked if I needed assistance and all were very pleasant and seemed genuine.I found brands and items I never knew existed. One in particular being a Gluten-free bread that is delicious! If you've ever had to venture away from gluten and try to locate a gluten-free bread that actually tastes and has similar texture as bread with gluten, you will understand the struggle. Most gluten-free bread has an odd texture and off flavor, but not the one I found at this location. It is 'Ener-G Select Sourdough White Deli-Style Bread''. It is gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and soy-free. It does not need refrigeration until the vacuum seal is broken. At any rate, this is my new store! The produce is always fresh and local and what I can't get directly at my farmer's market, I now get from this store.

I love Rainbow Blossom! They have an awesome selection of natural, organic, and local products. The stores are always clean, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. This St. Matthews location is great! Most recently I have been working with this store once a week for grocery donation pick-up, to deliver fresh produce to the west end of Louisville. They have been really great, and really helpful, during the pick-up/loading process. Their store associates always come out and help us load our cars, which is very much appreciated! If you're looking for an awesome place for natural, organic, or local groceries, drinks, or toiletries, this Rainbow Blossom is definitely the place to shop!

I have been going to Rainbow Blossom for over 20 years, so obviously I have a soft spot for it. As one of Louisville's first natural foods store, it definitely deserves its place among the best groceries in town. They have a smoothie/juice bar inside and whether you want a sweet treat bag get a fruit smoothie or a jolt of nutrients from a fresh juice, they have you covered. There are tons of single healthy drinks - more kombucha than you can imagine. The produce section is fresh and full of interesting options, many of which are local. The frozen food section, refrigerator section and pantry aisles are well stocked and always have what you might need. About half of the store is gifts, bath and body products and essential oils - and this is where I end up spending waaaay too much money when I come in here. But it's a great spot to find last minute gifts for nearly all occasions.

I don't go to Rainbow Blossom much, but I should. They've got lots of options for those of us with allergies or food intolerances. They also sell natural products, clothing, etc.I'm not sure how their prices compare with Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, but the vibe here feels very different. Much more earthy and natural.LIFEBar is located in here, so if you want a soft serve or smoothie, treat yourself!Staff was really nice and accessible if you need help. They also have free popcorn by the entrance. They've got two gender neutral bathrooms.Parking is at the front, back, or side of the building.

Just a reminder to do your due diligence when shopping... I recently purchased a package of Palo Santo, assuming it would be less expensive than the "by the stick" purchase price, and quite simply - I was wrong. In fact, by the stick was .99 and the pack of 6 pieces was $6.99. My mistake for assuming, but just wanted to put this out there as buyer be conscious.

I come home once a year from California and pay way too much for a smoothie here. It tastes good. The reason I'm writing however is my disappointment with how loud the refrigerator compressor is next to the juice bar workers. For three years now, the jaw grinding compressor noise pushes upwards of 80 decibels. You can make up claims that it isn't too loud, but anyone who walks in your store knows otherwise. It's wrong, and I imagine the owner wouldn't want to work at the smoothie bar all day. Moreover, it is not difficult to notice the exhaustion and mental anguish of your employees who must endure a non-stop grinding sound. It isn't just the loudness. It's a sound that sounds kind of like "the most annoying sound in the world" from Dumb and Dumber.Be a kind and responsible business owner and fix the compressor. More simply -- do the right thing and you'll be respected for it.
