R & S Salvage Groceries

Stopped on way through to get some doughnuts. It was about 5 miles off the freeway, so it's a bit out of the way. However the baked good are worth it. I was a little taken back with all the signs about stealing and bringing in big purses and backpacks. I'm assuming they either have a lot of thieves in the area or they just don't trust non-Amish people. The doughnuts and fried pies were amazing. The cinnamon and sugar doughnuts are like "Amish crack" once you have one they start calling your name and your immediately addicted...

I'm rather in love with most things Amish. I've been to Shipshewana, IN and Millersburg, OH numerous times, as well as to Lancaster, PA and other little areas I've happened upon. I love the little grocery stores and other shops, so I was rather excited to happen upon R&S. First of all, this place is deceptively large. When you walk in, there's a little area to the left that has some stock, but if you go to the right, there's a huge area that seems to go on forever! There were lots of empty shelves, but there were also a lot of the things I've come to look for in these stores, such as different varieties of popcorn (mushroom popcorn is my favorite!), jellies, jams, etc. There is also a bakery and deli area. I was able to get my favorite Amish butter cheese there!The prices were good, and they did have bins of marked down items. Definitely worth a stop if you have the time.

We were camping at Nolin Lake State Park and were told to make a stop here. This place has an awesome Amish Bakery in the back of the grocery. We bought lots of delicious things there. Their handmade handheld lemon pies, and banana cream filled donuts are delicious! We also bought beets, apple butter, peanut butter spread, and hot dog sauce! Everything was absolutely yummy! I highly recommend a stop here if you're ever in the area!

I always like to visit this place when I'm in town visiting my parents. They have a really good bakery in the back. I've bought some of their homemade bread, pies, cookies, and pastries. Everything I've tried out of the bakery has been on point. They also sell grocery type items. Def worth a look through if u are in the area.

This place is pretty good if your looking for cheap cheap stuff.The donuts are delicious they dont have homemade bread. But all the desserts are made there.They do sell sandwiches and deli cheese and meats.

Very well kept store with tons of offerings from salvage items to fresh made doughnuts and a Deli. R&S has spectacular pricing, even more so when you find clearance items. We visit mostly while we are at Nolin Lake just to pick up items for our camping trip. They offer a full line of Amish canned goods with many made locally. The store staff is very friendly and willing to help if needed. You have to visit the place to get the full experience, don't take my word for it. I believe you will be impressed at some of the items you can find here that you won't find anywhere else!

AMAZING donuts! We went a bit out of our way because we were craving donuts! These did not disappoint. SO delicious and only $.99 each, even for fancy ones! This was a steal!

This place is great! They have all types of bake goods. Their donuts are pretty good too. Everyone was very kind and helpful.

Fun place to see what foods you might find on the cheap. Watch- someo items are damaged, while others are expired. You can not go in anticipating what they will have since it changes week by week. Amish ladies make goods in the bakery. Definitely try a minipie or doughnut -- very good. I believe breads are made with palm oil and have a distinctive smell/flavor. Not impressed with the breads due to this fact.

Some in-store baked goods, but plus wide selection of sweets, baking goods, deli, and bulk groceries.Plan on returning on way back north.
