Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant

We went somewhat late in the evening, probably around 8:30 PM for a late Mother's Day dinner out. We have patronized this Puerto Vallarta on numerous occasions and find it to be consistently very good. However, tonight's experience was even better than usual.The Half-Order Puerto Nachos were on special for only $4.99 which is pictured below. I also had a Chile Relleno, which was pretty good but not as much cheese inside as I would like. I thought I had taken a picture of it but apparently I did not.The server was very proficient and attentive, and we could not have asked for better service.As many times as we've dined there, the fact that this compelled me to write a review tonight speaks volumes of how good it was! Furthermore, we had a $5 off coupon from the school discount card and our total bill before the tip was just under $21!

Looks like a simple Mexican restaurant. However, the food is on point, and the margarita was great and very reasonable. Our second time to Bowling Green and our second time to this restaurant.

This has become one of my go-to places when I'm in town. It's an easy drive from NCM Motorsports Park.As of this visit, its clear Yelpers aren't paying attention to this unclaimed profile as the app says its closed today...no schedule at all in the profile (schedule detail has now been forwarded to Yelp admins for an update.)As always, your mileage may vary, but everything has been spot-on for me. The parking lot was packed for the lunch crowds on each of my visits. Even so, service was quick, friendly, and the food was excellent. There has always been adequate management presence Today, two managers stopped at our table to follow-up on customer experience.And beware! The plates come seriously hot-to-the-touch.Two salsas come with the chips: a bland red sauce for folk who can't take the heat and a thicker, spicier sauce for folk who enjoy more flavor.The entrées come with a variety of different sauces. Chile rellenos come with a coarse, sweet heat red sauce. A smooth, spicier orange-tinted (habanero maybe?) salsa comes with an order of Huevos Rancheros. The waitress asked if I wanted it poured over the dish or on the side. If it's your first visit, take it on the side. It truly has a strong, slow burn that wears off like cayenne, but I've found it more flavorful than Louisiana-styled sauces.Definitely worth another visit!

I craved Mexican and this place didn't disappoint. The best Chile relleno EVER and actually, the entire meal was absolutely, 100% delicious and abundant.

We ended up dropping by again! This place has become a must stop when in the Kentucky/Indy area! 5 minutes away from the highway!!! Food quality is superb, the flavor and authenticity is on point and the servers are super friendly. As you can see in the pictures the plates portions are HUGE. The wife and I were really impress that we found a mexican restaurant of this quality in Kentucky, this trully a hidden gem!

We literally walked out !!!! Food was absolutely disgusting.... From the queso , it was literally water , pure liquid . Then our main entree came out and my boyfriend ordered the 17.00 fajitas and there was literally a 1/4 cup of cheese shredded lettuce and avocado on the plate ,he ordered the mixed chicken and steak and there was maybe 8 piece's of each . I ordered the mixed combination plate I used my fork to cut in to the chile rellenos and pure water came out looked like it was just microwaved from frozen . We were completely fine with the long wait times , crowded seating and watered down salsa but for the prices of the food and it to come to our table like that absolutely unexceptable. Not coming back.

Amazing service. Gracias ANGELES!! Def want to recommend this place! It was authentic mexican food in KY! The music & ambience was great. All of the staff came by to greet us & made us feel like we were family. We had the arendeño steak. Fire

Oh no. Nu-uh. Not happenin.I've been dissed by Puerto's one too many times and I can understand now why others leave such low reviews. This place was such a treat back when I had left my first review, but since then I feel that it is continuing to go down hill.Since my first review I have ordered take out from this place several other times. I typically order the same thing, the dinner meal #8 - Two Tacos with rice and beans, with chips, salsa, and queso. I have been charged three different prices for the same meal on separate occasions. First being charged 11.60; then 12.26; this last time 14.05. What the heck is going on?! I really think whoever is working behind the counter taking the to go orders charges a different price everytime. Also, I have been sadly disappointed with the quality of food, to the point I cannot finish because it's either luke-warm by the time I get it or there is a sogginess quality. Since I am a texture person, eating soggy tacos is no bueno. Looks like you just lost out on another customer Puerto's.

The food was good as was the service. The enchiladas were spicy. The tamal was one of the best I've had.

Not always my first choice for weekday lunch, but an easy back pocket place. Solid off the bench, will get you what you need without trying to impress you. Serious consideration for 6th man of the year.
