We needed a restaurant in French Lick that would accommodate the whole family -- 11 people -- for dinner, without breaking the bank and where everyone could find something on the menu that they'd like. Power Plant Bar & Grill fit the bill! We came here before going on The Polar Express. The server gave us a long table just outside the main door to the restaurant. Power Plant's menu includes a lot of the bar-and-grill mainstays, like sandwiches, burgers and heavy apps. It also has a kids menu (much appreciated!). I got the Hoosier Reuben, made with corned beef, turkey, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing on sourdough. This satisfied what I was wanting and hit the spot. It also has a good beer list. A decent food option, especially if you want to feed the family while at French Lick.

This is a nice place for lunch if you want to stay on-site. We arrived on the late side of the lunch hour and were seated immediately. Our waitress checked in quickly, answered all our questions and checked in on us regularly. The atmosphere is casual. And there is a full service bar at one end of the room. There are several large TVs with various sports activities. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. A bartender broke my $20 for me and while I was waiting a manger came up and asked if I was being taken care of and if I enjoyed my meal. I had the pimento cheese BLT and it was great. Not sure what the bread was, maybe brioche, but it was just thick enough and toasted perfectly. The onion rings were hot and not greasy and the creamy cole slaw was very good also. Food came out quickly and as ordered. They have a full service bar. The cocktail menu has about a dozen drinks, ranging from $8 - $28. They also have a generous selection of beers. Prices are a little higher than typical for the fare due to being in the resort, but there are far more expensive option at the French Lick Resort. The free resort shuttle provides rides between properties, so it's very convenient.

First off service was great! Our server did everything right and was very attentive and funny. But the small room with cramped tables leads to a loud ambience. Now yes, it was packed due to a conference but 1.5 hours to get 3 burgers and fries let alone to have the burgers missing toppings just isn't acceptable from a former resort manager. I promptly asked our waitress for boxes and bills so we could rush back to our rooms to put the food in our fridges as we were late for a conference function. I understand planning ahead but when other tables that came in after you are receiving food before you it's not fun. The burgers also were poorly seasoned and when I finally did make it back to my room I was told by the front desk that there is no public microwave. ( there is one the cafe around the corner from the desk but it was closed) and it would be $20 a night if I wanted one sent to my room to heat up my food. I'm all for rules but I'm also in the hospitality industry and going out of my way to help a guest who was put in a situation due to one of my restaurants would have warranted me offering to warm the food up in our employee microwave at the least and I in no way mad at the front desk person I'm upset with the overall events that lead to that final microwave interaction.

Table of 8 and we were served very pleasantly and efficiently. Nachos appetizer came out quick. Was very good.My bacon cheeseburger was really good. They are "smash" burgers and very good.I was surprised they had steamed veggies in a place like this but they were good too. My wife's club and chips were great. Would recommend highly if you're staying at the resort.

Oh my. Try the Reuben sandwich. Homemade chips too. So good. Friendly service. Reasonably priced. Historical ambiance.

My family ate here for our first meal in French Lick. We were seated quickly and had good service. The food is standard "bar food" type fare mostly, but it was good and everyone was full and happy afterwards! I would deem this place worthy of including amongst your stops when spending some time at the resort.

I've been to this restaurant pre-pandemic and it was great. However, the menu has been cut more than half it seems. Now you can get a burger and that's about it. I opted for the BBQ pork nachos which you couldn't even see for the BBQ sauce on top. I had to scoop most of it off. Once I did that, I noticed that they used potato chips instead of tortilla chips (?). Interesting choice, but not terrible. The others had fish sandwiches which were a triangle piece of fish similar to what you could buy in the frozen section of the grocery store. It's definitely gone downhill and I'm not sure why, but I will skip it next time we are there. Too bad.

Neither great, neither bad. It's a typical pub with hand food. It's small and cozy and a good spot to be when avoiding the louder areas of the resort.

We had a reservation and were barely greeted when we arrived. Once we were sat, no one acknowledged us and after 20 minutes of waiting with no service we left. We can't speak to the food or drinks, since we didn't have any. However the service was not good at any level.

French Lick is an impressive resort - this place needs and overhaul. I wasn't expecting a grand meal, fully understanding this is a causal restaurant. Food quality was underwhelming for the price ($20 for a club sandwich with 2 slices of turkey) - served with cold bacon and they forgot the cheese. The french fries tasted like onion rings (yes - I understand they use the same oil to prepare). The bartender was unusually loud with a guest sitting at the bar - and our beers sat for 10 minutes before arriving at the table. The place was 1/4 full and the server dropped our food at the wrong table (I understand it's hard to find good people - our server worked at the restaurant and couldn't make a recommendation). I debated giving 2 stars... The hotels are SO nice - this place was a HUGE letdown. French Lick - you can do better.....
