What a neighborhood gem! Since moving to Clifton/Crescent Hill, the Peterson Dumesnil House has become an important part of our holidays especially. For the third year in a row, we attended the Easter egg hunt yesterday. Eggs are strewn all over the large lawn, and this event is large enough to feel like a community event while not being too big. It's still intimate and special. Important to know: This Easter egg hunt starts promptly at 10 a.m. If you arrive at 10:03 you'll miss out on eggs. We've also attended the Halloween event, complete with a small Halloween parade for kids in costumes along the driveway, and the Christmas open house with Santa. The PD House is large and stately but very welcoming. I love that it has become a symbol and gathering point for the neighborhood. It can also be rented out for events. I've passed by some beautiful weddings being held there. We are so lucky to have this landmark so close!

While I've never rented the space, the Peterson Dumesnil House is a well-known historical building in Louisville. It is now overseen by the Foundation and is available for event rentals. It is also the annual site for the Crescent Hill 4th of July Celebration. They allow visitors to come inside to view the second floor and view raffle/silent auction items. The bathrooms have been updated and provide a mix of old and new. One room is a perfect bridal suite area with a 3-way mirror. Rentals of Peterson Dumesnil also include beautiful outdoor spaces, whether for intimate vow exchanges or to increase seating space with tables and bartenders on the front lawn. Parking is available nearby the space, primarily as street parking. Kudos to those on the Foundation for taking great care of this space and making it available for the public. To learn more about the history and family, view the website.

Gorgeous special event/wedding venue nestled in the middle of a neighborhood. I love the landscape and small garden/ceremony space that's to the side of the house. It's a perfect place for a small/medium sized wedding. They have multiple options for spacing...inside and out, depending on your taste and the weather. The porch is not a very big area for the reception if you want people to dance, but if you have a super small crew it will work. I bet your pictures look amazing if that's a priority for your event.

Our company held a formal Christmas dinner at the P-D House in early Dec. 2018 and were not disappointed. The house was decorated beautifully, and the staff prepared it well to host our 30-person party. The food and drinks were catered by Clementine Catering, and they provided a delicious meal in a charming setting, to include accommodating several dietary restrictions. Consider Steve and the team at the Peterson-Dumesnil House for your next formal event. They will go the extra mile to make it a special evening.

"Why is there a house on Yelp?" I'll respond to your question with a question: why is there a Door to Nowhere on Yelp? And the answer to both of these questions is that I actually don't know. But I can tell you a bit about the Peterson-Dumesnil House. In Crescent Hill, the House is a landmark event location. It's a home base for events like the Crescent Hill Garden Tour, and a venue for the big Crescent Hill classic/old-timey Fourth of July bash. I recommend trying it out for family-friendly Fourth of July celebration. Art fairs ensue on the lawn, along with food trucks and funnel cake stations. You'll see classics like Homemade Pie and Ice Cream and "grown-up" spots for beers ON TAP! That's right: on tap. Won you over, didn't I? This house is a Crescent Hill staple. Try to stop by if you hear of an event taking place here!

I recently hosted a 60th birthday party for my mom at the Peterson Dumesnil house. It was such a fun, memorable night. Steve was more than accommodating by planning a delicious dinner menu that met several dietary restrictions! Everyone complimented the food and the beautiful historic home. It was a lovely place to have a dinner party with plenty of space for couches for conversing, a formal dinner table, and space to display gifts and desserts. I can't recommend it enough and I wouldn't hesitate to have another event here. Steve was a wonderful host!

My husband and I hosted our rehearsal dinner at the Peterson Dumesnil House and had a great time. Steve Clements and his great crew went above and beyond to create an amazing experience for our families and friends. We highly recommend a cocktail hour on the vast porch before dinner. Steve took care of absolutely everything and was great to work with. He gracefully accommodated all of our requests and helped us make fond memories of this special evening. The Peterson Dumesnil House is an awesome and beautiful venue that we will never forget.

Steve Clemens and the team at the Peterson-Dumesnil house are absolutely terrific. It was the perfect venue for our recent wedding. The atmosphere Steve and team created was truly unforgettable. Steve provided very thoughtful suggestions throughout our planning and ensured no detail (even those we hadn't thought of) was overlooked on our special day. The house is lovely, and the food was delicious. What's more, the photos of the event, from the well-appointed interior and throughout the beautiful gardens are spectacular - capturing the memories for years to come.
