My husband and I have lived in Independence for 20+ years and this was the first time we've been at Peacocks. It was a Saturday night, they had a great band playing, Halfway Hammered. The beers were cold, our bartender was nice and attentive. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the food. We ordered the pretzel bites, potato skins and wings. The cheese is poured out of a can. Gross! Liquid cheese poured onto of the potatoes skins. That is never a good idea! Grating your own cheese not ok only tastes better, but is also more cost effective. They have a very limited variety of sauces to choose from for their wings. Hot buffalo sauce, medium buffalo sauce and their inhouse Peacock sauce. Don't get the Peacock sauce. Whoever came up with that sauce had to have been drunk. Gross! The pretzel was just your typical frozen pretzel cooked according to the box directions. All of the food we had was just frozen food, nothing made fresh. They have a small area where there's 2 pool tables. A few tables, most of their seating is at the bar which is a very oddly shaped bar. In some areas of the bar you're sitting back to back to strangers. Too close for comfort in my opinion. They do have a mix of young adults and older adults and it seems to be decently cleaned. I would go again but definitely eat before I go.

This hidden bar in the outback of northern Kentucky is a gem of a place. I checked out on a motorbike ride. What I found was an medium size place. They have a large bar that is odd shaped they can fit many people at the bar due to this. The place is non smoker but they have a large out back area. With a porch so you won't look homeless smoking out back. They also have a corn hole board set up if you feel like getting your bag tossing skills shown up by a local. This place had a live band called Mad River they played southern rock and were from Mason Ohio. The band had room and the dance floor was a decent size. They sounded good so I stayed for a while. I enjoyed the pizza I ordered it was a flavor bomb it exploded with taste. The beer was cold the vibe was good. It's a place where you'll enjoy when you go. It's a dive bar that was clean and uncluttered. Many local woman and men were about. This place had it all. Good drinks and a outback area that was large. Parking lot was a little jankey for a motorbike so watch out for loose gravel if you ride. All in all this place is worth a return visit. Looks small from the outside but it is not.

Earl Cox,How do you not have more than 1 bartender on a Friday night? I understand it is an unprecedented (gotdamncovid) time but the current atmosphere shows it is not for you. Anyway, Fallon the bartender/cook/barback/buss did everything on one of the busiest nights I've ever seen. She is the Cole Trickle, Jeff Foxworth, Forest Gump, of bartending. Thanks.Your beloved southern Kenton county resident. Raise hell praise dale. God please

Long review but please read.Just had dinner at Peecox in Independence, if you want a place to eat with a dive bar atmosphere this is the place to go. You can't beat the steak dinner for $ 6.00 during the week. And the staff are great. So why the 1 star? That would be because of certain patrons that were sitting at the bar(well just 1). There were 4 of us and one of us happened to be black. We knew what the bar was like and don't have a problem with it. As I was leaving after I paid, and with my back turned, I heard this patron tell me not to come back. I am sure this was more directed at one individual in our party that had already walked out the door. I know this was said by a sad lonely patron who's only happiness is getting drunk & talking bad about people behind their backs. I don't have a problem with being told not to come back(just to be clear this was not said by anyone who works there) just next time he should be man enough to say it to someone's face. And to that sad lonely patron at the bar, we will be back and I hope that you are there when we do come back.I know that Peecox can't help what their regular customers think, but if you want to go there and have a good steak dinner, just be aware what to expect if you are not what the regular patrons are use to
