Patsy Hartigan's Pub in Evansville is such a cool spot--it's got that real Irish pub vibe, not the typical American version. It feels genuine, like a little piece of UK.What really stands out is the bartender/general manager. They know their Irish whiskey inside and out and love to share that knowledge. If you're a whiskey fan, you'll be in heaven here! They pointed out a few unique bottles I'd never even heard of and explained what made them special. You can tell they're passionate, and that makes the experience even better. Here's a fun fact they told me that stuck: Irish whiskey owes its start to monks who brought perfume distilling techniques from the S Europe back to Ireland. It's wild to think that a tradition like that started so far away and turned into something so distinctly Irish. The pub itself has such a great personality--welcoming, and full of life. It's the kind of place where you can just relax, have a great conversation, and enjoy a drink that feels like it was picked just for you. The mixed drinks are also very, very good. If you're ever in Evansville, don't skip this place!

The fish was greasy. I had to get an extra napkin to absorb the grease. The batter had no seasoning. The fries were soft. I will not come back.

Very busy for Saturday lunch, seemed to be one of the only restaurants open. Ordered the corned beef rueben which came with fries. The fries were very bland and not cooked all the way through. They would be better with a seasoning or sauce. The sandwich needs improving. The meat to sauerkraut ratio was not on par. Several of my pieces of meat were too fatty to consume. The waitress was attentive and friendly though and we were sat immediately.

Great little Irish pub in downtown Evansville. My father in law and I both had fish and chips for lunch. Fish was fresh and cooked very well. Chips were also hot and fresh. The tartar sauce was too much like buttermilk for me, but malt vinegar was a better option. The only thing I didn't like was the bland slaw. The slaw was fresh, but had little taste. Service was fast and good. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

Had dinner there last night. Wait was 20 minutes and they were out of a few things but it's their first week! Our server was nice and knowledgeable. Great beer and drink selection and the food was awesome. Had the scotch eggs, salmon dip, soda bread, Reuben sandwich, shaved ribeye sandwich and chopped pub salad. The place looks so nice inside and out. Looking forward to heading back to try a few things they didn't have last night.

Food is always good. I do not care for their Irish soda bread but absolutely everything else I have had here has been excellent from appetizers to desserts to cocktails. Large selection of Irish Whiskeys with an owner who is very knowledgeable about each. Truly great service each time I have been there.

Excellent food, great beer selection, wonderful wait staff. Love this spot that works for a casual lunch spot or nice date night. We had the Scotch Egg to start which was cooked perfectly. The best Ruben in town used to be Gerst Haus but this place reins king of the Ruben! The shepherds pie was great and huge. My favorite taste of the night was the herb bread served with the pie. We grabbed a slice of chocolate cake to take home and it was super rich and decadent. For sure one of my favorite places in Evansville.
