This spot is a keeper! The ambiance is classy but the theme is hip and cool! 90's rap is my jam and I love all the lyrics painted on the wall! Food and drinks were great! Coming back again for another Valentines night dinner date with my husband!

Outcast Fish & Oyster Bar @outcast_oysterWe arrived for an early dinner at 4:50 (happy hour 4-6) to a welcoming staff. We ordered three appetizers, two sandwiches and two shareables. The halibut civiche appetizer consisted of halibut, black tobiko caviar, avocado, white onion, cilantro and tostada. It was light and fresh but too heavy on the avocado. We expected more a fish taste and texture. After wearing out Central and South American ceviche, this was disappointing, albeit admittedly different styles. If you're looking for ceviche with a lime bite, this isn't the one for you. The Chesapeake Oysters (larger oyster plate) appetizer was superb! We ordered 10 (happy hour!) and very much enjoyed them. We loved adding horseradish and mignonette sauce (red wine vinegar with shallots) onto the oyster and slurping them down. The horseradish burns deeper and lasts longer than you think it will, but not so long you can't stand it. It's a 'hurt so good' kind of burn! The Oysters Rockefeller (baked oysters in rich cream sauce and bread crumbs) appetizer was phenomenal in taste. I licked the shell. Our only complaint was they were a bit on the small side but for happy hour prices we aren't complaining. Our main meals, two battered fish sandwiches, were a substantial amount of fish. The batter has a slight LJS texture without a signature batter flavor. The accompanying tartar sauce seemed made in-house and was good, but nothing spectacular like we hoped. Some unique tarter would've taken these sandwiches from a 7 to a 9 or 10. Potato Wedges and Roasted Brussels Sprouts for the table were our shareables. We liked the sprouts but don't think the wedges deserve a place on the menu. They take an otherwise elevated experience down a notch. Most importantly, we loved the decor, vibe as people rolled in and the excellent, knowledgeable and kind service from all the staff.

Service is still excellent. Restaurant is clean and bright. The items I tried today were not the greatest. I still think there's a lot of potential though. Gemelli pasta They give a lot of fresh crab and the little bits of guanciale were really good. There was just something missing in the flavor profile for me but it was still decent 3/5Fish tacosI would rate it 2/5. The corn tortilla fell apart because of the wet fish. It would have been better if the fish was battered instead of grilled. And maybe if paired with a creamy sauce instead. Panko crusted calamari 3/5Good portion size and the sweet and tangy sauce was really good.

My go to! I've been here multiple times and they never disappoint. Service and food is great. Seafood fresh and served with the best sauces. Their seafood towers are to die for. A must have on a date night, and make sure to ask for their spicy mayo sauce with the shrimp. They have a happy hour so great place to enjoy some oysters and drinks. Their dining area gives off a retro vibe with an amazing staff to accommodate.

Very expensive for what you get and very hit or miss depending on what you order. Every-time we have went (other than happy hour which is great) we have one thing we like a lot and one thing we absolutely do not. I'm mostly upset with the fish dip is served cold with no warning on the menu and actually tasted like cold hot dogs just not good at all. I'd say if you go stick to the oysters or fried foods.

Great vibes! We loved this spot in New Albany! Quick seating on a Saturday night. Happy hour had me trying a fabulous margarita. I will be back just to have another of those! There's a raw bar, peel and eat shrimp, ceviche. I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were fantastic- cooked perfectly tender and large. Interesting "red eye gravy"- I've always know red eye gravy as a super strong coffee and salty country ham reduction, this was good, but not as strong and salty as I am accustomed. The grits were good, not too cheesy, just enough of what I think was a white cheddar. One of our party had a shrimp roll (it also comes with lobster) and you can get it hot or cold style. Next time I am ordering the fish and chips- I saw it delivered to another table and I had food envy! Wow. The chicken fried oysters were delicious. There was one burger on the menu for that one person in the group that doesn't eat seafood. Server was attentive, but not smothering, a water carafe was brought with water to the table which was nice, so we never had a no drink situation. He was also very accommodating to a special dietary consideration and went over the menu with us, then with the chef, and came back with the chef's recommendations. I really appreciate that level of attentiveness. Love that the bathroom is two single rooms (not multi stalls) and gender neutral. Entrance did have one step up from the sidewalk- this is an old, converted building, but the interior was navigable for someone with limited mobility, but not what I'd call totally accessible. We were there early, so it might be different later in the evening, but we LOVED that two of our group with hearing problems could actually hear during dinner! Background, mood music was just enough. Can't wait to come back again soon!
