Oscar's Hardware

Reminiscent of the hardware stores we grew up with before the "big guys"! I love Oscars because it has just about everything you need for your home and yard and is displayed neatly. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable! You won't be disappointed!!

This is a wonderful local hardware store. The store feels sort of cramped with different things hiding behind every corner. Truly this is a bit daunting for the likes of me who is about as out of place in a hardware store as my cats are in a swimming pool. But this isn't a huge deal since one of the employees ALWAYS asks if I need help finding anything and directing me to the right aisle.They take it one step further ensuring you get what you need by asking follow up questions about what you're working on. I always feel like they're just as much educators as they are sales people always willing to explain why you should go with something but not in just a "my paycheck depends on it" sort of way. Oscar's hardware seems to have every thing that you would need for most projects. They don't seem to have a lot of the larger items you might find on the sales floor of a Home Depot but that's fine for me. I'm sure they would still help you find what ever big thing you need where ever it may be. The location is also fantastic being next to the best wine store in town and easily walkable from loads of neighborhoods. It really feels like a small town mom & pop hardware store that is my first stop for any tools I need. I walk over to oscars before even checking the web and they've never let me down.

I needed to stop and get some keys made while I was in the area so I decided to stop in the local shop! I prefer to support local!I walked in and was browsing for a few minutes when a young man came to see if I needed help. He gave me key options and made my keys quickly. He answered my paint questions as well. They do offer car keys to be made there as well. They have a great variety in this small shop and good service. So glad to have a shop close to home that I don't have to walk miles in to find what I need!

Ever since Hammer hardware closed I have been shopping at Oscar's hardware. Oscar's is great! I have found many items there that a professional would use--I was a professional.Oscar's carries items that are difficult to find other than on the Internet. The staff are extremely helpful and the manager--owner?--remembers your name after a couple of visits. Oscar's also cuts glass to order!If you are looking for hardware Oscar's is the place to go. They know their stock unlike employees at box stores. Besides it is a Louisville store.

I never leave reviews, but this experience was as good as it gets. As I walked in the door an older gentleman asked if I needed help and from then on he stayed by my side and continued to answer any and all questions I had. This will be my go to hardware store from now on. Forget Home Depot or Lowes!

Awesome local hardware store that has been in business for several generations. I had long driven past Oscar's and not given it much thought until I needed some things for my place as stopped in. Located adjacent to Red Hog, it's a clean, organized hardware store with a surprisingly vast selection crammed into the tiny space, and friendly, knowledgeable staff who can point you in the right direction for any home need or house project. On my last visit I bought a Reel Mower for my yard. The person working that day told me that I would need to get the blades sharpened every so often, and that I could do so at another hardware store in town since Oscar's doesn't offer that service. I was impressed at the helpful tip and that they were willing to point me towards a competitor to boot! They know that earnest, honest, and helpful will keep their customer base loyal. I love seeing local spots like this that are thriving and an important part of the community. Oscar's is one of my new favorite spots (hello to having a house that is over a century old!). Stop in sometime soon and you may just find that it's one of yours as well!

A great local hardware store that is well stocked and has knowledgeable staff. Look here first when you need something and last when you can't find it anywhere else

First time going in and had previously sent my friend in to pick up an item for me. The staff wasnt very helpful and oddly enough its juneteenth and i myself and friend are black so i dont think they cared to even help they clearly treated both of us the same way and were standoffish. Very sad to have to write this taken that the other reviews are not like this.

I appreciate Oscar's hardware. They always have what I need. They are always helpful and courteous.

I went in there today to look for some lube to enable my table saw blade to raise without issue and they suggested the perfect product for me and I went home to try it and it worked. Thanks a bunch!
