Always a great casual place for a good dinner! Come as you are, leave stuffed. Don't expect it to be the fastest Asian food you've ever had- everything is made to order. Not the fanciest place either- but dependably delicious. Wear whatever you have on. And where else can you get your dinner delivered via robot? Always a hit with kids. And me. I highly recommend 7 stars around the moon. It's not on the menu, but is a regular special. Crab Rangoon is the best in the Louisville area. Other favorites are bulgolgi, black pepper chicken, coconut shrimp, triple delight and pecan chicken. The sushi is good- it's all cooked, so don't expect an authentic Japanese experience. The Korean noodles are authentic and worth an order. My favorite hot and sour soup is made here too! I am not a bubble tea fan (lumps in my drink-no thank you!) but other family and friends have told me theirs is very good. And they have both varieties with and without milk. Calimari is pretty good, love the potstickers in all varieties except the vegetable one. Sa cha beef or chicken is very good and so is the donbori. It's refreshing to order Asian dishes that go beyond sweet and sour chicken and General Zso. They have those too for the less adventurous in your group. This place is right off I265 and just a 20 minute drive from Oldham Co, anywhere in the east end or Highlands.

My wife and I have been going here for years and this past Sunday afternoon was the most recent visit. Upon arriving, we were happily greeted by the gentleman who normally seats us and who seemed to recognize us immediately. We had some nice banter about the weather in Hong Kong and then ordered "pot stickers" and our main courses. My wife enjoyed hers but I will leave her dish out of this review since I did not sample it personally. My curry chicken was served in a large bowl with a side of steamed rice. The flavors were poppin', the dish was lava-level hot, and the coffee I drank with the meal was rich and flavorful. The curry chicken was also rich and flavorful, maybe not quite as spicy as I would prefer but that's nothing to gripe about really. On a cold January day, the rich flavors and warm texture really hit the spot. The Onion does not possess the more exotic flavors of mainland China, although I'm sure the super sweet owner COULD, but this is S. Indiana and many folks probably aren't ready for that---yet, anyway. But for what they DO-DO they do it wonderfully. At the risk of sounding like I'm engaging in hyperbole, you can really FEEL the love in each dish, and you couple that with the warm and friendly, familial type atmosphere, and it's just a very satisfying experience to visit. I want to also add that the dumplings were AWESOME. Lots of Chinese-style establishments around here seem to be throwing out a lot of cut-rate dumplings that probably make a lot of native palates happy, but The Onion is REALLY taking their dumplings seriously, FULL of flavor, nicely cooked up with a bit of crisp but a nice soft chew---just perfect. I could easily make a whole meal of a dozen or so of them. Service was impeccable and by today's standards the price wasn't too shabby, either. We'll be back soon and xie xie ni! Todd

You can miss the restaurant if you're directionally challenged, as I am. Being a citizen of the world, I've tasted the various interpretations of the Asian cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant for it authentic flavors. -shrimp toast deliciously crispy, not pasty nor greasy.

Went to a friends house across the river and the group decided to order some Chinese food. The reviews led us to Onion Restaurant. A quick order through Doordash and here we are.The food, was... alright. Just not what I'm used to when it comes to standard American Chinese food. The garlic chicken was swimming in sauce and was oddly sweet. Hot and Sour was decent, but once again, oddly sweet. Egg rolls and the fried rice left a lot to be desired. Their saving grace: they threw in some fresh Chinese donuts.Had a pretty extensive menu ranging from boba tea to sushi. To sum it up: Not the best, not the worst.

Best Chinese in southern Indiana. Service is a little slow but adequate. But it's worth the wait. Not a great atmosphere and the place could use a little updating. But I've never been disappointed here and the slow service I can put up with because they are very nice people who own and run it.
