Loved the fresh sashimi and sushi. I loved how all the fish were plated uniquely, as if I was looking at art. I enjoyed the great conversation with the sushi chef and the fantastic service. I will be coming back.

Was very excited to try this new spot in Chevy Chase. They've done a nice job updating the interior and the decor is sleek and modern but still warm, inviting, and comfortable. The menu has an excellent array of sushi dishes, from nigiri/sashimi selections to maki rolls to specialty rolls. They also offer some interesting salads (will try the tuna and avocado next time) and appetizers. We ordered the Chevy Chase roll, the Keeneland roll, and I had a piece of Chutoro. Everything was delicious and well prepared, though we were the only ones in the restaurant and it seemed to take a long time to produce just two rolls. Our server was very nice and attentive. Everyone seemed very friendly. Excellent addition to the Lexington dining scene but have to dock a point for the very high prices. $8 for one piece of very small Chutoro nigiri is even more expensive than I pay at a lot of place in Washington, DC. I'm worried about the longevity of this spot due to pricing. I also think the menu would benefit from a non-omakase nigiri/sashimi selection like a Chirashi or even pre-set nigiri selection. Though we didn't order any drinks, the bar boasts an incredible selection of both Japanese whiskies and bourbons. Will absolutely be back to try a few! Best selection I've not only seen in Kentucky but almost anywhere I've been. Will definitely return to do the actual Omakase menu, which is 12 pieces for $89. Again, rather steep for Lexington, but will be looking forward to it. I also want to try to go on the nights they offer live Koto performances!

My friends and I had a fantastic experience here! There is a very extensive menu so it was hard to choose but we shared some sushi rolls and an app. The presentation is just beautiful! Everything tasted so fresh too. There were several fun cocktails to choose from and a nice sake selection. The service was excellent and our server was very welcoming and helpful.

Great omakase restaurant in Lexington. We were using the notary at the UPS store and I had flagged this on Yelp before landing in KY. Having lived in Japan, I have high standards for omakase and was pleasantly surprised here! The experience from start to finish was excellent. Miki was an excellent server and I loved that our sushi chef was a woman and there is a toto washlet in the restroom. Their crepe cake is from lady m also (appreciate this as a New Yorker and Californian).

WARNING: if you don't like sushi, pampering, quality service, and fun: don't come here. This is the type of high class sushi Lexington has been missing.

I'm fortunate to meet up friends once or twice a year in Kentucky. Coming from Hawaii, people are often surprised when I say Lexington is home to good sushi bars. Omakase Sushi and Sake surpasses good and moves into the Great category for me. I've been fortunate to visit twice over the 8 months taking Lexington natives with me and every has commented that it's one of if not the best dining experiences they have had!The Great: Start of with great sushi, freshest ingredients, creative plating, and fantastic options of adult beverages whether it be Sake, Beer, or Whiskey. The A5 Wagyu hot stone appetizer was fantastic as well as a grilled miso glazed cod. The Omakase Nigiri set is the way to go and I love the season salts that lets you play with the flavors. The Good: So many great things my only downside is I don't have access to the large menu! There are so many other items I want to try but I can never pass up the Omakase set! There may be a few items that some newer sushi lovers may find challenging such as the sweet shrimp or sea urchin but I encourage exploration as it is truly a culinary experience. The Okay: I've heard it's at times difficult to get a reservation here so my recommendation is book early! you will not be disappointed.Overall: Omakase Sushi & Sake bar has become my go to Sushi spot whenever I'm fortunate enough to visit. Julius and his staff are amazing hosts and I look forward to visiting again the next time I'm in town!

Fantastic date night at Omakase on E High St. The sushi was splendid. We ordered the volcano roll (without Serrano peppers), the sex on the beach roll and the shrimp tempura roll. All of them so good, especially the volcano roll. The soy sauce was great and seemed so much better than kikkoman soy sauce. Beautiful presentation and kind, thoughtful service. We will be back! Be sure to make reservations.

Omakase was amazing in every way. The chef is an artist. The rolls are an art piece in look, taste, and texture. I was overwhelmed by just how unique and standout each roll was, it'd be hard to go wrong. Can't recommend enough!
