Not very kid friendly. They make kids clear out of the entire pool 15 minutes before an aqua fitness class. It's a rainy spring break day and both pools aren't allowing kids in. So we were told to let them play at the kids center. We went there and were told we need reservations and none were available. Then a worker told me I should take my kids to the library instead.

BODYPUMP & BODYSTEP classes are amazing at the Northeast Family YMCA! 10/10 Recommend!!! The group fitness room is BIG and there is a stage so you can see the instructor clearly! Lots of equipment and they have the LES MILLS SMARTBARS!!!

I'm getting back into taking classes at the gym and really enjoyed the Body Pump class they Y offers. It was a great workout and I did feel tired after. I felt energized and wanted to go back. The facility is clean and there are cleaning supplies everywhere for your use. The staff is also constantly wiping down equipment and communal use areas. I'm excited to be back to classes and can't wait to try out more.

Awesome facility here. Absolutely huge with endless possibilities of activities and events to do. I'm a huge fan of the indoor pool and the amazing outdoor calypso cove. I am a member here and I wish it was a closer drive to my home as I really only take advantage of the swimming facilities. Another cool thing they do that I have yet to take advantage of is the childcare for members. Really cool areas with playgrounds and everything.

Absolutely loved camp last week. My son went to cedar ridge camp for a week and loved it. The camp counselors outside were on it! We pulled up every morning and rolled through drop off. Every afternoon pick up was the same. He enjoyed his time and meet some new friends.

No better place to get in a good without at the YMCA. Clean gym with very clean locker rooms. Ample exercise equipment and plenty of fitness classes to for different change of pace. This YMCA also has 2 swimming pools which is a major plus. A good place not only for individual workouts but also very Family friendly

It has been 10 + years since I have been to a YMCA; my family was a part of the Shepherdsville branch growing up and I always loved it. We have lived right by this location for almost 2 years now, and have just now gotten around to checking it out. I am a member of Planet Fitness, but like to change up my workout scenery every now and then. The Y offers a free guest pass where you can visit for free twice every year. So, we took advantage of the opportunity and wen to check it out for ourselves. It's a really nice facility, to sum it all up. There are multiple things to do here: pool, gym, basketball courts, waterpark... While, of course, I wasn't able to experience everything with one visit, I did make good use of their gym. The gym is nice, it's just very compact. and this place gets busy, so it fills up pretty quick. I definitely prefer a more open area, but they have all of your typical machines, even some super fancy ones I haven't seen elsewhere. The locker rooms are especially nice, and they have locks that you can borrow during your visit. I think for the price, you can get a lot out of it here. I'd love to come back eventually and I can see why many people have kept their memberships here for years.

I ran the Turkey Trot last November and they handed out free guest passes. Normally I run outside, but it is just too cold! So, I used this pass! Wooohoooo!!!!!They have new equipment, Huge Screens with touchscreen pads on the treadmills, which makes running indoors a little more bearable. Complimentary towels and showers for those of us that needed to go back to work! I did not take any of the classes, Though they do have a lot to offer, and they also have childcare during certain hours (checking the website, it says : Monday-Friday: 8:00 am-2:00 pm; 4:00 pm-9:00 pmSaturday-Sunday: 8:00 am-5:00 pmI am attaching a photo of the run I did, this is just a pic of the screen on the treadmill! The facility is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful!

This is my neighborhood Y, so I've been here a lot and used nearly all their services at one time or another. This is a good location.* Fitness area -- I mainly use free weights, and I like that they have a squat rack and power rack. If one is being used, the other typically isn't unless the place is unusually busy. I wish they had a designated area for doing deadlifts and barbell rows as it can be awkward just doing it on the floor. I sometimes feel like I'm in the way. The fitness area has a huge variety of cardio equipment, weight machines, kettlebells, and so forth.* Adventure Center -- This is where the older (toilet trained) kids go. They have a large hamster-habitat thingy (you know, with the tubes and stuff) that the kids can climb all over. There's a rock wall, a video game area, and lots of toys. My kids liked going here.* Nursery -- For babies and toddlers, they have a nice, clean nursery staffed by at least 3 or 4 staff members. They took good care of my babies.* Pools -- There is a lap pool and family pool indoors. The lap pool is usually busy and sometimes has water aerobics classes going on. The family pool is mainly for having fun, though they do occasionally hold swimming classes there.* Calypso Cove -- This is the big water park you see as you drive by. It was a lot of fun for my kids from toddler age through about 6 or 7. After that, it wasn't so much fun for them. But there are tons of kids here on a typical sunny day, so obviously some kids like it.Overall, I really like this location. Other YMCAs may have nicer facilities, but I am satisfied with what the Northeast Y has. If I have a complaint, it's that the people answering the phones don't always know what's going on. More than half the time, they either don't know the answer to a question or they give the wrong information.
