Nisbit Inn reminds me of a time that has gone by. I expected a stagecoach to come by and pick me up as it has been open since 1912. It is literally interesting middle of a corn field on a county road close to I-64.When I walked in. I thought someone was standing with a trey but nope, just a mannequin strategically placed. Service was very nice and friendly as they took time to talk to me.Nisbit Inn claims it has the World's Coldest Beer. I don't drink beer but they have pretty good sweet tea.On Wednesdays, they serve brisket. I asked if the brisket was fatty and they said it is shaved very thin. I chose the two meat plate instead. My two meat plate came with ribs, pulled pork, and I chose creamy slaw and American potato salad. The ribs were really good as they were easy to chew and had a good smoky run to them. The slaw was creamy and diced the way I like it and the potato salad was cut into cubes. But the pulled work was just bad. I wonder if it is because they cook it in their sauce because the sauce made it have more of a bitter taste. The sauce was ok on the ribs but there was really nothing delicious about the sauce.I also thought that homemade dessert would be a good choice from here. It was all right but I should have used better judgment because I thought dessert was a little pricey.Besides the pulled pork, the food was good. I wouldn't drive out of my way for it though. My food was also more than what I wanted to pay. My two meat plate was $19, dessert was $6 and my sweet tea was $3. Because of how bad the pulled pork was and how much I paid for it, that is how I arrived at my 3 star rating.

First time for me here and definitely not my last. I ordered the pulled chicken and ribs with a side of baked beans and corn bread. The food was fantastic, with plenty of flavor and the seasoning was perfect. The staff was some of the friendliest I've been around and the atmosphere is awesome.

Great local place to stop by for carry out! During this pandemic they have family specials going on and they bring the food right out to your car! I have never been in the restaurant, but have been told it's a great place to eat in as well. Will definitely continue to support local and buy meals here!We chose the pork chop dinner with (6) pork chops, green beans, potato salad, cole slaw, and dinner rolls for $36.99. The sauce that came with the dinner was amazing! Can't wait to come back to try something different.

One of my top 5 Evansville-area restaurants. And the best old-time barbecue North of the Ohio-- I don't go here nearly enough. Every plate I've ever had handed to me is Instagram-worthy. Just really, really pleasant plates. They brag about having coldest beer on Earth-- the effed up thing is-- yeah, probably. The location and building is straight outta Gunsmoke. The beer cheese though. It's like Limburger-extra-Limburger. Soooooo precious. The waitstaff will almost try to talk you out of it. Shame on them. Don't wimp out. They'll bring you horseradish-- or beer-- to temper it. Screw that. Eat the cheese. It's somewhere on the spectrum between fish bait and heaven. A truly great place. It's firmly on my list of top 5 places for eats if you're new to Evansville.

We had a large group and ate at Nisbet recently. New owners have purchased the restaurant so we were curious what to expect. The menu appeared the same but WOW was it great. Everyone loved their meals. I had a double cheeseburger that was the best I have had in years. The burger was clearly patted out patties and not frozen hamburgers. It was fantastic!

The server was more interested in talking with friends than providing my wife and me with service. We left without ordering the one thing we went to this establishment to try. The food was good, service was not so good.

Went to the Nisbet last night with 3 other couples. The food was exceptional, especially the gumbo and baby back ribs. World's coldest beer is a saying that is overused, not here!! Bella our server was great. A true hidden gem that is worth the drive. We can't wait to go back!

Our party dined here last week for lunch. Our server was polite but appeared to be the only one working the lunch shift. She definitely needed another set of hands. We loved the look of the building and the ambiance. I feel like I need to try this restaurant another time when they are fully staffed before giving a full review of food and service.

What a hidden jewel this restaurant is! We came on a jam packed Friday night and the experience was fantastic. Jaleigh was our server and she never stops hustling! The smoked ham platter was SO delicious, the onion rings are perfection, and we feel is the worlds coldest beer! We will be back!
