Friendly local diner across the street from the hotel. Breakfast was very good. I had the hungry jack, eggs, ham, hash browns and a biscuit w/ gravy. Took a veggie omelette to go for my bff. Good coffee! Waited a few minutes for a table. Dining area is as clean. Service was prompt.Support this local family restaurant!Would definitely return for the good breakfast and fair prices.

We were able to eat at Nilas for breakfast last week while visitin the resort. Very reasonably priced and would have returned more if they were open on Tues or Wed. Just bad timing on our part.My husband got the veggie omelet and I got the hash brown casserole and biscuit. I liked the hash brown casserole bites - something we don't have in our part of the midwest. Overall - a good meal at a good price.

Definitely a loved staple of West Baden. Everyone was friendly and smiled while welcoming us in.For some reason, it wouldn't let me also choose food and ambience as what went well, but that was also a really good selling point! Also got to meet Miss Nila herself, and she's such a nice lady! Can't wait to have future visits here!

This little gem in French Lick is a must! Every time I visit the town I make it a point to dine here for breakfast.. it's by far one of the best diners I've ever eaten at. I traveled a lot prior to losing my husband for business so I've ate in a lot of places. If you're in this neck of the woods be sure to stop by. You won't be disappointed. Prices are very reasonable and the food is divine

This was a wonderful hidden gem that I heard about during our stay at French Lick hotel from a trio of lovely ladies who had breakfast here on Saturday. Being Mother's Day weekend, I was not sure we could get in early but we did on Sunday and I was delighted. Friendly faces and greetings heard. Small restaurant, definitely family owned which we should all want more of and give business to when it's just this good! Parking is a bit sparse, heads up but worth it. Great decor, feels very much like a downtown Jeffersonville Indiana restaurant we have known as Geraldine's (maybe they are related!!!). Same level of great service and good homemade food! Pros are the food and service, pretty amazing and down to earth prices, for sure with meals under $20. Cons: No fountain service, only cans but no big deal overall. There are charges for refills on tea per the menu. Perhaps the menu needs an update as herbal tea is not available but certainly listed. It might help to explain on menu that home fries are sliced potatoes for those expecting cubes/squares instead. Overall: Absolutely no complaints at all, the food was SOOOOOOOOO amazing and the service was friendly- the gent waiting on us and the owner checked in- just so helpful! The eggs were made to order exactly as requested, which is rare as many places tend to make omelets when asking for scrambled as it seems to be a lost cooking skill that even French Lick's Colonnade does not possess. If I had known the breakfast would be so perfect here, we'd have eaten here twice instead.

Nila's Place is a solid diner. Go there with that in mind and get ready for some delicious food, good coffee, and wonderful service. We all loved our meal. I had the chicken fried steak...wait there are decisions to be made: Grits or potatoes? Eggs cooked? Cheese grits? Wheat, white, English muffin, rye...? I am persnickety about sausage gravy and they do it right. The staff is not only pleasant, our server had a quick come back or comment that had all of us laughing. Oh yeah, and my daughter recommends the breakfast bowl with the country ham.

Nila's was packed today but they move quick. Classic diner food at a good price. Biscuits and gravy was delicious. Cash discount is available. This is a solid (and really the only) option for breakfast in the French Lick area.

This is a straight up diner. No muss, no fuss. You'll get eggs cooked anyway you like 'em, insert breakfast meat, insert breakfast potato, insert breakfast bread - all quickly, cooked well, and with a smile! Put them all together in a bowl if you want & top it with gravy. Level up.

Food wasn't that great. Grilled chicken as an add on wasn't seasoned and it was overcooked. We selected this restaurant based on the reviews. It is not a place we would not return to when visiting the area. Staff were friendly.

Follow the locals! Looking for a good, quality lunch place in a new to you area, look for pick up trucks! We drove by this local eatery and slammed on the brakes when we saw the parking lot filled with trucks and gents walking in and out with trucker caps. These guys, all from "right here", not only have a choice of where to dine, they know where the good stuff is cooked.Going in for Sunday breakfast ... pancakes and sausage. My friend had the hungry jack meal. Just great home cooked food with the nicest, sweetest wait staff in town. Low prices compared to my world too.Five stars. Going back for their home made pie later
