New View Bar & Grill

Very small and lively karaoke bar located off outer loop in the high view area. The first home in owned and lived in was like a mile or two down the road from here so we had a our share of fun nights filled of hazy memories and interesting Shenanigans. Over the last few years they have closed in a patio out front that makes it nicer on warm weather nights. They always have the karaoke machine roaring and they do offer food as well. Food is pretty good. Not bad at all for bar food. They have a few pool tables as well and the games aren't very expensive to play. The drinks are about in par with other local bars and they are a generous pour so no complaints there. For a small neighborhood dive/karaoke bar there is a lot of fun times to be had and they always had a rather large crowd of regulars back when I went on my younger years. I try to make it from time to time still but as I've gotten older and having 4 growing kids it makes it more difficult. But it is a fun place filled with priceless memories for us and my friends.

The Hidden Gem in the city... That Old School Corner Bar, Cheers type vibe, neighborhood hangout... Pool tables.. jukebox... karaoke nights.. $1.50 Taco Tuesdays.. very reasonable priced drinks and food... Ohhhhh, Yeah .... and believe it or not... Amazing Food!!!! Top Notch Burger and Fries!!!... FYI .. CASH ONLY!!!

I have not been here in a couple of years but man we used to wear this place out a lot. We would have a lot of fun up here for a lot of years me and my buddies would drink at the bar eat the food karaoke and have a lot of memorable and forgetful evenings here at this place. Now that I'm a little older and I have kids we don't get to go out as much but for sure if we do I would like to return here and have a great time

Saw a review in New View on their fish. Stopped by Friday and purchased 2 dinners to go. The dinners are 2 huge pieces of thick clean whitefish (cod) and was cooked to perfection. I believe 2 dinners was around $30. It fed 3 adults and still had a piece and a half of fish when we were done. Onion rings were batter dipped and delicious. Slaw was pretty decent as well, very peppery (which I like). We will try it again when we are craving a good fish sandwich or platter. They make it fresh while you wait so expect about a 20 minute wait. But who don't want fresh fish?

So, if you have not found this place, you should! It's low key with a "Cheers" like atmosphere add karaoke and dancing and then you have New View! Super nice pool tables with a great smoking patio area... If it's not raining and you like cornhole... Do not hesitate to ask one of the regulars or the bartender to get the boards out. The regulars are always looking for others to play. Let's not forget the fish!! Sure they have your regular bar food, but they have a few little gems that are definitely sure to please any fish lover! Their fish sandwich rivals that of other well known fish places in the area. It's freshly battered and not frozen. The pieces are huge and flakey! Now add in their fish tacos!! Hits the spot, but be careful... They have a special sauce that goes on it can be quite fiery! Sensitive tastebuds beware and remember to request it with sour cream or tarter instead of the normal sauce that goes on it. The service you get at New View is always friendly and it does not take them many visits to know you by name or at least by drink.

Did not have a good first impression of this spot.I will comment that the bartender was fast and efficient although she did not charge me for most of the beers I drank which resulted in a loss of money for the bar?! Karaoke was fun to watch, small venue with a closed in feel.I will say as the night went on and it became more crowded, I did not care for the type of crowd that was attracted that night. Although this is clearly NOT the venues fault it was enough to do me in.I witnessed a lot of people making extreme poor public decisions outside which made me uncomfortable. Between the drug usage and sexual acts that were displayed left me unhappy with the bars crowd and won't be returning for another trip.

This is my L'Ville go to neighborhood bar...cheap drinks in a divey setting woofuckinghooo! Yep she's a keeper I know.I always enjoy my experience here, St. Patricks Day was a riot.Bartender always calls me honey and I love that shit.Bathroom looks and smells really funky.. probably because someone puked in it recently. Oh well! Nothing a bit of good ole Jameson can't fix..I got carded once, that was hilarious.

Grilled cheese is awesome! Two types of cheese and grilled to golden perfection. Fries with FREE/UNLIMITED ranch! Can't ask for better! Sherri is my favorite bartender and I only go to New View when I know she's working. :) She is the sweetest and knows all the regulars' names and their preferred drinks!

Tried it out tonight because I'm tired of cooking at home and for 15 bucks I had enough food to feed 2 and it was the best fresh cod!! The food was made to order & way more than my money's worth!! The lady working was especially sweet and made sure I had all of my condiments., first time there and will most definitely be back soon!!

Best fish in town. The staff is very friendly and the beer is cold !! A great place to watch any game or listen to good music.
