New China Buffet Restaurant

Even after hearing about their "C" health department rating, I will still probably eat at New China. I absolutely love Chinese buffets & I believe Owensboro could do with a few more. They do have a lot of non-Chinese foods on their buffet, but I believe these are great when taking younger or picky children out to eat with you. I love their General Tso's chicken & their noodles. I have had a few experiences when coming in later at night or when they're not very busy that the food has not been very fresh. I don't believe these reasons are excuses for this though, maybe they should start putting smaller trays of fresher food on their buffets instead of letting full pans just sit & sit. As far as service goes, I believe it has gotten a little better. In the past, I always felt rushed as I have had waitresses come to my table & literally say, " You pay now." I don't like being interrupted as I'm still eating my dinner & have to stop to pull out my wallet. But, this hasn't happened in a while. Even with the few mishaps, I love their food when it is fresh and will continue to eat here, even though I must say I don't come quite as often as I used to. But, you can't beat the prices for all you can eat.

People review these like they're supposed to be five star restaurants and they're not! It is what it is and this place isn't bad at all. I can't remember the last time I ate at a Chinese buffet, and the food was so hot. I had to let it cool down, but that's exactly what I got when I came here. It was very busy, super packed, and it was easy to see why. The foods not bad at all. For a Chinese buffet, I can promise you that if I am in Owensboro Kentucky again, and I will be, I will definitely eat here.

I can't speak to customers' opinions from years ago having only recently relocated to Owensboro, but my first and recent visit seems to match reasonably with more current reviews. I enjoy Asian food, and buffets. The variety and options appeal to me. My visit for the lunch buffet provided a mixed bag of impressions. Neat and clean, with a pleasant ambiance of cultural connections. Both the hot and sour soup, and the egg drop soup, were very good. Beef was consistently dry and slightly tough, across the board, in all varieties. Chicken was good, tender and tasty, except for the General Tso's chicken, which was also dry and tough, and tasted nothing at all like the traditional dish found elsewhere. Seafood was a mixed bag, some being quite tasty, others tasteless. Lo mien was excellent. Limited available greens were very good. Egg rolls were okay, spring rolls were substandard. Price was fair. buffet servers adequate for their purpose. I departed full, but disappointed. I expected a higher overall level of quality of the food. I suppose I've been spoiled by better Asian buffet restaurants elsewhere.

This place deserves a better rating than it has the place has changed a lot me and my wife went in right when they opened and they make everything by scratch food perfect Will definitely continue going back plus the price is a very good deal 20 bucks for 2 people

Ok, I from out of town and I eat this type and cook this type of food. The fare is varied and tasty. This is a clean buffet. My family has been nourished here for many years. I have been treated to lunch here numerous times. We enjoy the set up of the buffet. The diversity is the perfect balance for the Kentucky taste. The diversity is for this area. Just know you will leave full and happy. This place is packed every time I have visited. That has been a plus, fresh and vibrant trays of creative dishes. The downside is large. The people skills are horrible. The feel is one of extreme stress. I leave every time feeling so sorry for these people. They are so unhappy. i just cannot keep from thinking how better it could be.

Great variety a little pricey but it's pretty good.food although I don't eat seafood. Way better than Hong Kong. That place isn't edible . Service was great enjoyed my company too

Just ordered like 6 meals, 3 being general tso's and they all 3 were so overcooked my wife chipped a tooth on her chicken. I have been going to New china for decades always loved it but this is ridiculous. Tried to call and talk to them but they just argued or didn't understand.. I guess we need to find a new Chinese place, treated customers like crap!!!

Took my family here for a quick meal I watched one of the ladys come out of the back take food that was on the counter someone had spilled and throw it back in the buffet disgusting!!!!

The restaurant really gives off a good vibe with lots of decor and relaxing music. The waiters are nice to me everytime I come. The owner of this restaurant is always helping work it and he is very kind. The food is good, always hot and fresh. Lots of seating avaliable at all times and there is a big variety in food choices. 9.5/10 restaurant for me.

We went into this restaurant knowing that from the reviews it was going to be hit or miss. We went at noon on a Saturday. Really big selection of food, something for everyone. Food was delicious. No one we went with found anything they didn't like. Big selection of desserts and sushi. Only reason I took one star away was it could of been cleaner. Little dusting goes a long way. Bathroom wasn't gross but could use a good cleaning. Buffet area was cleaned and well stocked. I would go again.
