unfortunately there is no regulation on LOUD generators being run until 10pm. Stayed here for a long weekend and unfortunately the site next to us ran their LOUD generator for almost every moment we were at our site. We walked the loop before bedtim, trying to get a break from the loud noise, but realized the ENTIRE LOOP was affected by the loud generator. When there are plenty of sites with electrical hookups, generators should not be allowed Be considerate of your neighbors, leave the LOUD generators at home, and book a site that comes with electricity

Perfect facility! What a community! There is no stranger as everyone speaks and greets each other throughout the day. Car camping spot comes with a picnic table , fire pit, lantern pole, and small area to place items. Shower and bathroom areas are clean and there was never a wait for use.Trash can and fire wood on site at entrance to the camp grounds.Be prepared with bug spray and to check yourself and little ones for ticks. We had a raccoon visitor. If tent camping place food in car overnight if possible. I'm surprised no one reviewed the beach area on Yelp. It was hard to find. We drove a ways to Nolin State Park public beach. Small area but just right if you're looking for sun, sand, and water. There is a concession stand that was open from 1-7 pm. I thought that was brilliant and convenient. Overall wonderful experience! We would return.

This campground is in Southern Kentucky, about two hours from Lexington and overlooks Nolin River Lake. It's a COE (Corp Of Engineer) campground, with 167 reservable campsites. The view of the lake from the lakeside sites are amazing. The bad thing about the closest sites to the lake, is that those are nonelectric/water sites. I did see a couple of lakeside site with hookups in section D, which was the section where the beach area is. Section D seems like an entire different campground. It's the section closest to the marina. We walked to the marina, which was about a mile and a half from our loop, but it was a short walk from section D. I'm so glad that we didn't reserve a pontoon there though. They looked quite crappy, I would be too afraid that it would breakdown. We stayed in loop A on a Thursday through Sunday in last August and it was pretty much dead. Thursday and Friday there were only about ten campers in the entire campground. Saturday the pace picked up a bit. It still wasn't very busy at all, but maybe that was just the time of the season that we were there. Section C has the most private sites. It's just the lake, one row of primitive sites, the road and the wooded area. Because of the trees, there really wasn't a view of the lake from that section though. Maybe in the fall, when the leaves disappear, you might have a better view of the lake from that section C. Each site has a fire pit, picnic table, and extra taller table/serving area. The biggest surprise was that weeds infested the gravel pads. I would think that they would spray weed killer or something to keep the sites looking better. The sites were pretty spacious though, so maybe that would be too much to maintain. Nolin River Lake is my favorite lake in Kentucky and luckily there are several COE campgrounds that surround it. NRL is 5,795-acres, so it's not huge, but not too small either. We stayed in Cub Run at Dog Creek Campground last year. Even though I rated these both four stars, I personally I like Dog Creek better. There was more things to do in the area and the campground was maintained a bit better.

Great campground. It was hard to find to book reservations, but glad I discovered this gem. The prices can't be beat, it was clean, private, and bathrooms were great. We did tent camping so non-electric was fine. It was a bit more rowdy than other places I've been but after dark it did get quiet. We would certainly return if staying in the area!

We live in Indiana and nothing even comes close to these campgrounds, unbelievable camping spots on the lake , clean restrooms and showers and the employees are so helpful, as we where departing my wife made reservations for to more camp outings here this summer!! Indiana sure has a lot to learn from Kentucky when it comes to their parks !!

We travel with our camper to various states. This was by far the nicest and most beautiful camp site. It was so peaceful and overlooked the Nolin River Lake. We had a Muscovy duck visiting us in search for food. I'd never seen one before. Very different from the ducks in our Wisconsin hometown.

This was our first trip to an Army COE campground and our first trip to Kentucky. What an absolutely beautiful experience. Some of the nicest camping we have ever had. Clean and the views are spectacular. We are from Buffalo NY and this entire trip south has been great. We are seniors so the discount is very nice, very private and very safe. We met and had a wonderful conversation with a ranger there, his name was Lance. He was so informative about the campground and just had a wealth of knowledge. You are very lucky to have someone like him on your staff. Would we stay here again? You bet, hopefully next trip around. Bill and Donna Palmer Buffalo NY
