What a sunny, colorful spot! Love the hanging lanterns -- if it would have been just a little warmer, would have sat outside on the charming patio. The food was fresh and delicious. My lemongrass chicken banh mi had tons of flavor, and even the bread was fab. Also shared pork spring rolls with my friend, and they were great, too. I could have sipped the dipping sauce straight up. Excellent vibes and Vietnamese food.

I dined at Pho Ba Luu again, and still give a 3 star rating. When I arrived around noon there was no line at the counter so I was able to walk right up to order. I chose the lemongrass noodle bowl and added a spring roll to the bowl for $16+. Food is prepared in a line and most of the items are premade. I was surprised at the smaller portion of my meal. The chicken didn't have a lemongrass flavor and I could tell it had been prepared way in advance. The pickled items were the star of the dish. I want to love and support this place but the food just doesn't compare to some of the other Vietnamese restaurants in the community.

We first went to Pho Ba Luu on our 2021 trip to Louisville because they had gluten free options, and who doesn't like pho? The food didn't wow me, but the food was solid and inexpensive -- $15 for a large bowl of pho which was very filling. (The majority of the menu is under $15.) When we went to Louisville in 2023, we went back to Pho Ba Luu (twice!). I also discovered that they sold wine!If you want a cheap, filling meal (and a glass of wine), Pho Ba Luu is the place to go.[Yelp collections: Louisville/Indianapolis 2023; Louisville, KY 2023; Louisville, KY 2021]

I've already been back twice! Whether it's take out or it's eating out this is the spot! The lemongrass seasoned tofu sauté noodle bowl is everything to me! It's vegan, fresh, deliciously flavorful & filling! The service is great and always kind! And if it's summer I can't recommend sitting in the back patio enough - there's sun, shade and plenty of room!

Craving Thai food on a beautiful day? Come to Pho Bao! I love the bahn mi, but in the winter, the pho is amazing! Greta patio, solid local drink choices, and super fresh, flavorful food.

I'm convinced that Pho Ba Luu, a Vietnamese restaurant on East Main Street, is exactly what is needed in this insane season of sickness. On the tail-end of a COVID quarantine, we are still masking and therefore unable to dine-in any establishment. Third-party delivery services have become our new best friends. Sometimes weary of ordering Pho via delivery, Pho Ba Luu continues to impress.I'm not a vegetarian, but do like to substitute for other proteins at times. I ordered the Vegetarian Pho because the tofu is marinated to my liking and lemongrass is always appealing when I'm feeling unwell. My husband had Beef Pho, which I opted not to taste, but he was pleased. We shared Shrimp Spring Rolls. An order of Shrimp Spring Rolls comes with two steamed shrimp rolled in rice paper with vermicelli noodles, lettuce, basil, mint and bean sprouts. It's served with bean sauce or gluten free soy sauce. The Vegetarian Pho (pictured below) has lemongrass marinated tofu with carrot, Napa cabbage and mushrooms in house-made vegetable broth with rice noodles, scallions, white onion and a medley of vegetables and herbs. It includes the expected accruements, bean sprouts, jalapeños, basil, lime, hoisin, and Sriracha sauce (per my request). I ordered through Uber Eats and, in my opinion, this restaurant is more affordable than similar establishments. Our food was packaged perfectly, fresh, and hot. It was substantial and satisfying. I felt significantly better after eating. I'm not saying it's the cure for COVID, but it's worth giving it go on a cold day, a rainy day, when you have the flu, or just because it's downright delicious.

I haven't had a lot of good Pho....buttttt THIS PLACE is off the chain! Flavor basket of yumminess! Tender chicken and delicious deep chicken flavor. Everything tastes very fresh. (Not shown) they give you a rolled up brown bag with basil, fresh cut jalapeños and bean sprouts that you add on the top! Let me tell you - dump it all if you like that spice because they don't use punk jalapeños!!! Soooo good! The rice noodles were perfectly cooked as well. The place is very nice, staff is awesome and super sweet. It's quiet and nice to slurp in the deliciousness and have a good conversation. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!Our friend had the beef pho and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife had the veggie dumplings and she said they were delicious!

Pho is my ultimate comfort food. Sick? Eat pho. Cold? Eat pho. Sad? Eat pho. Dehydrated? Eat pho. Lacking in salt? Eat pho. Hankering to practice your chopstick skills? Eat pho.Louisville has many excellent places to find this magical bowl of soup, and Pho Ba Luu is one such place. My dining companion and I both ordered the vegetarian pho (also gluten free for those to whom this is important). The vegetables were cooked perfectly, the noodles were not too soft nor too tough, and the tofu (beautifully seasoned and fried) held its own, which is saying something when it's served in a bowl of broth. Speaking of - the broth is what sets Pho Ba Luu's veggie pho apart. This broth is complex, multi-layered, savory, and topped with a generous splosh of toasted sesame oil. I am relatively certain I could drink a gallon of it with ease.Pricing is reasonable, $13 per bowl. Only 2 minor drawbacks:1. More broth - those bowls are big - fill them up!2. Hotter - the pho arrived hot-ish, but quickly cooled to room temp. Some steam and tongue burning would not have been unappreciated. That broth though - I'm already planning my return visit.

Ambience at this place was fun and service was friendly and good. Unfortunately though the food was mid and overpriced. Spring rolls were meager and no greens in them, also had a weird taste. Mango iced tea was bitter. I had the beef pho, it was fine but again very meager accoutrements that came with it. If you're looking for legit vietnamese, I suggest elsewhere. If you're looking for more of a quick bite, this place will do

In town for a concert. We decided to go for pho. Didn't get pho but what we got was lick-the-bowl-clean-if-it-were-socially-acceptable good. This place is DELISH. And the music is pretty good too. Definitely recommend and I will be back if I come down for another show!
