I finally got an opportunity to dine in here. My sister always gets hers to go when she passes through town but I prefer to dine in. After the pandemic there were staffing shortages everywhere, well you know the story. Every time I stopped in over the last couple of years, their dining room was closed. So I'm glad things are back to normalcy again.I was surprised how large the dining area is inside. I also was surprised how large the menu was, and I don't mean the big sign inside the door; I mean the wide variety of combos and entrees. The best thing they serve here are the onion rings! Definitely in top five all time best onion rings I've ever had!!I ordered the Fish & Shrimp Combo. My granddaughter got their chicken and the Ex got the onion rings. I ate half of them and wished I had ordered them instead of fries. The fish is good here. Way above average. And the onion rings are worth the trip. Did I mention I love their onion rings? The restroom was clean and stocked. The dining room tables and floor were clean. Service was excellent. Parking was more than plentiful.

Moby Dick's slipped a bit this visit. Fried clams were nice and hot, perfectly fried. The Cole slaw is still good, even the hush puppy was decent. The fails? Cold, limp fries and flat Diet Coke. As always, service was efficient and friendly. I just wish they had a better product to serve. Maybe next visit they'll get back on track.

My family and I moved here to Jeffersonville over a year ago, and I hadn't tried this place until a few days ago. I paid about 9 bucks (give or take) for THIS fish sandwich, a half order of Onion rings, and a coke...Seriously? The fish wasn't bad, but for 9 bucks, the bread should have been better than a dollar tree loaf and at least dressed a bit. I literally got two slices of non-toasted wheat bread around a piece of fried fish. They probably fry EVERYTHING together, because the O-rings seemed to have a bit of a fishy taste. I mean, for 9 bucks or so, you might as well go to Long John's or Dock's. Owners and managers, if you're reading this, if you think this meal was worth 9 bucks with tax, it's not.

Moby Dick is what is it and it does a decent job at it. It's a good place to pick up some fried seafood to take home or eat quickly. All locals know that it's just a fast food joint. They cook to order so you can pretty much guarantee that your food will at least be hot and freshly fried. I don't find their coating to be anything special with any type of flavor, but for a quick sandwich on rye with tartar, I'm not all that picky. The fish size of the first mate sandwich seemed to be smaller than I remember. The tartar sauce at the dispenser was runny and the consistency of mayonnaise. It was high on the mayo and low on the rest of the ingredients. That was a bummer, as I like to use tartar on my hush puppies like they do down South. The hush puppies in fact needed much help. They were decent sized but greasy. The grease had penetrated the cornmeal and affected the flavor. They seemed like they were not fried at a hot enough temperature or for too long. The coleslaw is really good, but they are proud of it. I substituted my fries for a large coleslaw and thought they gave me a small one on accident. Turns out I had the large one. Who knew! It was good slaw though. I also ordered a cup of Clam Chowder, which is the reason I picked MD in the first place since it is out of my way. The cup was small for a cup, I thought. It had an okay flavor but very little clams and not even much in the way of potatoes. I know MD is fast food but I've actually had better Clam Chowder at Long John Silver's for cheaper. The place was clean but dated as all MD's are. That's fine by me; reminds me of my childhood visits with Grandma and that can't be a bad thing. The staff was young but friendly, efficient, and sans attitude (always a plus). I will go back I'm sure, but I won't make a trip for Chowder again, order extra hush puppies, or expect a big piece of fish.

Very disappointing. I LOVE Moby Dick. I've been a customer for over forty years. This was my last ever visit here. Three strikes , you're out. This store should be put on life support. Main parking lot sign dark in the night. Ceiling tiles black water stained, a few collapsing. Counter staff couldn't get the order right. The manager standing nearby watching Steve Harvey on tv. First time ever served cold onion rings and a greasy hush puppy. The fish was unevenly cooked. The rye bread and the lemon slices were very good.

Customer Service is obviously not a priority here, will never return. Kingfish will have my business in the future, at least there you can substitute your coleslaw that you will not eat for a hush puppy. Obviously an order of coleslaw costs more to make than one hush puppy!!! Totally dissatisfied!!!
