Decent overall, watch as downtown traffic picks up.Good hostess. Table linens not completely clean (buy glass to go over linen?). Mellow Frank Sinatra era music. Quiet restaurant ideal for conversation. Food is okay- good variety but I did not see much of healthier choice but did not ask. Garlic bread and salad average. Bathroom clean but men's door hard to close. Carpet ancient but reasonably clean. Atmosphere good, house Pinot good.Honesty there are better choices downtown but this is an option for a quiet relaxed meal in casual setting. A little attention to aesthetic detail and a revamped menu and this place will move up a notch. Prices reasonable - about $14 for entree which includes family-style salad and rolls.

Hands down, the BEST food and friendliest service in Evansville. Excellent place to go for lunch, the service is quick and an outstanding selection of pizza, stromboli, calzone and pasta varieties are hot, fresh and ready. Fresh ingredients are on the little salad bar that you can make to go.Lunch combos are a really great value, you get pizza slices, calzone, stromboli or pasta plus a salad, delicious hot roll and drink for less than $7.Today I had an excellent cheese calzone and I plan to return soon for pasta and pizza.I was directed to Milano's by local Evansville firefighters who highly recommended it as the best place for lunch. And you know firefighters know good food! I am only in Evansville on business for a few weeks but if I lived here I would be a lunch regular at Milano's. I really appreciated the friendly, enthusiastic servers. A stop here will brighten up even this cold and snowy day.

The bread is clearly frozen and drenched in olive oil. Super tough. The salad is poorly presented and drenched in olive oil. Ravioli is also clearly frozen and then over recooked. Penne with marinara sauce was Ragu something I can cook at home. I do not recommend.

Just love this restaurant! Delicious food, very reasonable prices, personable owner who makes you feel like you're his long lost friend, and the best ever garlic knot rolls with pesto sauce!

I'd give this place like a 3.7 - not exactly a 4, but close. Here's my thoughts:Pros: Cool setup for ordering...Fast service...I had the pepperoni calzone - it was super good. Like a hot pocket, the ends of it were kinda dry and filling-less...but you'll have that with most calzones, so it's whatever. And the rest was delish...Service was good...location was cool...rolls that came with everything were SO good. Cons: The pasta we had was a bit bland...The music they played wasn't really fitting the atmosphere (lol, titanic music and elevator music)...Other than those things, which aren't a big deal, the place was a good eat for the price (:

The place was completely empty when we walked in and for the duration of our meal. Granted it was a Monday night, but it was 7:00pm. So needless to say, the service was great. The salad (iceberg) was soaked in dressing. The dinner rolls, though good, were coated in sitting in a pool of garlic butter which meant you couldn't really eat more than one or two and you couldn't wipe up pasta sauce with them. The pasta was good, not fantastic by any means, but worth the money. The coffee was WEAK. You know it's weak coffee when you can see the bottom of the cup when it's full.

This is my favorite lunch spot downtown Evansville. Great staff - the owner is very personable and conversational. Great food! My favorite is the rigatoni carbonara. I found it much better than another downtown Italian eatery. Plus, you can fix your own salad. I have always been very happy eating here and would highly recommend it.

Decided to try this place last night for dinner. It wasn't crowded at all, the waiter was very nice. The atmosphere was a little strange. It looks like it hasn't been updated in decades and was decorated in the typical Italian-American sort of way. The salad and rolls were free with our meals which I will say were pretty tasty. The salad dressing was a pretty usual Italian style oil/vinegar situation; not sure if they make it themselves but I quite enjoyed it. The garlic rolls were tasty and fresh. We also got toasted ravioli which was also good, maybe a little oily. I got chicken parm for an entree and I was somewhat disappointed. The chicken texture was weird and it was dry. There was also a lot of grease that had leached out from the cheese on my plate. The sauce was unremarkable. Had better, had worse. They do also make pizza which I'm curious to try. But as of now, I don't think I would recommend this place. Theres simply better options for Italian food in town.

We are trying to visit local restaurants and chose Milanos and we are so glad that we did! When we called he said it would be an hour, I was surprised but said okay. He called right back and said it would only be 30 minutes since it was a smaller order. I was so happy, but not as happy as when we got home and tasted the food! I got the chicken parmigiana and my husband got the lasagna. We were both very happy. We each got a good size salad with our meal and it was very reasonably priced. We will be back!
