Mike’s Fish and Chicken

The Good - the seasoning on the fried shrimp was AWESOME. Would come back just for that - they were fantastic. The gyro my buddy got also was good - he said he would order it again. Also, the guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful.The "Meh" - the fries were just okay. But my buddy liked them - I thought they would have similar seasoning to the chicken or shrimp.The service took a little bit longer that I anticipated - I thought it would be more of a fast food feel, but to dine in, we needed at least 30 minutes. That's not bad - I just assumed (wrongly) it was more of a casual, fast feel.Would come back again!

Mikes fish and chickenWe had a hankering for fish and Mike's Fish and Chicken in Florence Ky popped up. It had very good reviews...We arrived at the restaurant and the young lady working was pleasant and friendly. We asked her what her favorites were and she said everything was good, some days she has the fish and others the chicken. She provided an extensive menu for our review.We took the menu and perused, decided to do one fish (cod) and one chicken tender meals with zucchini sticks.When the meals arrived the chicken looked good, the fish looked not so good. The cod was an off color best described as gray and was irregularly shaped ( looked more like perch). The fish was more breading and a bit greasy, definitely a fishy taste. The zucchini sticks were breading and mush ) very watery. The chicken was moist however the breading sloughed off when cutting and it had an off taste. The only things edible without comment were the fries and coleslaw. My wife and I both only consumed small bites of the food and decided it was not worth risking... should have followed our instincts and went elsewhere immediately. The menu is too extensive to be able to provide quality entrees.We stopped on the way home and picked up a pizza for lunch.Very disappointed, Mike's will not be on our list in the future.

We were up in this area in a business meeting coming from Lexington Ky. and wanted to find a restaurant nearby and not a chain. I asked my phone find restaurants near me and am glad Mike's Fish and Chicken came up. It was quick and my fish dinner was excellent. I am glad I ordered the two piece dinner because the catfish pieces were really huge and tasty. My husband even ate part of my fish since I was full. He ordered a fish sandwich which came with fries. My dinner included fries and a small container of coleslaw which was excellent. This meal was great and hit the spot.

First let me say that the flavor is good and that we will be back! Our fish was very overcooked and dry that we couldn't eat a decent portion of it. The fried pickles were shriveled up inside because of how over cooked they were. We asked for the catfish nuggets because my son LOVES catfish and when we got home he was completely heartbroken to see it was just chicken nuggets. Luckily my husband also got catfish so we were able to get him some. The fries could use more salt and seasoning.The lady taking our order was so kind and friendly. The wait wasn't very long. 10 minutes. Im going to give the benefit of the doubt and hope that this was just an off day for them today. I hope our next visit is better!

I really like their gyros and their catfish platters. It's always consistently good. They remind me of the catfish I used to eat when I was a child that my mother would cook. These are slightly a little more oily, but that's my only negative.

Very good food in a clean restaurant!I had the Philly cheesteak & fries, and it was probably the best I've had outside of Penn Station, locally. My wife had the gyro & enjoyed it, as well.

My brother and I were on a road trip a few weeks back and came across Mike's when a different, nearby fried chicken place was not allowing inside dining. Walking into Mike's, one might get the impression that it is a fledgling business. It is very simple, very unassuming with a snack bar-"esque" vibe. We are not very uppity people when it comes to getting our grub on, so we were comfortable with giving it a go at satisfying our fried chicken cravings.We both ordered the chicken and fish combination, for which we both also selected the three deep fried whole chicken wings and two fried corn meal-battered catfish filets. The meal came with a large portion of fries and a small 2-3oz coleslaw side. And, as one might expect in a place like Mike's, the meal came served in styrofoam and plastic, as shown in the food pics for this business.Upon getting our food at our table, we were impressed by the size of the catfish filets. And, while we actually came in to settle our urges to eat fried chicken, the catfish ended up being the star of this show! The filets were large and piping hot. In fact, everything was so temperature hot, we had to give things a moment to cool down before we could really dive in. Once we did dive in, we were not disappointed in the least.Everything was tasty; the fried catfish was succulent and delicious! I actually regretted not ordering all catfish and, if I lived near Mike's, it would be the place to which i would sneak off while my wife's at work, just so I could more frequently scratch my catfish cravings itch! It was VERY good!Mike's was very clean from all appearances. The staff was friendly and attentive. And, there was no slime in the ice machine, which is always a major plus! I'm giving Mike's five stars, because when I do my Yelp* reviews and ratings, I do them using a "similar establishment" scale or standard, so that the business is considered fairly against its relative competition. And, on THAT note, I highly recommend a trip to Mike's for chicken and catfish, or catfish and catfish!Whatever you choose, I'm pretty sure you will not be disappointed with Mike's!Eat well. Be well. Decent enough, got a burger, milkshake was good but overpriced, 10.99 lunch deal is good deal, better burger than McDonald's. Wonder how good the Kebob, had the shawarma previously, really bad.

One of my favorite places to get lunch for work. I go at-least once every couple weeks. The staff is always very friendly. The food is just as budget friendly as fast-food but with the quality of a sit down dinner.

We were traveling and stopped for lunch at Mikes Fish and Chicken. Both my husband and I ordered the two piece fish dinner. Oh my, it was delicious! The fish was most definitely the star of the meal, lightly breaded and served piping hot. The fish was fresh, perfectly cooked, and not a bit greasy. It was the best fried fish I have had in a long long time (maybe ever!). The service was friendly and efficient. It may not look fancy from the outside but don't let that deter you, the food was delicious. .
