Michter's Distillery

We stopped in to the bar for a drink or two and are so glad we did! The bartenders were fantastic, from their cocktail creations to recommendations for what else to see and do on our travels. The music was also fantastic, setting up a nice, cozy, and nostalgic vibe.

Tour and tasting was great. Learned about the history of the location, learned about their toasting method and how they put the bourbon into the barrels at a lower proof.

We love Michters borban, so our visit to Louisville would not have been complete without a trip to the upstairs bar at Michters Distillery, The Bar at Fort Nelson. And they did not dissapoint. The bar and seating areas are warm and inviting, however it is the bartender David that made our evening! Quite the mixologist he is. We had two rounds, and unforturnately, I cannot recall the names of the drinks, but they were outstanding, in both taste and presentation, including lovely glassware. A big thanks to the general manager Nick for ensuring we had a great visit!

I really enjoy Michter's. Touring the new Distillery was a real treat. Besides an amazing venue, the staff was most excellent. I would be amiss not mentioning the 2nd floor bar. Don't forget to head upstairs before or after the tour.
