Mi Ranchito

This is a clean and cheerful Mexican restaurant. The staff was attentive and responsive. They kept me supplied in water. There was a good crowd on the Monday night when I dined. I noticed they had margaritas if you were so inclined. The menu was full and very reasonable. I had enchiladas with Verde sauce. I enjoyed every bite. The prices were very reasonable.

I am in the area for work and had a taste for Mexican food. Tried to call in an order and no one answered. So, I figured I would just stop in and grab it on my way to my hotel. Walked in and the person seating people was helpful with taking my order. Order was quick. Then I had to pay, and when I tell you the old man behind the counter was not happy or interested in me trying to pay for my food. I was clearly interrupting his novela time on his phone. He was rude. I paid and then he went back to his phone. I had to say " My food?" He rolled his eyes and then turned around to get the food that was sitting there. Wow.Food was 3/5Service 1/5I won't be back. Once was enough.

You may find Mi Ranchito a little off the beaten path, but it is worth the trip down Carter Road. There is ample parking on both sides of the building. They have a large L-shaped dining room that doesn't feel crowded even with a large party. The menu is quite extensive, so you may want to take a few minutes to look it over. My personal favorite is the chicken fajitas. I don't know what they season them with, but they are perfect!!! If you like it spicy like I do, ask for hot sauce....it's a treat, a little smoky with some good heat!!!! We have always had great, fast service. Oh... did I mention warm chips???

We eat here regularly. The food good but often waiters struggle with English. Margaritas are not very good, weak.

Tonight was our last night at Mi Ranchitos. Me and the boys like many nights stopped to have a late dinner. They took our order brought our drinks back and khelin had a short straight hair on his cup, no biggie called the server over. He takes the water, cool. He brings back a water I'm thinking alright we're cool. Khelin looks at the rim of his cup and it's lip stick and a hunk of what looks to be food on the rim of the cup. Khelin's 11 so two incidents, is really pushing it at this point him and kameron are grossed out. I'm thinking okay maybe they have a new dishwasher. Few minutes pass and out comes our food, it looks delicious! Me and the boys are starving so we're about to dig in and khelin pulls a long straight grey hair out of his food. Everyone knows we ALL HAVE CURLY HAIR! So now I'm livid becaise 3xs I mean I get a bad night but come on. I'm still cool but at this point we're ready to just leave! The waiter comes over and we tell him what's going on I then flag my waiter and give her the run down, 3 dirty cups and now a hair in his food. I'm a business woman myself and sometimes even with accidents you just have to suck it up and take accountability. I've been going to mi Ranchitos for YEARS I get my clients to order to-go from here ALL THE TIME! I LITERALLY MARKET THEIR MARGARITAS LIKE I HAVE OWNERSHIP. LMAO I then asked the waiter for the check mind you she said she was taking this stuff off. I look at my bill and with 3 empty stomachs hair and dirty cups it came up to 30 bucks literally took nothing off and all the food sat right in the table. I was asked to speak to the owner a man who has seen me for years come into their establishment. I told him what happened and told him I would pay if that's what he believed we owed but I wouldn't be backk if thats how we were going to be treated . HE THEN TOLD ME AND MY TWO BOYS HE NEVER WANTED TO SEE OUR FACE! WITH THAT BEING SAID, I WILL MISS HAVING A HANG OUT FOR A QUICK GIRLS DAY DATE. BUT I WILL NEVER BE BACK AND I WISH I COULD HAVE ALL THE MONEY I'VE BROUGHT TO THIS COMPANY. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND HURT!

Well our food was truly delicious and very generous portions. Make sure to order the tomatillo salsa if you're craving something different than the red salsa they serve with the chips. I ordered the guacamole (which looks innocuous) but it was surprisingly yummy. The service on the whole was satisfactory except for one glitch. Family oriented.. lots of families were enjoying themselves. Noise level very tolerable, unless you're a grouchy, miserable person. If I lived in Owensboro, I would be a regular here.

Good food and service. Nice ambiance. Staff and management friendly and attentive. Margarita and food is great. Very busy place, very popular. I go here at least once a week. Recommended highly by me and my friends.

I did NOT see ROACHES on the menu. When I arrived to this store, it wasn't as busy as usual, which I guess is a good thing, because after me and my family sat down, my toddler brothers food was brought out, just fries because he's a picky eater, HOWEVER, that is NOT what he received, he told us the fries were good the first few bites, then, he saw something a little extra crispy, and can you guess what it was? a ROACH, a choking hazard, he told us "there's a bug in my food.." and at first we didn't believe him, until we pulled it out, and when we asked about it, the waitress picked it up, looked at it funny and brought it took the back as if he was checking if it was their species of infestation and took it to the back. We asked for a refund and only received one for my toddler brothers food, however, I could not eat there comfortably knowing there was BUGS in the food. Unacceptable.

Our crew was visiting from AL and this place was recommended by a local! This was THE BEST authentic Mexican food we have had in a long time. Every single thing we got could not have been better. The cheesecake and Tres De Leches cakes were also PHENOMENAL. Service was friendly, and fast. The ambience was clean and on point. 100/10. THIS PLACE IS A MUST TRY
