Real good cuts at reasonable prices. Prepackaged turkey breasts, prepackaged BBQ are extra tasty and will always want to grab some fresh cuts of meat.Facility is clean, customer service is amazing.

My great grandmother purchased all her meat products at Merkley's over a half century ago. We still go down from Indianapolis, roughly once a year, and stock on all things cow and pig. The selection is immense. They have all manners of sausage. They have all manners of beef. They have all manners of chicken. They will even custom butcher livestock you bring it to them, for a nominal fee. Merkley's is also a throwback for grocery shopping. It's not just going to the mega mart and picking up random bits on styrofoam trays, covered in cellophane. You can talk to the butcher, ask for recommendations and opinions. They'll gladly tell you all you need to know. First, go to Walmart. Buy the biggest cooler you can fit in your car. And get down to Merkley and Son's. You should also get ice, but they will give you a bag of ice if you ask nicely. Oh, and finally, and get a box of wheat thins. It's for the ham salad. They make their own ham salad in house and in my humble opinion, it's worth the trip all by itself.

It's a good distance from where I live but it's worth the drive. Affordable you get a huge benefit buying meat in bulk. I drive from Jeffersonville and my meat is still solid as a rock. They cut the meat and package the way you want it.

We moved to Texas...where beef is king...but sometimes you want some treif-tastic pork. The meat here is high quality at super affordable prices. We filled up the cooler before heading back home and plan on doing the same next Christmas. The food may not be certified 100 percent organic and all that jazz, and it kind of sucks that they don't take Debit cards...but that's why they only got five stars...not six.

Excellent customer service and outstanding prices on fresh meats, cheeses, and misc. pantry items. They take cash and food stamps but no credit or debit cards. If you are looking for something but not sure what it is you are even looking for they take the time to explain all the options and pricing to you so you can make the best choice for you and your wallet. We will be getting our fresh meats from them for now on as it is cheaper than the grocery store and the customer service is stellar.

As. Good. As. It. Gets. Period.Did I say Period? Because I mean it. Period. They butcher and make everything there. They use local farmers whenever possible. The selection is amazing...and if you don't see what you want in the case, no matter! They are more than pleased to cut you anything you want.I've been having Merkley's meats, famous hot dogs, sausages (to DIE FOR), hamburgers, etc my whole life. When I moved to Dallas, I pine for this place. Over the holiday, we drove to Indiana with an empty cooler that took up half our back seat. We stuffed it full of Merkley meat and drove it to Dallas.Yes, it's that good.Yes, it's priced that well. I could not believe their prices after having been away for almost 2 years. Sticker shock, but in a good way this time!I just cannot say enough about this place. Patient, well-staffed, well-honed machine of ordering and getting out as quickly as you can. This really is the best option I have ever been to for a butcher. Ever. In any city.Bring cash...they do not take cards. But I don't care. You bet your ass I'll make a trip to the ATM for this place.

I have gone out of my way for many years to do business with Merkley's, but not anymore! Yes, their products are excellent & fairly priced, however, MOST will agree the employees do not know the meaning of "customer service".....with a couple of exceptions, they repeatedly act as if their patrons are an annoyance! From now on I will gladly take my business elsewhere!

I am a huge fan of Merkley Meats. Everything that I have had there is excellent. I recommend the frozen meatloaf (I will never make my own again), their large selection of flavored brats (pizza, taco, mushroom and swiss - our my husband's favorites). It is overwhelming the first time that you go in....however, if you want to look around just let those behind you move ahead of you in line. The only thing I would change is the ability to use debit cards. I just do not carry cash on me in today's world. But it saves me money because I am forced to spend less than I otherwise would.

If you want the best you must go to Merkley & Sons for all of your meat/cheese needs. We drive over 1000 miles (1,037 miles to be exact) to enjoy their amazing products. I can't express our appreciation enough for their time honored attention to detail/care for producing the very best hot dogs, sausages, and various cuts of meat. It's very much worth the long drive. We've been going to Merkley's for over 25 years now. They are consistent with their quality and customer service. Don't give your hard earned money to a big box retailer...go to the locally owned stores/vendors like Merkley's. It's worth the drive!
