Gorgeous venue for so many small businesses in one property, as well as rental space for events. We happened to visit during the large VegFest event on a Saturday and parking was easy early in the day around 11 AM and progressively became a bit nightmarish in the mid-afternoon when we made our way to leave. The buildings appeared to be in terrific shape and are fairly unique compared to the typical venue. We were able to view one space rented for a wedding, another for the VegFest, and multiple spaces devoted to art, clothing, jewelry, and food. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are easily accessible.

We attended the Flea Off Holiday Market for 2024. There was plenty of parking, but something needs to be done with the lack of any railings on the large wide stairway into the venue where the event was held. There is nothing to hold onto or assist a person who isn't too steady on stairs. Luckily, I was with others who helped me. Why would a venue have a stairway without railings? I didn't see any signage indicating easy access to the venue rooms. That being said the rooms were extremely nice and the flow of people was easy. No problem of stopping to view vendors wares. The Flea Off is always a fun experience.

Terrible customer service!!! People please be advised!!! We rented the Picasso room at Mellwood Art Center for a wedding and due to some unfortunate changes we needed to cancel. We rented it for June 28th of 2025. We had put a 2000 dollar deposit down to hold it. We called July 11th of 2024 because we needed to cancel it. Yes we do understand that we signed a contract and we understand that we are to be held accountable but they would not even work with us on this in anyway. They have almost the whole year to re rent the venue. They pretty much told us to bad so sad you signed a contract and wouldn't even give us half back. They wouldn't even work with us and if they rented the space on that date then refund us. It's a beautiful space yes but people please read your contract and understand they will not work with you in the least!!! Terrible business ethic!! Like I said we do understand that we should lose some but damn not all!!!

This review is for IMME within the MAC. Tucked away within the corridors of the center, is a quaint little spot. When you walk in, you feel immediately at ease, a certain sense of calm. There's so many beautiful things to see from jewelry to quartz/crystals, waist beads (we'll get back to that) to clothing. I was there for a scheduled fitting, I believe the time block was an hour but it didn't take that long. SO many beads!! The beautiful lady that helped me was knowledgeable/helpful and patient. REMEMBER!! Don't hold your breath or suck in your belly. I ended up with two strands and she retied an existing strand. You can get anything from multicolored beads to quartz that have meaning. Can I just state, Ms Badu will be in town for a concert and IMME has everything to get you fitted. This Black Owned Business was much needed, in my opinion, a place to feel comfortable and prideful. I will definitely return, there's a singing bowl and more beads I need!! Oh, the only reason for only the four stars? If you're not familiar with the Mellwood Art Center, you may find the store hard to locate!

I'm glad I finally got to come here! It's an interesting vibe. Lots of brick and it feels like a hidden place to explore in the city. It's almost like a warehouse feel.Lots of events are held here, including weddings. Not a lot of places were open when we walked around. It felt a bit empty for a Thursday early afternoon. They have an art gallery here, photography shops, an exercise studio, antique shop, etc. It was fun to walk around and see what they had though. Parking is free here which is nice. I'm sure I'll be back for an event.

After many visits to Mellwood Arts over the years I've gotten to experience the space several years ways -- shopping artist studios, attending a yoga or music class, attending an art fair in the lot and main buildings, eating pizza in the courtyard. My brother had his wedding reception there and this weekend I attended a wedding in the courtyard. Mellwood has a basic feel to it and in some sections it's gritty, which is deemed acceptable because it is a space for artists. While the venue space is large it's also boring. There's no character and decor is left up to the group renting the space. For my brother's reception we spent hours wrapping white lights around poles and decorating tables. Parking is available in a small lot near the buildings and also a large gravel lot across the street at the bottom of the hill. If you are visiting with people that aren't strong walkers you should drop them off near the buildings.

I nice place for a lunch or dinner out. Plenty of shops. Good people, clean with plenty of parking and great artist. Being in the old Mellwood plant has so much history the building is amazing.

The former home to the Bacon-Makin People, otherwise known as the Fischer Meat packing plant, now houses an antique mall, artist studios/galleries, specialty stores, office spaces, fitness businesses, rehearsal areas for dancers and theatre groups, a pizza place, and much more. They have space available for rent and have hosted art fairs, concerts, and film festivals, just to name a few. Almost twenty years ago, they traded in hogs hanging by their hocks for art hanging on the walls. It smells much better now. I've been here several times over the years since they repurposed this space. It's nice, and I'm glad this old plant didn't sit vacant or get razed. They seem to have quite a bit going on here to keep it healthy and vital. Danny Mac's Pizza and Mellwood Antiques seem to be some of the biggest draws for daily customers, along with the fitness studios. It's an eclectic mix here and a good use of space. The location is convenient from the east and downtown, and is just off of I-71 at Zorn.
