Market on 42

This is a cute little local eatery! My parents love this place, so decided to try it out. I will note, I had two young kids (2 and 3) and it wasn't as kid friendly with food, but they did enjoy a grilled cheese. The food took a bit to come out as there were a few in front of us. Wait wasn't bad, but hard for my young kids. I thought this place was an interesting concept and a great little place to stop for a sandwich. I had a build your own with turkey, cheese and mushrooms and it was delicious! If I'm ever passing by by myself, I'll definitely stop again. Also got someLocal ice cream to go as well!

On a particular Saturday my wife and I were looking for a new place to try for lunch. We came upon Market on 42, which since my wife grew up in Olden County, remembers the location as the Goshen General Store.We made the short drive up 42 and pulled in. The parking lot was full, so we had to park around the picnic tables. As we entered we were greeted by old wood floors and filled tables.Being our first time we wanted to try as much food as we could, so we ordered 2 sandwiches to share along with a bowl of French Onion Soup.We had the Hot French and the Reuben. Both sandwiches had a great taste and plenty of toppings. Luckily, a table opened up and we got to enjoy our meal in the building. As we set there, the line grew longer and longer . When we completed our meal, there were at least 14 people in line. Several observations:1) Be patient. It takes them a few minutes to build your meal to order.2) Be prepared not to have a table if you come around lunch time.3) The French Onion Soup was very good, maybe little on the sweet side, but it had no cheese . Not a deal breaker but an observation. By how quickly the soup ran out, I can attest that it was a very popular item the day we were there.I am glad to see a really good sandwich shop open up on 42. My wife and I plan to patronize them every chance we get.

Market on 42 is now open in Goshen. They have a wide variety of products and some really nice selections. Give them a try if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed

The owners here will order local ingredients for you! They are so nice and they make great soup. I had the cabbage and kilbasa soup today and all my coworkers were jealous!

Love Market on 42. The owners are wonderful and the food is delicious. We've stopped in for breakfast the past two Saturdays and I came back for lunch today. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing, the grab and go salad, pasta salad and a cup of French onion soup were perfect.

Yum!!! Great hot sandwiches on a cold day. We had the The Hot French and Not a Pizza. Very flavorful and fresh.Next time we'll give the daily soup a try.

I love finding small local eateries to try, and this one did not disappoint!! Great fresh food at a reasonable price! My favorites were the Reuben sandwich - it was perfectly toasted and melty... chef's kiss - and the arugula salad which had the perfect combo of sweet and savory with the sliced apples, feta cheese and pecans Will definitely be back!
