Marimba Mexican Restaurant

The food here is extremely similar to most Mexican restaurants, the huge difference here is that you will be spending about 1-2 dollars less here than you would elsewhere in town per dish. Beers are 2+ dollars cheaper than everywhere else in town for the large drafts. Service is always solid and the ambiance is great if you can get out in the deck for live music!

Good quality food and spacious interior. Took a bit to get our food, but overall would come back!

Been going to Marimba's for many years. Always a great experience! Great food, service, and prices.

We have a friend that plays music here on Thursday nights and we go there to dine on the deck while listening to him play. Great ambiance and food!

My family and I have dined here twice and both times have been great experiences! We were seated immediately, our waiter was courteous, prompt, and friendly, our drink orders were taken right away, and brought out to us shortly after, and we were given chips and salsa right after sitting down. Their salsa has a little kick to it, which I love! We have had both their lime and strawberry margarita pitchers (on the rocks), and while I typically like my margaritas a bit stronger, they were very tasty! First time there, I ordered a quesadilla and the second time, a chimichanga. Both were VERY good! My entire family enjoyed their meals as well. We will be returning!

I really wanted to up their reviews. DO NOT get me wrong.. their food is amazing, like so so so good!!!! When we pulled in, there was all kinds of cars. The place was packed.. so I am thinking, "This is going to be a fiesta!" They have a huge outside patio.. so of course we chose that, DUH. We sat for over ten minutes before we got drink orders. Things were going smoothly until we waited over 30 minutes for our check.. and we never got beer refills. The table next to us even said, "Oh yeah, it is so good.. but the service sucks!" The people are so nice.. but in no urgency. So if you come, drink on the way and have chips in your purse.

Love it. Ready for a nap. Always go to buffet. Great all you can eat mexican food. Rice is wonderful and the queso...omg.

Take this review with a grain of salt, as you do a tequila shot. I don't usually go for this type of tex mess style of restaurant. I enjoy a little grittier or a little more refined if you know what I mean.This was our third choice in shelbyville. First choice was packed with a line due to a street party in downtown. Choice two I drove past because I was shooting the breeze with the gf. We stopped here because they have an awesome raised deck/ patio. The staff is friendly and courteous. The menu has the usual gringo suspects, chimichangas, cheeze sauce covered stuff. They also had a couple selections with the words spicy hot in the description. I don't usually believe this but I will order for lack of any other options. The gf found a spinach quesadilla. It was actually pretty good. Fresh wilted spinach with tomato and ez melt cheez. I ordered a cortadillo (sic). Similar to a chile Colorado with choice of red or green sauce. I opted for green. It was actually quite spicy. A bit hot actually. I wish I had asked for corn tortillas. The menu is dicey. A different selection here or there the review could go south. I saw some tragic looking apps and entrees go by. Nachos with white goo running off of the plate is not my idea of a good time. Fair warning: Karaoke on the patio at 7 p.m.

I used to love this place but it has really gone downhill as a restaurant to choose for lunch. In the past we would eat the lunch buffet. The last two times I went there the food wasn't that great and both of us got sick afterwards. (Fooled me once shame on you, fooled me twice shame on me.)The owner was not there either of these times and the food selection was very limited.I won't be back anytime soon.

The food and service were excellent. We ordered burrito fajita it was very large and tasted fresh . The chicken inside was grilled . Service was great not rushed to finish your meal . The sangria was amazing . I definitely recommend this restaurant. Staff very friendly.
