The women who answered the phone was legit the sweetest! She called me sweetheart and I instantly loved her Anyways, the trip was great! We did the 8 mile trip with 1 canoe and 1 kayak. If we had to go another further, I have died because I was so tired. We stopped at a few little islands along the river. Definitely an experience we won't forget!

It's been a life time of waiting but Nicole managed to finally bring us to Mammoth Cave on our trip north to Ohio.We could not get tickets ahead of schedule as they were all booked. We got to the park when it opened at 9am Sunday morning and managed to snag some tickets for the 12:15 self guided tour. In the intervening hours I ran 10 miles in a slow drizzle on a path that was crushed gravel following along the same stretch of road that we took to enter the park. When it was our turn we were called by the over head PA to meet at Shelter for a short talk by the ranger before descending to the cave 200 ft below. A walk way takes you to the mouth of the entrance. We were able to walk a total of 2 miles in the tunnels which had an average temperature in the 50s. Wear a sweater or jacket before you go. The cave system is the longest in the world and we definitely could have kept going but were turned around at 3/4 of a mile into it. The caves possessed an artifact as old as 5000 years but the network of caves had inhabitants for much older. We got our National Park Pass stamped and also enjoyed exploring the gift shop and museum at the visitor center. The park has a great network of trails and camping and a lodge / hotel. We finished up at around 2pm and after about 5 hours in the park. It was a pristine day in the park with so much more to see, so we look forward to the next time.

Hubby and I drove up from the Nashville area to check out the Mammoth Cave on New Years Eve.We reserved tickets for the historic tour a few months in advance and I'm so glad we did. They were definitely busy and had limited tour spots available. We arrived about 40 minutes prior to our tour time and waited outside on a bench. About 5-10 minutes before the start of the tour we moved over to shelter A where we sat with the rest of our tour. Our guide introduced herself and gave us a rundown on what to expect in the cave and on the historic tour. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She spoke a lot about how tight the cave would get and recommended being near the front of the tour if you were worried about feeling claustrophobic. I would recommend that as well. The walk down into the cave was pretty easy. Our tour was fairly large, I would guess about 60 people or so. There were lots of cool things to see down in the cave including the mining tools used to mine nitrates out of the soil to make gunpowder. We also saw many signatures during the cave tour, some of which included dates going back to the 1830s.There were lots of huge, open rooms as well as tight places to walk through. Fat man's misery wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined and was one of my favorite parts of the tour. I also liked the bridge over the bottomless pit - not as scary as it sounds. The historic tour may be strenuous for some and does require lots of walking, climbing stairs, crouching, etc. Keep in mind it does get cold down in the cave, however, I wouldn't recommend wearing more than a jacket or sweater. You will likely get pretty warm with all the walking and moving around. I wouldn't recommend this tour for small children or anyone who is extremely claustrophobic. We didn't see any bats during our tour which was fine by me! Make sure not to touch any if you see them. I would highly recommend checking out a tour at Mammoth Cave National Park!

Pleasantly surprised on MCC&K professionalism. We were greeted by a lovely lady when we pulled into the lot. We decided to not make any reservations because we wanted to scope out to see who had the best rates and options in the area. I visited Mammoth Cave Canoe and Kayaks website and was impressed so we headed out on an adventure!! The guide who lead us to the river was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the park and the Green River. Was a little bit ashamed that we didn't have any cash on us to tip the driver, as we left it in the car. . . The river was absolutely breath-taking. Sand bars to eat lunch, turtles galore, small fish jumping, amazing tree formations. This River route has everything. We took two canoes. Loved how we didn't feel rushed at all. Took about 2:30 hours. Not bad, we took our time and explored the wonders of nature. Just wanted to say thank you to Mammoth Cave and Kayak for allowing us to experience something that we will never forget. It was a perfect day.

These guys were great. We did the "half day" trip twice. Fantastic both times... and if you don't paddle constantly it will be more like 6 or 7 hours. The longer trip is all slow water... I.e. no assistance. You will need to paddle the whole way. Don't forget to give the owner Becky a bit of sass, she loves the banter. Ask for a discount... she loves that too. ;)Oh yeah... just before the ferry exit there is a small creek where the water exits the cave. Get out and go visit. It is muddy as hell but totally worth it.

Awesome time...Becky and Nate were really nice, informative, and kind. The canoe and kayaks were in aok condition ...the 7.5 mile trip down the Green River was so cool...water was warm [75 degrees], we stopped at different islands to explore and have a picnic and saw baby deer, turtles and an American Bald Eagle about only 20 feet from us. Fun fun fun.

Canoe and Kayak rentals just a few minutes outside of Cave City. $50 bucks for two people got us an 8 mile (3-4 hour) trip down the lazy river. It had rained the night before we went, but the river was still nice and slow. They provide you with a boat (canoe or kayak), paddles, life jackets, and a ride to/from the drop off/pick up site. There are a bunch of gravelly islands where you can stop and explore, which can extend your trip by an hour or two if you're curious. You will probably want to take a dip, so wear a swimsuit and water shoes. Definitely a good value for the experience.

I used this outfit 2 years ago and they were great. There are only a couple of options in the area, but really were well taken care of by these owners. Equipment was worn but very well maintained. The advice and the instruction were great. The drop off and he pick-up were fantastic. Great river to paddle for all ages. We had all four kids between 7-16. I have to say that my 7 year old had more experience than my wife. It was a great trip. A great river. A great outfit. Highly recommended.

They went out of their way to make sure we could get out on the water despite it being a bit later than usual departure time. The kayaks were terrific, service was wonderful, and everything about the route was exactly as described: length of time to complete the 7 miles (around 3 hours), how to know when we're close to the end (hear the ferry a couple miles out), etc. I think it was Johnny that dropped us at the start and he was just as nice as could be.
