Ambiance was cool in that it's really not that fancy. It's very minimalist, with the steak specials on a large chalkboard. That said, the experience was great. The servers were friendly. The steak was cooked to perfection. The asparagus had a hint of orange flavor. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

Mama T's offers a great menu with something for everyone! Steaks, pasta, seafood... they have it all. Alongside a full menu is always a full plate. The portions here are guaranteed to fill your belly every time! My family has been coming here for several years. We've watched the business grow and have always had great experiences with their friendly staff, great service, and family oriented atmosphere. It's a "don't miss it" spot in Dubois County and always my first recommendation to traveling guests! Must try's at Mama T's? Aside from their pasta and steaks, their portobello mushrooms are a family favorite! And for any fellow martini lovers out there, Mama's Cheesecake martini is my favorite!

The food was just ok. When eating at an Italian restaurant I expected something better than what we can make at home. But that is not what we got. The bread was nothing special it tasted like day old bread you could buy at Walmart. We all ordered pasta but it was just ok. Nothing you would recommend to a friend. The service was slow and we got there at 5pm on a Wednesday. The ambiance was nothing special. I like local small restaurants but this was not good. So for this review I would say we (my family of 6) were very disappointed and we will not be back.

My first time here. Had a big group, and everyone was full and happy. I had the seafood fettuccine, and it was very good. My only complaint was that they didn't have Coors light. They were out of Miller Lite as well. But a cold Bud worked the trick.

Fantastic food, great service, highly recommended! Wagyu steaks on special, probably the best steak I've ever had. Even restaurants double the price couldn't beat it!

We actually found Mama T's as a recommendation on Yelp when the restaurant where we had planned to eat was over-full. We had driven an hour and half for dinner, so wanted to try something different. Having lived in Italy years ago, we rarely can resist anything that sounds like good Italian food, and were excited to try this. I would strongly recommend reservations, especially on weekend nights. We were fortunate to arrive early and were able to be seated, but I actually saw some patrons having to be turned away. Located in a delightful, revitalized downtown of Huntingburg, there are pressed tin ceilings, divided rooms, and checkered tablecloths. We even like the different levels of floor going from one section of the restaurant into another. Tables were covered with printed menus under glass. The best food in native Italian restaurants is rarely on "the menu." Nor is it here. The fresh meats of the day, steaks, pork chops, & seafood specials were on a black board. But our waiter had a few extra surprises for us and explained that we could pretty much take one dish from a pairing and add a different dish to suit ourselves. That was how my husband ended up with surf and turf, (steak & lobster tail) & baked potato, while I had fillet with Pasta (fettuccine Alfredo topped with eggplant twisties), and Auntie had a fillet with asparagus and a baked potato. These were preceded by some incredibly delicious shared onion rings. Most onion rings fried in this type of batter leave the onion very dry and tasteless; these were anything but that! Still sweet and juicy surrounded by crispy, spicy batter & dipped in a delightful honey mustard sauce, we could almost have stopped our meal right there! However a crisp salad with house made dressings followed, and we barely had time to finish those, when our entrées were delivered to the table. Unfortunately, I failed to take pictures of the entrées before we began eating. However, I did get a picture of my plate as I had only begun to dig in when I recalled my failure.Since my meal is the only one with a picture, I will tell you that all three of us were delighted with our steaks. Apparently, Mama T is well known for their steaks and these were remarkably tender and cooked exactly as ordered. Hubby and Auntie both loved their steaks, & they were all very tender & moist. However, I found the spicy rub on the steak a bit too hot to suit me. The owner's wife, who circulated just enough to let her presence and concern for our meals be known, assured me that they would gladly cook it off a little more for me, which I declined as it was calmed when eaten with the pasta, but she assured me that I could ask for light seasoning in the future. Obviously, they strive to please anyone's preferred taste. Everything else was absolutely delightful. The asparagus was crispy tender and tasted fantastic, the baked potatoes were well done, and there was more than enough food! The fettuccine on my plate was almost embarrassingly high, and fantastic, topped with the eggplant twisties. I had failed to mention that I prefer marinara sauce rather than Alfredo, and I am very glad that I did, because their Alfredo was light and an asset to the pasta rather than smothering it in cream. I've never heard of eggplant twisties before, and I never would've thought of coring an eggplant, dipping the outer ring in onion ring batter, and deep frying it. It was delicious!! I'm quite sure it will still be delicious when I heat up my leftovers tomorrow. Robert, was an outstanding server. He even took a few minutes to chat with us about food experiences that we had had; Auntie even shared a recipe of her grandmothers with him! The ambience reminded me of Italian restaurants in southern Italy: family noise. It wasn't loud or over-bearing, but it was invigorating. There was another section to the restaurant where a full bar was located, which seemed to be darker and quieter. A couple of notes on the building itself: Auntie & I had a little difficulty stepping up from the sidewalk into the doorway that is presently being used to enter the restaurant. Apparently, there have been several entrances, and as they have expanded, those have changed. Hopefully, they will be able to rearrange their tables in such a manner as to re-open a door that has a wheelchair entrance and had been used for the entrance previously. I visited one of the restrooms (of 2 available) which was not handicap accessible, either. It did have handicap bars, but very little room to maneuver. Hopefully, these changes will be made in the near future as it is obvious this restaurant is growing rapidly, & justifiably so. With the wonderful personalities of everyone we met there and the fantastic quality of food, I can see nothing but success in their future! We are already planning on making reservations to take Auntie back for her 80th birthday! If you want a really nice steak or Italian dinner you couldn't possibly go wrong at Mama T's!
