Maddox & Rose Marketplace

So my sister and I went back to Maddox & Rose this weekend. This is the only way I want to buy candles now. They are so much more fragrant than store bought. This time we learned that you can also make your own lotion and hand soap. I'm not sure how we missed that the first time. We both made a couple hand soaps this time. The service was superb even though they were very busy. The only negative thing I would say this time is that we waited for our candles to cool while talking on their couches. Typically, it should be 1 hour. After 1 &1/2 hours, we asked about our candles and they already had them ready and stored away in the closet. They said they didn't know we were there.

What an amazing place! When I came in, I was blown away with ton of smells. I had made the reservation for this fun theme which was Harry Potter. I arrived and I wasn't sure where to go but I wait at the bar to let them know that I had reservation. They told me to wait for like 5 or 10 minutes because others were occupied which I don't mind it at all. Then I looked at cocktail menu but I know what I really want which is butterbeer. I enjoyed the time to pick out the smell and making the candle. It is very neat progress. I don't want to give more details because you need to try it.I do really enjoy this moment. I would want to come back for more.

Return visit for a candle creation and really enjoy this venue. Very serene and beautiful space! Scent combinations are endless. A multitude of vessel selections are available, which also change periodically to also include seasonal variations. We saw some cute bat shapes containers during this visit in October. Customized candles can be made by patrons in an hour. These can potentially be picked up same day and up to 30 days because the wax is at 170 degrees and needs time to set up to enable safe transport. I chose a duo of appealing scents and then added an iridescent shimmer prior to the hot wax pour. I also selected the addition of amethyst stones with the goal of reducing stress! To be determined! I'm looking forward to enjoying my candle and appreciated the instructions included in the lovely gift bag at pickup. Will also be looking forward to return visits with friends this winter season to have some enjoyable fun indoors and liven up our home spaces.

Still celebrating my bday! We made body sprays and candles! Love this place so much! I made two body sprays! You can bring the vessels back and reuse them and get a discount!

If you are looking for something fun to do, this is the place to visit!We came with a group of 4 girls on a Saturday afternoon for my friend's birthday (you need to make a reservation).When we got there we chose our seats on the 30-seat bar and ordered our drinks (they have canned cocktails, wine, beer and soft drinks). Then we were walked through the scenting process:1. You pick a clipboard and pencil to keep track of the scents you like.2. There are over 80 scents to choose from so take your time and select your 6 favorites (you can choose more but it then makes narrowing them down a bit difficult).3. Once you are done choosing your scents, you will then select either a candle vessel or a custom body product (they have soap, hand sanitizer, body lotion, air freshener, etc.). I chose the air freshener for my home!4. Then you sit and one of the ladies will give you the bottles of all the scents you chose so that you can narrow the list down to 3.5. You will then pour the scents into the measuring cup and mix them into either the body product or the candle vessel. If you chose a candle, they will pour wax into the vessel and it will take about one hour to harden so you are welcome to go check out the Nulu shops and come back to pick it up later.I am very happy with the final result and I'm already obsessed with my custom scent! Needless to say, I will be back!

Another memorable experience. We really enjoyed our visit here to celebrate my moms birthday. Experience gifts are the best. You pick scents, a vessel, and start the fun. You can also have a drink why you do it. We will be back. As early as this week!

I was in Louisville visiting family and last minute we decided to go to Maddox and Rose. We weren't able to get in same day but they were able to get us in the next day. When we arrived we were welcomed in and instructed to pick our fragrances and the vessel we were choosing to create out scent in. There were so many scents to choose from which was great and made it fun for our group. I chose to create a room spray. The process was easy. They have select beverages to choose from while you are making your item. After making my room spray, my group and I had a mini photo shoot. :D I would recommend Maddox if your looking for something different to do with a group during the day.

I loved my experience at Maddox & Rose. The atmosphere is classy. There are options to choose from. If you want a cocktail, they are available too. Our attendant was sweet and attentive. After you decide what to create, you can choose up to eight fragrances to decide how to create your unique combo of 3. From there, you create your scrub, candle, etc. It's very fun and a great experience with your pals.

My gift card to Maddox & Rose has been patiently waiting on me to use it. My son (10 yr) and I had an unexpected day off together on Friday. We learned a few weeks ago that walk-in appointments weren't welcome and that reservations had to be made online. The website didn't show available dates/times but did provide a form to select my preference and number of people visiting. The next morning I received an email confirmation. Maddox & Rose has a parking lot or you can snag street parking nearby. The entrance door is on the backside of the building. Two seats were prepped for us and we were given a menu of drinks. My son got a Sprite and I enjoyed a Peach Bellini. We shared we wanted to make candles and the young lady explained how to choose our fav scents along the back wall as well as the candle vessel. The scent selection is the best part - and take your time because it's the main highlight of making your candle. We were able to choose our top 3 and determine how much of each scent we wanted to use for the customization. Hot wax is put into your vessel and then it's only a quick pour in of the scents and a few stirs. We also got a sticker to name our candle. All together, including shopping in their small retail space, we were there about an hour. We had lunch in Nulu and shopped a bit before going back to pick up our candles. Or, you can pick them up another day. Two 8 Oz candles plus our drinks ... about $70. This is a one and done type of experience. The staff was helpful but didn't add to the visit. Nice to do and a gorgeous space but the thought of doing it was more exciting than actually doing it.

Enjoyed making my candle but had to pay for parking even though the several signs outside in the parking lot said to pay then validate the ticket inside. However, the workers said that they could not validate my parking since I was supposed to scan the free QR code inside of their building. What is the point of offering free parking if the entire lot is filled with QR codes to pay? Everywhere I have parked, I have needed to pay then bring the receipt to the establishment for them to validate it. Also wish that the employees were more warmer and hands on during the candle making.
