Lucas Brothers Sandwiches are back, baby!!! I ate these as a kid with my dad on lazy Saturday mornings before he would go back in to work OT. I habe found memories of eating these burgers and later, when friends were visiting from college, take them to the same place. They would always demand to go back! I must say, my memory is not clouded by nostalgia as these hamburgers are just as amazing now as they were when I was a wee one. Burgers cooked by the same family on the same grill as the original locations. Get your onions grilled for the best experience. Ask for extra pickles! The husband and wife team that run the restaurant, along with a few others, are absolutely amazing people. Kind and hard workers slinging burgers to be made from 11AM-7PMMY only regret thus far is not going to visit much sooner. I will be back and will return with an appetite!

We were dining nearby and smelled those delicious cheeseburgers cooking. We both grew up in Columbus and remembered those sandwiches from childhood. Ordered two burgers to go just for a taste test. It was about a twenty minute wait but they were as good as I remembered. Yum.

Absolutely the best burgers in Columbus, IN! Onion rings were great too! Definitely recommend this place!

For the ultimate in good greasy burgers this is the place to go. It's inside a dead mall but worth hunting down. Also has other sandwiches available as well as fries, onion rings and chili.

A really good burger,place looks deserted and only 1 girl working..we walked in with 7 of us and the girl rocked out our order by herself after taking the order..DAMM good burger! A five star would have been possible if the only employee (as u said u only have 1 during slow times) wasn't being used,just for safety there should be another employee,also for faster service to ur customers,so for these IMPORTANT reasons a 5 star rating will never be possible from me,u asked and i answered but still very good reasonably priced lunch

After having heard so much about this place, I finally went there for lunch today. You have to go inside the old FairOaks Mall, but it's worth the time and walk. The service was good, and since it's inside the old mall it stays pretty quiet. The food certainly lives up to all I'd heard. I got a Deluxe Cheeseburger and fries. The standard is with grilled onions (which I love!) and then you can add other things if you like such as jalapeño or relish or other sauces. I'm pretty boring when it comes to burgers lol. Anyway, the meat is seasoned well and the grilled onions add that great sweetness to it. The fries were crisp and fresh, as well. So, if you've yet to try Lucas Bros, then I suggest you do so asap.

I imagine Lucas Brothers Sandwich Shop might be akin to what McDonald's started out as before becoming a franchise. I ordered a single cheeseburger with grilled onions and pickles and Lucas sauce. On the menu, it says "with" or "without" which must mean with or without the onions and pickles. The cashier did tell me though they would make it anyway I wanted. The burger was a smashstyle. The Lucas sauce was a thicker Big Mac sauce. It was superb with the burger and was really good to dip the fries in. The burger itself earns Lucas Bros. a 4. The price was good as it was $7.48 for the burger and fries. The fries were crinkle cut so not bad. I asked the cashier want they made from scratch and none of the sides are made from scratch. The only things that are made in-house are the burgers and soup. The sweet tea was not fresh-brewed. The location is weird as it is in an abandoned mall and you have to look carefully for the sign outside to know where to enter at in the mall. But if you are looking for a good, cheap, homemade burger, give Lucas Bros. a try. I promise it is better than McDonald's.

Located inside Fairoaks mall. The burger is greasy and delicious. Just what I remembered from their old location. Grilled onions with a couple pickles to top it off. Wish I would've remembered to take a picture of the actual food, sorry, but devoured it. Hey, I did get the menu pictures. It's a little pricey for just the sandwiches. Combo is a better deal. I also didn't care for the batter on the onion rings, they tasted burnt to me. But maybe it was just me. The manager made one new single o-ring (which I greatly appreciated) for me to try, & not cooked as long. Still didn't like it, idk why. But they were Very courteous and nice about it. That's why I still give them five stars. Not sure if they are staying in the desolate mall, thought mall was shutting down soon.

Have to advise a pass on this place. Food wasn't all that horrible for a grease grill but with only 2 other people already waiting for food, it took 25 minutes to get a hotdog and fries. Grill was mostly unoccupied of food and cook was cooking but seemed to only be able to cook a small amount of food at a time. There were a couple take out orders but come on.... Almost 30 minutes for a hotdog??? I got the fries after 10 minutes because I went back up and asked.It was only when at the 20 minute point I asked how long and that I might need a refund cause I had to be somewhere that they put my dog on the grill...Won't be returning. With Chick-fil-A., lots of other fast food within a few hundred yards of the mall I'll just go somewhere else.The positive reviews on here have got to be from employees or friends...

This is the best sandwich shop in Columbus. Delicious lunch! Visit them at the Nexus complex.
