Being in my mid 40's , I wondered if I could learn something new and I did it ! Jennifer was informative, welcoming and honest. And Lex is an EXCELLENT teacher. He allows you to comfortably make mistakes and uses them as a constructive and encouraging teaching opportunities. Also , there were job opportunities introduced to me immediately upon completion. If you're thinking about......DO IT ! You will not regret it.

I graduated on Monday of this week, and by Thursday I had already landed a bartending interview with the help of this school! Alex Newman taught my night class, and he is an exceptional teacher who brings out the best in all of this students. The course is very hands-on, and simulates a real working bar environment, which is the kind of experience you just can't get from pen-and-paper learning. This beats the snot out of those Youtube or Instagram "bartending classes" for sure. I strongly recommend this course to anyone, from total beginners (like me!) to current bartenders who want to perfect their skills and round out their knowledge. The class is informative, lively, and most of all - fun! I work full-time during the week, and coming to class after a long work day was a breath of fresh air where I could leave my worries at the door and get lost in lively conversation, drink making, and learning.Jennifer and Alex make sure there are a wealth of resources available to you, and put in visible effort to make sure that your every need as a student is met. It was worth every penny, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend!

I recently retired and wanted to do something else part-time. My son had gone through the school but did not take a job as a bartender at the time. Since then, he was hired as a bartender and wanted to take advantage of the free refresher courses. I went through the 40 hours of training and loved the class, while he attended some classes for refresher. I started out a little nervous, but Alex helps you to settle into the role and get the job done in no time. The hands on training, the help of other classmates and the instruction that Alex gives is great. The class is more than mixing drinks, it is complying with the laws, socializing with the customers and working with other bartenders behind the bar. Alex and Jennifer are always there to help you with your skills or helping to place you in a position. Whether you want bartending as a full time career or just a part-time job, this class is worth it.

I went to school here in 2012. My instructor was hilarious and made the class soo much fun you didn't even realize that you were learning something. I was actually disappointed when the class was over. At first I thought it was kind of expensive but I literally made the money back I paid for the class in three nights of Bartending. They helped me find a job perfectly suited to me and make a lot of money while I was in Louisville. I took a few years off Bartending to have a baby and then to lose the baby weight and I moved to Tampa. After three years my confidence in my skill wasn't where I wanted so I found a sister school in Tampa but I had misplaced my graduation certificate in the move so I called the school in Louisville and they not only verified that I would have a refresher course in Tampa but they took the time to make me a new certificate and mail it for the school here to prove I had access to a free refresher course since I was a graduate. Even without the refresher course the Tampa school would have helped me find a job since they are connected to the school in Louisville. Now I'll be able to take a refresher course to get my confidence back and find another job that suits me here. I highly recommend this school. It's more than worth the money.

It's not often that you'll find a place that gives you hands-on bartending experience AND the freedom to make mistakes without consequences. If you're an aspiring bartender, don't let this opportunity pass you by! Whether you already work in the service industry or have no prior knowledge about bartending, Louisville Bartending School caters to flexible schedules and different levels of experience. Both Heather and Lex are very intelligent and personable! They do everything they can to make sure you are confident in your bartending skills. Being able to learn with other students both in class and during the outings is mutually beneficial: it makes the experience more fun while giving you a chance to network with other future bartenders. The best advice I can give soon-to-be students is to take your time with this course because cramming will only make the information way more confusing than it needs to be.

If you are questioning or considering bartending and have no clue where to start I highly encourage you to consider checking out Louisville School of Bartending. I absolutely enjoyed and loved going to class every single day and meeting/befriending all the people who were also attending. Before attending Louisville School of Bartending I knew absolutely nothing. Yes, I know it sounds silly because bartenders make drinks, but it so much more than just making drinks! Heather is super friendly and very helpful, and makes you feel welcomed right away! Lex is a wonderful instructor, he is very passionate, knowledgeable, encouraging, and very enthusiastic. Attending Louisville School of Bartending was very rewarding for me. I'm 100% confident that I made the right choice by attending Louisville School of Bartending.

This school I honestly can say has actualized a childhood dream of mine, I've always wanted to own my own bar, but I knew that if I wanted to get there one day I should know the industry and learn how to bartend first. Alex was there to make me a professional from day one. I remember walking in feeling like I needed to puke; in my mind I knew that if I failed that that was it: dream over. However, after a couple of jokes Alex the lead instructor put my mind at easy and had me focused on making conversation to put my mind at ease. Next thing I knew it was only day 2 of the class and my hands were flowing from the speed rack to the bar back without a second thought. From rocks drinks to highballs and all sorts of martinis, this extensive class took me step by step at my own pace and gave a personal friendly feel. They do not mass teach and they do not lecture you for hours. Once they get you an interview with their job placement you won't have a book and notes to cling onto, so why teach a class like that? No, instead they have you behind the bar from your first class to your last class learning hands on the whole way as if it was the real deal. Finally, if 40 hours plus of training wasn't enough they offer lifetime refresher courses; meaning if you need to just come in and practice or work on memorizing a menu for your new job, Alex and the school will be there for you the whole entire way so that you nail it on your first day. At the end of the day the instructors and students become more of a family to you than anything. Money well spent.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience for not only an introduction to bartending, but to coming full circle a feeling comfortable with a multitude of techniques behind a bar! Every seemingly daunting task is broken down for each individual and skills are fine tuned while being submerged in a bustling bar atmosphere. The instructor does so well at pushing you to your limits and keeping you busy to ensure you're able to multitask from making drinks, cleaning stations, and keeping up killer conversations. You're nerves truly melt away and skills build to learn a vast array of every type of drink there is to know! There's no magic, no tricks, just straight forward class and style to make you a true professional will the tools and skill sets needed to land that job you've been dreaming of. Truly blessed to have come across this school, the instructor, Alex Newman, and the many walks of life I got to meet along the way through class! Truly the only place I'd ever consider if you are SERIOUS about learning the ins and outs of bartending and the business of bartending and customer service. If anything swing by for an introduction and sit in on that first class for free, you'll know you're at home the moment you walk in.

I would just like to say that as a server for three years and a manager at the same restaurant, I was nervous about starting the bartending course. But to be honest, it was one of the most fun, enriching things I have ever done! Everyone was so encouraging and they took time to individualize everyone in the class, no more than a handful of people at the same in the same room. You do not even realize you are learning sometimes because it is so much fun! I reccomend anyone who is searching to up their serving game to come here and get some knowledge worth knowing!

I was astounded when reaching out to the school over a weekend to inquire about the course when I received an almost immediate response to my inquiry by the owner (Ms Jennifer Vance)as that normally doesn't happen on a weekend in a business environment. After meeting with Alex Bowman "Lex" who is the course instructor, I knew this was something I wanted to do and it was achievable! The course is designed to fit your schedule and is totally hands on. Lex is an awesome instructor who definitely knows the industry. I like his style of teaching, enthusiasm and encouragement to those he teaches. Upon completion of the course you will receive a certificate of completion and recommendations of places for employment. This school is all about their students.
