We booked the Carriage House at the Louisville Bourbon Inn for my husband's 40th birthday. We had two couples join us which gave us the entire carriage house to hang out in, and we still had access to the mansion. Breakfasts were always enjoyable and delicious. Allen and Jeff were wonderful hosts that made us feel like friends. They had excellent recommendations for things to do and places to eat. They would call other restaurants to try and help us get reservations for a party of 8. We will definitely stay here over any of the hotels in Louisville.

A total gem! Wonderfully appointed to reflect the gentility of the Old South yet providing many modern amenities like the bathrooms. Allen is the consummate host, not only providing for our needs but anticipating them as well. And the breakfasts he prepared were fabulous. We will not stay anywhere in Louisville but here.

So glad we found this place! Loved everything about it from booking to checkout. We spent a few minutes on the phone to help decide on booking and I never want to book a place online again Jeff took the time to describe a couple of the rooms, get to know us a bit, then suggested a suite that was perfect for us. The beautiful mansion *just wow* very tasteful decor- perfect blend of modern upgrades without distorting the historic beauty. Loved the bourbon themed suites! Lovely, festive Christmas decorations made everything even more grand. We were warmly welcomed by the very communicative Jeff, so we knew just where to park and which entrance to use. He was also very knowledgeable when it came to navigating, seeing the area, suggesting restaurants, etc. We loved that he was able to give us a little history about the inn as well. We woke up to the smell of fresh coffee brewing. Breakfast was hot & hearty. We will be going back for a longer visit and would highly recommend to anyone- including those hesitant about B & B style accommodations.

Don't even think about searching for another B&B near the bourbon trail! The Bourbon Inn is not only beautiful inside - it offers so much history and comfort in each elegantly designed room. You can sit just about anywhere in the home and take a moment to relax or sip tea. Our room was on the 3rd floor so you'll get plenty of steps in and beautifully appointed (Old Fashion Suite.) And, if you don't want the steps - the carriage house is for you! Then there's the B For breakfast...Allen is an expert at just about everything - but his sweet spot is being your host/chef. We met some lovely guests and enjoyed a delightful dinner around the corner (BUCKS-see my review) and if I ever return to Kentucky I'll most certainly stop again to see Allen. Book your room!

I can't say I'm an expert in B&Bs but from what I've been told they range from being very fun and inviting like this place or being stuffy and feeling like you're literally just staying at some stranger's house and inconveniencing them, yet paying them at the same time.We wanted to celebrate a 40th birthday and visit some distilleries in the one and only Louisville so we figured we'd pop our B&B cherry here. BTW, I may be in a the extreme minority, but I've never been a huge fan of really old houses. Sure, they look cool and are one of a kind and the craftsmanship on everything will never be matched again, but come on, it's kinda creepy, right? Behind every creaky floorboard is a trapped soul, right?Okay, enough intro. This place was gorgeous. I've never been so infatuated with and impressed with an upkeep of an house. It was just simply beautiful. And you know what made this place even more beautiful? The people that work here. Ellen (owner-so sweet you'll get a cavity speaking to her), Jeff (partner-incredibly helpful and will give you an actual list of his personal favorite places to visit) and Ken (chef-hilarious and smart guy who we enjoyed chatting with each morning during our delicious breakfasts). The rooms are lovely, although I'd probably skip the "Kentucky Sunrise" room if you're traveling in the dead of summer because that patio won't really be used. Right across the street is a lovely park for morning walks so please take advantage of that. I'd say the immediate surrounding area may not be the absolute best for walking downtown to, especially if you're alone, but Uber works well and is very affordable.Love this B&B and can't wait to come back!

We have stayed in many B&B's and this one is at the top of our favorites. Allen's breakfast is amazing and creative! Jeff gave us the grand tour of this home and offered many dinner options in the area that were delicious as well! We stayed in the Grand Derby room and the room is amazing! One of the most comfortable king beds we have slept in, a private balcony, 2 fireplaces (bathroom and bedroom), jacuzzi bathtub, and multiple options of bourbon or wine to purchase in our room! The area surrounding the inn is beautiful and has so much history. They were so welcoming and even sat with us for some bourbon tasting; they really make you feel like friends or family. You will not regret booking a stay with Allen and Jeff at the Louisville Bourbon Inn!

We stayed here 2 days and this place did not disappoint. The owner Ellen was super nice and her son Kenny, who is also the chef was amazing. A little background on Kenny is he actually is a professional chef who has cooked around the world. Kenny made us 2 days of delicious breakfast. 1st day was a French meal and the 2nd was pancakes but very fancy ones. Both meals were delicious. The room we stayed in was the old fashion. It was big. The fan made the room cooler. The only issue we had was we work overnights and that room is bright as a morning sun shine when it's morning. The bed was comfortable. Tv has Netflix and roku. We would stay again !

Amazing! This was our first B&B experience and it absolutely exceeded our expectations! The Victorian style home was beautifully decorated and welcoming. Allen was such a gracious host - friendly, informative, and an amazing cook! He also makes the best Old Fashioned's and Espresso Martinis. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing stay and exceptional hospitality.
