My 2nd time here because I want to try more items on the menu. Authentic Cajun flavors, and no other Kentucky restaurant compares. Delicious! If you can't decide, get the Bayou Sampler!

Overall, this was an excellent experience. This is another situation where it's between four and five stars, but I went with the four just because the short rib wasn't my favorite, but it was certainly good enough. The kale and potatoes that came with it were the star of the dish. The drinks were very good and the desserts were incredible. My family split the bananas foster cheesecake, the bread, pudding, and the banana pudding. Our server was awesome. He was very attentive, knowledgeable on the menu and helpful with items for a kid when needed. I certainly will be back and can't wait to try more menu items. Will probably try this summer as it looks like they have a small outdoor area that looks neat.

The food was decent but the service was so slow. I could've walked to New Orleans, picked up the food, and walked back by the time my food was served. I was in a group of four and our server only would refill one person's water while the other three of us just sat there with empty glasses and we had to tell them we needed a refill. It does have a cute New Orleans decor but the poor and slow service is abysmal. I highly do NOT recommend this place.

See previous reviews...Somehow my photos did not post initially. I've been twice & the food is phenomenal. Service could be better, but nothing that would make me not return. All guests that I've treated here, are very pleased with their experiences!!

Oh. My. God. !!! If you DONT go here, you are NUTS!!! The location is wonderful with a great outdoor view if you choose outdoors. We were greeted right away and sat upstairs outside. Great little outdoor patios rooftop type of a view Our server was incredible and so friendly and helped us navigate our choices because we weee conflicted and wanted to try it all lol! We ended up with shrimp and grits as that's my partners GO TO anytime it's on the menu, and then the sampler style meal that let us try gumbo, red beans and rice, jambalaya, and dirty rice. And everything was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The only thing that topped it was dessert!!! The particular cheesecake special was TO DIE FOR!!! I have no other words to describe it!!! The most delectable dessert we have ever had!! We had the add some candies pralines on top for a crunch and good heavens I thought I was IN HEAVEN! Just go!!!

We had a wonderful lunch here. We were in the area with some time to kill and we're hungry. We love Cajun food and I had heard great things about this place, so we thought we'd give it a try. We each ordered one of the traditional Cajun "from the bayou" entrees. I got the jambalaya and he got the étouffée. I got a little cup of the she crab soup to start. My jambalaya was pretty good, a little less punchy than I was hoping for. My husband's étouffée would have been a better choice. The she crab soup was really tasty too! The star of the meal, however, was the bread pudding. I really loved how rich it was, and the bourbon vanilla sauce was *chef's kiss*.The ambiance was fun, light, and New Orleans-y festive, and the service was great. My husband has already asked several times about when we can come back!

Lou Lou on Market is hands down my favorite upscale Cajun in Louisville! You're welcome to an inviting, cost and colorful interior. If you choose to eat outside you often get to enjoy live music and luscious greenery. Every single staff member I have had the pleasure of meeting is spectacular. Then comes the food - this food is nothing short of dream worthy. I am constantly begging my friends to make this our regular spot because every single thing on the menu is that good. This time I tried bites from the Chicken Carbonara (love that sauce!) and the 4 Cheese Ravioli with chicken (no mushrooms of course). And yet again I ended the meal with a full belly, leftovers and a huge smile.

If there is anything you get when you come here, make sure it's the Bananas Foster Cheesecake. If this was the last thing that I ever ate, I would die a happy woman. I really loved the vibes here and would go back again. I had the jambalaya and it was amazing. My drink was so-so but it was in a fun mug and was bubbling like a witches brew. The service was a bit slow but I was there on a busy Saturday evening so it was fine. Overall I would definitely recommend!

Excellent spot in NuLu. Cajun-inspired menu (and absolutely try those dishes), but there are plenty of options to please any palate...including a deep dish Chicago style pizza to die for. Hard to go wrong on the menu. Excellent apps (get the crawfish bayou dip without question...well, maybe not if you have an allergy, then get the hummus trio--one night I was there included a blue cheese hummus that is one of the more fascinating takes on hummus I've had). The pork chop is a signature dish and deservedly so--nicely blackened (not overly spicy), perfectly cooked to juicy tenderness). Deep dish pizza is a bit of an outlier with the Cajun theme, but, wow, it is good--thick, chewy, cheesy goodness.Cocktail menu is solid, though not the highlight (drinks are very well made, just not a lot in my usual wheelhouse, so not criticizing here, just can't offer a fair assessment based on my own tastes).Service is always strong. Friendly, helpful, and welcoming.Atmosphere is excellent top to bottom. A couple of private rooms for different-sized groups, lively main dining area, and a gorgeous and relaxing patio. Website says there's a speakeasy in the lower level that I'd love to try but haven't made my way there yet.On the whole, well worth a trip.
