Great little shop in the heart of St. Matthews. Great upscale offerings. Fresh frozen past meals, deli counter for sandwiches and fresh cut slices. Packaged sides, fresh produce and sweets. Love it!

I love going to lots of pasta for lunch getting a nice Panini or a charcuterie board with wonderful cheese and some of my German products and don't forget the fresh bread.

Lotsa pasta is a saint Mathews neighborhood Italian market/deli place in the city of Louisville located off Lexington ave. Me and my family was riding around the Saint Mathews area today on a Monday evening looking for a new place to eat. We seen a lovely patio with the words lotsa pasta on it and was like "boom we love Italian food let's go". So we pulled up in the parking lot. Walking through the front doors and we was surprised. This is a grocery store that has all Italian delicacies and food items. We noticed that there was a next door so we walked to the back and there was a small counter for ordering what looks like it use to be coffee and speciality drinks. A worker approached and we asked him about the place. He said it's a market but up front there is a deli that serves sandwiches and we were more than welcome to dine on the patio tables out front. We decided that may be cool so we browsed the market and found the deli. The market was very cool and fun to explore. The deli had a large menu and also every cheese I could ever imagine. From them menu I personally got the meatball sub. My wife got the soup of the day which was beef stroganoff, and my daughters got mozzarella and pepperoni pizza paninis. My wife and daughters picked out some cheeses to take home and eat later. My 19 month old also picked one out too as she found a cheese block and gnawed through the plastic. So we did the honorable thing and purchased it. Beside our food and cheese I also got us some canned sodas and some frozen cannolis as I've always wanted to try a cannoli and never had before. After the deli market you take it to the front counter for our purchases. A very nice lady greeted us and asked if we wanted some free bread today and pointed to a a shelf behind her with all kinds of fresh bread. We asked a what she would recommended and she said sourdough so that's what we got. She sliced it up using a machine and wrapped it for us and put with our purchase. Whole order cost around $70. So not bad at all For a family of 6 to eat and have speciality cheeses to take home. We went outside on a lovely patio and the male worker from earlier brought us out a trash can so we could dispose of our trash (top notch service in all aspects here). My meatball sub was phenomenal. Best meatball sub I've ever eaten. My daughters paninis were large and they loved them. I tasted the pepperoni pizza one and it was great. My wife loved her beef stroganoff and said her store purchase salad was good too. The cannolis was a three pack so we busted it open out there as well. I never had a Cannoli before so nothing to reference it too but it was really good. We all loved everything. We ordered and got here. We haven't jumped into our cheese purchases yet (19 month old doing a mouse impersonation in the store did I guess) but I'm sure it will be top notch too. No reason for us to think otherwise based off everything else so far. Overall a great experience and a super cool and unique place. How are more people not talking about this place? It's great. I'll absolutely come back and spread the word on this hidden Saint Mathews gem.

Diogenes can put down his lamp. He has found an honest Italian. And it's a nod to Louisville that the Louisvillianites appreciate it. We walked down every isle just to see what they have...usually I do that only at Walmart. I loaded up on so many Italian treasures. We got fresh Mozzarella, big deli sandwiches freshly made, fresh homemade spaghetti, some homemade marinara sauce, salami to cut up at home, and more. Deli joke: 2 fellows walk into a deli brining their own sandwiches with them. The owner yells "you can't eat your own sandwiches in here!" So the fellows swapped sandwiches.

So I went to a local farmers market and discovered a fellow selling Milwaukee Rye Bread. Being an east coast guy, I'm always in the prowl for a good rye. They're tough to find outside of NYC. Unknown to me, a Milwaukee Rye tastes Luke a Brooklyn Rye but with a finer grain. I bought 2 loaves. And I learned the vendor was from a brick n mortar called LotsaPasta. So, 2 weeks later I drive to the store. Yes, I bought 2 more loaves. And home made gluten free pasta. And home made marinara sauce. And home made olive oil mixed with thyme & oregano. Are you beginning to get the picture? In reality, LotsaPasta is a side by side market with a sit down restaurant. And if the restaurant is half as good as the market, it's a knockout. The market had all kinds of pasta, sauces, prepared Italian dinners, salamis and prosciutto. And of course, a huge selection of cheese. Best of all, the staff is incredibly helpful. I walked in with bread on my mind and left with a bagful of goodies. And call me a psychic, but I can see myself going back in another 2 weeks!

Worker handed me a sandwich that burned my had. He held on over a paper towel and dropped hot foil wrapped food in my hand. So hot I had to just drop in the basket. He found it hilarious, as did the cashier workers. Why???

This place is always busy. Great spot to pick up fresh Italian bread, frozen Lasagna and Eggplant Parmesan. Frozen cannolis are yummy too! Last minute dinner, voila! Haven't tried out the lunch menu and patio but intend to when it warms up.
