This is the only Mexican option in Scottsville. The building is brand new. Apparently the business has been around for years. 4 of us came for lunch on a Friday the place was busy. The service was slow. Normally that doesn't bother me. But it seemed like the manager was waiting tables and hosting all at the same time. Food wise it was good. I have had better Mexican food in KY. We started with chips salsa, guacamole and some quesso dip. The salsa was ok. Kinda bland. The cheese was good. For my meal I ordered a chimichanga with spicy chicken. There was really good cheese sauce over top the rice was good and the beans were good. The food was hot when it came out. However. The chicken was not spicy. It's ok cause it was still good. The chicken was super tender. Overall. The service was slow. I don't know if this was because it was a Friday. But I will be back here. It was a good option for Mexican without having to go 25 mins away to BB

In his review, Chad says, "It is not very clean," then provides the upside to that perspective. Here's the downside: food poisoning.I've lots of family and church friends in and around Scottsville, so I've tried Los Mariachis several times. Each time has resulted in ailments ranging from queasy stomachs to, well, much worse than that. This restaurant is now on my banned list, and for your health, you should avoid it.And the food clearly comes from the freezer. It has that "open-saran-wrap-then-chuck-in-microwave" essence to it.

I'm known for dragging people to restaurants. This place is a true dive. It is not very clean. Most upstanding people will drive on by. BIG MISTAKE. I have a lot of executives hooked on this places burrito. Unless they have changed the menu you can get a huge huge chicken burrito with onions and some type of red sauce that is one the best I have ever had. People almost walked out of here because it is not clean..but after eating the food they decided that looks can be "overlooked"...love this place..needs a remodel.

I would crawl through a mile of broken glass for a restaurant with a smoking section.,... Oh, and their foods good too.

This place is the best mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at & I've eaten at plenty. I don't know when Chad was referring to, but it is never dirty, has wonderful decorations, & gets an excellent food score with the health department, unlike China King next door usually does. It used to have some stuff on the floor when it had carpet but they were always sweeping it, but now it has nice looking tile, as it was totally re-done with new booths, chairs, & lights. I would not call it a dive, but it IS darker than most restaurants, kind of romantically lighted I guess. I'm not saying Amanda C. is lying, but I don't agree with her at all & don't think you should. I've eaten there over 100 times & it has always been excellent & my health is great. All mexican food can give you heartburn or diarrhea if you're prone to that. I just finished eating to-go food from there & it was excellent as always. Fajitas, good portion & excellent. Beef nachos, great. Chicken, rice, & cheese, so good. Cheese dip, best around. Salsa, varies but always good. Burrito, good. Desserts, excellent, try the churros or flan or sopapillas with honey & ice cream, superb. Chimichangas, quesadillas, huevos rancheros, all good. My wife & parents love the taco salad, but I've never tried it, not my thing. And, to me, the coke there is better than most anywhere, really, it's different. Unless you get a waiter who speaks little English (happens rarely), the service is almost always excellent. When it's not, it's because it is way busy, so try to sit near the front at those times for quicker service. I've never heard of one case of food poisoning at Los Mariachi's, and these things are logged at the health department when reported, but there have been many from next door (though the food is still delicious at China King, but my wife did get food poisoned there one time). You will not regret going to Los Mariachis & make sure to try it twice as everyone gets something they don't like at a new restaurant at least once.
