Had an absolute blast attending the second night of the LCF17. We went to see Fortune Feimster at the Buskirk. The opening acts were hilarious too. Fortune had everyone laughing and her interaction with the audience was great. After the show she sold her own merch in the lobby, signed autographs and posed for photos. This was our first time attending the Limestone Comedy Fest and we are hooked. Looking forward to next year. Thinking getting the multi-show pass next year would be a great idea.

We just attended the first show of the fifth annual festival and it has fantastic! The staff of the festival and the theatre were all incredibly friendly, the venue was great, and W. KAMAU BELL made me cry when he got everyone to sing. Great show, good openers, devilishly handsome host. Excited to check out more this weekend! Another reason to love b-town.

The Limestone Comedy Festival bills itself as The Greatest Weekend of Your Life. And I'd be hard pressed to say they're wrong in doing so. While there are differences each year of course, the Festival is terrific from top to bottom. Obviously, a comedy festival is primarily about the comedians. Limestone delivers on that front. Each year, they bring in spectacular headliners, often including folks you can't see on a comedy club stage. They then add around 50 of the best up and coming comedians you could possibly assemble. These comics are then put in a fantastic array of venues that are miraculously located so close to one another that there is never a need to get in your car the whole weekend. This festival is so well run that everything just seems to happen seamlessly. And it results in a fantastic vibe from the audiences and the comics. The only real bad thing about the Festival is you can't be in multiple places all at once and therefore you will not be able to see ALL the great comedians on any given year. You could make a great comedy festival out of just the people I haven't seen while attending Limestone. I'm not saying Limestone is the best weekend of my life every year, but since I can't think of a time I enjoy more every year, maybe I am saying that.

This is a phenomenal festival, with huge talent (big names and up-and-comers) and great venues. The Buskirk-Chumley Theater is a beautiful, historic theater and perfect for bigger shows (but not too big). The smaller venues are also wonderful, intimate but not too tight. It's so well-run, very organized and on time. The lineup is diverse, so whatever style comedy you like, you'll see it. I go every year and if you don't go, you are foolish. Don't be foolish!

Limestone Comedy Festival just finished up their fifth year. Unfortunately for us, we missed the first one but we've been to the last four. Always around the first of June, it's three days of non-stop laughing interrupted by eating great food at the downtown restaurants. The guys who put on the Festival do an amazing job lining up quality acts from all over the country. Each show has a headliner plus multiply opening acts. There are two, three or four shows a day, who knows...when laughing that much it's easy to lose track. It's spread out over several different venues, including The Comedy Attic and the Buskirk-Chumley Theater that are within a block or two of each other. The main hotel is just down the street. Downtown Bloomington is so pretty and unique with the different mix of restaurants, bars and even the fish on top of the courthouse. The Limestone Comedy Festival is on our Must Do list every year. Can't wait until next year.
