I love the farmers market! I passed tables that have beautiful flowers for sale at reasonable prices , baked goods , condiments (which truth be told are my favorites!). Bakes goods cheese meats and fresh beautiful vegetables. Wine was also available to buy . However I was on my way to work and didn't end up buying anything but definitely next time . I really enjoy the atmosphere of the market there's just something about it . Plus I'm all for supporting small businesses. So it's a win win for me !

A drive through the surrounding countryside will easily convince any urban Lexingtonian that there should be a good opportunity for farmer's markets. This one is notably near downtown and runs twice a week (the current location is Broadway and Maxwell not far from Rupp Arena). It's not a big one (maybe ten vendors if that), but the produce looked appealing, and I found numerous peppers. There was a surprising dearth of greens, so I may have to go elsewhere if I want a salad. Then again, maybe the next time I go here I'll find something new.

Love Lexington Farmers Market! I always enjoy coming on a Saturday morning, stroll around and check out some fresh produce. My husband and I went last weekend and the market was relocated to Rupp Arena's parking lot. This allowed for more spacing between vendors and the lines were conveniently marked for social distancing.

There are a lot of farmer vendors set up at this location which functions multiple days a week. All of the Farmers and workers are very friendly and helpful and all of the food is locally grown. I love that they accept SNAP benefits and WIC vouchers so that families that are low incomes can shop. Today they were also offering Free hotdogs and salad ms to everyone as well as free lunchables, apple sauce cups and chocolate milk.

This is the place to go for fresh produce from Fayette county and the surrounding areas, and because it is less popular that the huge, packed Saturday market downtown, the prices are better and it is easier to get what you need without all the hoopla. Also, the vendors here are less likely to be trucking in produce from large farms outside the state. While I understand the economics of bringing up peaches from Georgia - which is a good way for people to make a living and not all that bad considering - it just isn't what I go to the Farmer's Market to get and the fact that the produce is from out of state isn't well-labeled at either this market or the Saturday market.A great place to form a relationship with several regular vendors who can supply your fruits and vegetables, eggs, meat, dairy, and honey. My favorite peppers guy is always at both this market and the Saturday market - he has an enormous variety of peppers and was always happy to throw in one new one for me to try with my regular purchase. The same with my favorite tomato supplier.

This particular branch of the Lexington Farmer's Market is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 4, at the corner of Broadway and Maxwell. There is parking in a little lot on site. This is more of a utilitarian market, compared to the family-friendly bonanza the Farmer's Market puts on every weekend downtown on Saturdays and on Southland Dr. on Sundays. No music, balloon animals, or street food. But, that's all just fluff to me anyhow. Most of the usual produce vendors/farms come and the selection is every bit as good as on the weekend. Check out their website for more info!

Cookin' Up Kentucky Review - Our group of 22 people experienced the range of food products at the Lexington Farmers Market. I was most impressed with the vendor Chef Jacob Graves at Cookin' Up Kentucky. Chef Jacob was friendly, welcoming, and very open with explaining the logistics of his business. Because this business - mobile restaurant - is located in the middle of down town Lexington at the Lexington Farmers Market, there is a great promotional strategy with pedestrians walking to and or from work or school. There is also a great word of mouth advertising approach for this business because the premium service provided brings back repeat customers who bring in more consumers. To aid local venders at the market, Chef Jacob only uses foods from these venders when he is cooking up his delicious meals. This ensures the highest freshness and quality of all entrées, sides, specials, and drinks that he produces. This delectable cuisine reflects local foods and puts money back into the Lexington farmers market because of his support to the vendors therefore, it is helping keep the economic side of the farmer's market up and running. Service provided by this business could not have been faster with the quality of food that was being produced. My peer and I all enjoyed the food and the service because of the freshness, the nice service, and the speedy results after ordering in receiving our food (with about a ten minute wait tops.) I would highly recommend anyone to come down and get a taste of Kentucky by stopping by the farmers market to have lunch at Cookin' Up Kentucky.Mandy Pearce, one of my Berea College students and a EPG candidate wrote this review.

Atmosphere is awesome! Love the fresh food and knowing my money is going to local farmers. I will pay a little extra to know I am getting fresh, quality ingredients and helping to support my local economy. People are very friendly and parking is free across the street even though the parking spaces in the garage are cramped. Having free parking in downtown Lexington is definitely a plus for this event.
