The food is AMAZING! We went for the oyster happy hour.., which btw, you have to mention, it's not just given. We got 2 dozen oysters with the fresh cucumber minoitte, then split a pasta and ended the meal with a chocolate peanut butter lava cake. So delicious! We had fun with April at the bar. Highly recommend.

Came here on a very hot day which was too bad because the outdoor area looked lovely. But thats OK because we were sat by the window and had a very nice view of the river. I had the Crispy Grouper Cheek Po'Boy: topped with a creamy toasted mustard seed slaw, remoulade sauce and house made pickles. It came with fries, which i obviously overlooked because I also ordered the Lump Crab Risotto as a side. It was really good except it was too much and I had to take it home.So we had Short rib wontons and cornbread to start, the wontons were fire! They were so good. Cornbread was great as well, but those wontons were an experience!Service was top notch and very attentive. My one complaint is that I wish they would disallow infants. This is a very small, intimate space and halfway through our meal a family came in with their very young child and all it did was screech these ear piercing shrieks the rest of our time there. I know its not Levee's fault but it definitely marred what was a lovely evening out.

First time visit. It was close to empty on a Saturday night. Despite that, the service was slow (server was nice, though). Food quality was just average. I know it's hard to find good chefs and solid management that care and can produce a good product, but I feel that's what's probably missing here. The facility, though, was well appointed and nicely decorated.

Nestled on the riverfront of Louisville, this is a must visit. This is was an experience. We enjoyed 3 courses and of course a few mixed bourbon drinks, which were only overshadowed by the food. If you're celebrating something and want an amazing place without a crazy price, this is it!! Everything tasted amazing. Decor: Trendy upscale. Beautifully lit. It was not too notice.

After a long dry spell for restaurants that you take your first bite and want to roll your eyes back in ecstasy, this is the second fabulous meal we've had recently. It's a gorgeous setting, right on the river and you can opt to sit inside or outside. We opted for a window seat for dinner and then enjoyed sitting on the patio to watch the sunset and river traffic. Tyler was our server and he did a great job taking care of us and my husband got a kick out of joking with him. His comebacks were witty and his recommendations on point. We each started with drinks. A house red for him and the cranberry pomegranate mule for me. We both enjoyed them and mine was so refreshing!! We shared the crab artichoke dip as an appetizer. Yum! For our main course, he went with the surf and turf pasta special and I had the grouper cheeks with shrimp. This is where our delight with our first bites really came in. We also shared the tropical fruit sundae for dessert. It was my least favorite course but still very good. It's important to note that both the appetizer and main dishes were out of my comfort zone and that I didn't regret pushing myself one bit (I did this on purpose. Many seafood items are just too fishy for me). I highly recommend checking this place out.

The Levee at the River House is one of those places that I have been wanting to try. My wife and I really enjoyed our evening at the River House, with excellent food, great service and adult beverages. Knowing that the two are connected we looked forward to trying the Levee.Well one night after we had finished dinner, we decide to head over to the Levee for drinks and dessert.... We pulled up without reservations and the parking lot attendant told us 1 and a half hour wait, but since we only wanted drinks, that they may be able to set us at the bar....So, with anticipation, we found a parking spot and happily strolled into Levees...We pulled open the door expecting to hear a lively place, music, lots of people, laughing, etc....What greeted us was nothing we had expected. Silence and hardly anyone in the place... Now, remember we were told there was a 1 and a half wait for a table... There were empty tables everywhere and only a had full of people... One lonely couple sat at the bar, another group of young professionals were camped out in the back, and a couple of tables that were on the stage had families dining at them. No music, no rattle of drinks, no people laughing and having a good time, etc... just dark, quiet and depressing. We could see a few people at the outside bar, but this was not the place we were expecting...We found a quiet table close to the bar, and the bartender told us we could just yell our orders to her... My wife selected the Michter's Campfire Old fashion, I had the Holy Mole Manhattan....Both drinks were major disappointments... Nothing like the one we had at The River House... The bartender used one the smallest torches I have ever seen to try and a char to the marshmallow in my wife's drink... Mine was nothing but straight alcohol... I never complain about a strong pour, but this was not good at all...As we set there in our disappointment, we started trying to figure out what was going on.... Seeing the tables spread across the interior and the ones on the stage, we concluded that the owners, in an attempt to keep their business open under the Governor's lockdowns had expanded into the Levee to increase the number of patrons that could be served while staying at the governor's arbitrary capacity limits. And now, being able to open back up, and lots of people having no desire to go back to work, the management team just could not hire enough staff to cover the Levee. It is the only thing that makes sense... They are on the river with great views, they have the space, the décor works, they share a kitchen with a restaurant that has great food, and they have a built-up demand for people to get out and enjoy themselves....But for whatever reason, it is just not working...We decided to call it a night and did not even order desserts....The Levee is one of those places I really want to work. I want it to be the kind of place I can take our out-of-town guests to. I know for us to have great places like the Levee could be, we must support them. For all the above reasons I am giving them 2 stars.... I look forward to them getting back on their feet and giving me chance to raise their score. My wife and I so want the Levee to succeed!

Great food and the presentation is nice! I really enjoy the atmosphere. There is the restaurant side and the lounge side. The restaurant side is more of a semi-formal and light music. This side closes around 11ish. The lounge side has a live band and a dance floor where where you can dance the night away. This side closes at 2 a.m. There is outdoor seating on a large deck with two bar areas. You can see beautiful views of the river. There is a additional seating in the lawn area and a fire pit. I really like the vibe there. Drinks are average price, no drink or food specials. I'm not sure if they have an happy hour menu. I didn't see one available or heard about one. Overall, it's a good relaxing experience.
