Lana's Family Restaurant

Small diner with simple menu. We had breakfast and it was very good. Service was fast and she checked back often.

I just moved to Northern Kentucky this weekend and my daughter suggested we go to breakfast. That's how we ended up at Lana 's Dinner It was an excellent choice the food was typical home cooked meal! It was more.than I could eat I would like the little train engine that said I think I can. I think I can. I knew I could and it was well worth it! The service is great. The servers made sure that we had plenty of coffee and water and they also made sure that everything was OK. add this diner is in the old part of Newport and it is a very wildcat building. It was clean.. and the price was very reasonable. Now that I live here. I'll be going there quite often for breakfast.

We have been trying all the spots in Bellevue, Newport, Covington, etc and so far this is one of my favorites. It's simple, with really reasonable pricing and plentiful food with each order. And please remember smoking hasn't been in here since 2020. We also got a parking spot right in front, free. There were a handful open around us and we were here on a Wednesday morning around 9. There were many "regulars" when we were there and I loved that and felt like we were in for a good meal....and we were. I couldn't decide what to get and wanted protein but am sick of eggs and felt like a burger but also wanted pancakes.... so indecisive . I was appreciative that I could get two kids meals. I ended up taking most of the burger back to my kiddo and she loved it. It was a good homemade burger and the fries were great! All was hot- like, right off the grill/fryer hot... so good. The pancakes were good but next time I will likely go with an omelet. many people around me had an omelet and they looked awesome! My husband had the veggie omelet and it was really good.. I took a bite and he was also really satisfied and tried everything and liked it all as well... We will definitely be back here!Service was friendly and good... thank you

Great local NON CHAIN option for breakfast & lunch. Menu that does what it says...doesn't try to do too much. Overall it's a five in the space it occupies. Simple, straight forward and GOOD FOOD!

Good menu if you are looking for a full diner meal! Nothing fancy or too different than other diners but the food is solid and prices are affordable.

My daughter and I went here because she claimed they had the best liver and onions. Well, maybe not the best, but they certainly were very good. Liver and onions were not on the menu, but the waitress informed us they always had them. Looking around, most of the other diners had biscuits and gravy, they must be the local favorite. The restaurant is clean, but definitely not fancy. I recommend you give it a try when in the area.

For those old enough to remember, after a night of fun the only answer is a good "greasy spoon" place for some eggs and potatoes and coffee. Today, I'm surrounded by fancy places with menus like books- $20 avocado toast and French toast stuffed with all kinds of sugary stuff. Thank God for Lana's. Breakfast the way it should be. I had 3 eggs, perfectly cooked potatoes (real, honest to god chunked potatoes- not those preprocessed preformed shreds) and a slab of ham that hung over the edge of the plate. The eggs were perfect. Over easy meant runny yolk and there wasn't a bit of grease char on the eggs. Fully cooked all the way through but the yolks ran into the potatoes to create the perfect breakfast plate. The group also had Biscuits &Gravy. Huge, handmade biscuits as big as your fist- split and smothered in pepper gravy. Swimming in gravy. Drowned in gravy. So much gravy. You get the idea. Pancakes as big as a dinner plate. Grits. Rye toast. I could go on.Everything was less that $10 a plate. My 3 egg-ham-potatoes & toast was $7.75. Service was fast and pleasant. Ketchup and Hot Sauce without asking. These ladies have be there awhile and knew their business. We left there stuffed with some of the best chow I've had in a long time. This isn't fine dining. Too many breakfast places try to act like that. I'll take this place for breakfast over anyplace else within 100 miles. I'm so happy wonderful places like Lana's still exist

When you think of traditional diner breakfast, think of Lana's. Portions ate huge for the price and food has always come out wonderful. Usually staff is quick but if it's crowded, expect a wait. Highly, highly recommend

Tried Lana's Diner for the first time.Time of our visit came just after their lunch rush. It was obvious they had been busy and at the moment of our arrival, there was only one server waiting tables. While there was a little wait, it was understandable why. The one server, though overwhelmed, did not allow the circumstance to rattle her or keep her from pushing on to take care of customers. I was impressed by how she worked her job without letting her job work her. Her attitude remained polite and helpful to those she was serving. Food was very good and was presented as quickly as was reasonably possible. It was good service considering the circumstance. I give Lana's 5 Stars We will be back!! I highly recommend this down-home diner!!

this is one of my regular spots in Newport Kentucky. I love this place. Staff is awesome. Food is great.
