La Trattoria

We joined two other couples last night for a delightful time at this establishment. First our server was top notch and very attentive to our needs. I ordered one of the specials, Cajun pasta and my GF ordered Pesto Pasta. Both were delicious and more than enough food. The restaurant is housed in an old downtown building in Winchester and is both charming, warm and inviting. We will definitely be returning

I always have to rave about La Trattoria - their orzo salad is SO good and lasts me for two meals! I replace the chicken with their meatball and you shouldn't knock it until you try it! Definitely a higher price point than you would expect for a small town I. Kentucky, but worth it because of the quality and freshness!

I was very excited to try La Trattoria as there aren't many Italian restaurants in the area & it's been there for a few years. The place is beautiful, great decor, tin ceiling, big old wooden bar, but that's about it. Went in & had to call over a waitress after 20 minutes of sitting. We knew what we wanted as we looked up the menu online. Waited 45 minutes for food! Then had to chase down the waitress for silverware!Not once did she come to refill drinks or even check on us. The food was OK, I would think that a dinner would come with a salad or a piece of bread, but No. Went in for a quick dinner & 2 hours later, left disappointed. I doubt I'll ever go back.

My friends and I were headed back to Cincinnati from the Gorge and wanted to find a place with pasta. This is the place! It's about 30 minutes from Red River Gorge and in the middle of a small town.It's a small dining area that could probably accommodate around 10 groups, we got seated right away. Our server was sweet and helpful.The food was delicious, I got Chicken Alfredo which I haven't had in years and it hit the spot! The chicken was tasty and the alfredo was the perfect noodle size and consistency. I got the breadstick and side salad as well and it was the perfect amount to fill up a hungry hiker.

The penne gorgonzola pasta was fantastic! The portion was very big and I got to enjoy it for dinner the next day too. If I ever make it to Winchester, KY again I will definately go back to La Trattoria. The calamari & watermelon margarita was also very good. The wait for our dinners was a bit slow, but the deliciousness of the pasta made up for it. I definitely recommend eating here.

I have never had an Italian dining experience before that had no bread anywhere. We were disappointed in the food; the chicken in the chicken parm was tasteless. The cheese in the sauce tasted like it had gone to mold and it left a decidedly weird, not-parmesan taste. The salad was fresh, but I asked for no green peppers and got little squares of them anyway that had to be carefully dodged. Our server apologized probably 7-8 times during our visit for the slow service, for us having to ask for napkins and silverware, for more slow service; we were friendly and tried to stay out of her hair so she could work, but we sat without things we needed more than not (like a clean knife and more water and a napkin). It wasn't very busy but it looked like she was running the bar and most of the tables without much help. We have no reason to ever go back.

Went in to La Trattoria on a Friday night. Food was solid. Had the chicken parmigiana. Big portion, sauce was delicious (tasted homemade). My only issue was after taking my drink/food order I never saw my server again. Asked a random bartender for my bill. Still couldn't find my server. Paid with cash and left my bill/cash on the bar. Good food though.

When I had food here last I was blown away by their pesto pasta with bacon. (highly recommend) the service was very kind and friendly. and the overall feel and look to this establishment was unique! if you're ever in Winchester i highly recommend you see what they got!!

Nice vibe, fresh food and very tasty! Will eat there again. Service was okay could have been little better.

I ate outside. Service was great. However, I got a bowl of pasta half full. It tasted like chef boy are dee!. No flavor or herbs. It wasn't aldente. I could have stayed home for this. It was embarrassing. I felt bad for the server. Not her fault. I payed over 12 bucks at lunch. It was literally 6 bites. No flavor. I will never go back there
