La Lupita Mexican Restaurant

Ummmm, authentic and delicious!!!!! I'm not an El Nopal fan, so if that is what you are looking for....skip this place. We've tried so many things here; tacos (sheep, barbacoa, chorizo, chicken, chicharon, lingua), sopas, some Mexican pizza, mole chicken, but my favorite thing in the menu is...pork tamales! I know that is a simple or basic dish, but theirs are amazing! Full of flavor, the corn meal is perfect, the pork is seasoned perfect. They are just delicious!The place has booths and tables to eat-in and during Covid-19, they are doing carry out. Some employees do not speak English well, so be patient if ordering over the phone.

This was my first visit to La Lupita. And I'll happily return. La Lupita has an exceptionally wide ranging menu of Mexican food. I must confess that I hadn't hard of many of the things on the menu. So there's much I'd like to try in the future. Service was a bit below par on this particular night, but still good enough. The ambience is nothing to write home about, I'm afraid. But not every place has to be high end. After some more visits, I may decide this is a hidden gem of the area. I'm not there yet, but I could easily see it happening.

First, I want anyone reading this to know we eat lunch out 3 to 4 times EVERY week. Additionally, I know prices are up everywhere. Both my wife and I each had one tamale and one gordita. We each had a side of refried beans.We both felt the tamales ($3.75) just weren't good. They were dry and the meat (pork) was dry and so tough you couldn't cut it. The only redeeming thing about our meals were the gorditas ($4.75). My wife had the carnitas gordita and I had the chorizo gordita. Both gorditas were excellent!I had a couple Mexican bottle beers ($5.00) each.My wife had a diet Coke served in a plastic bottle, no refills. We were charged $4.50 for a bottle of Coke, not Mexican Coke. Really? $4.50?The employees are extremely nice and previously we've had some pretty good meals.

As always, great food. Excellent service. Though I still think their fajitas are best. The chicken enchiladas were packed. 4 to the serving. The tamale was unlike I'd ever seen, but my son said it was terrific.

Delicious! More authentic than you'll get at most places. Three different hot sauces are offered along with the salsa; one of them has a wonderful smoky taste.

I lived in this area for a long time but never tried this until my boyfriend recommended it. Everything about it is very welcoming, from the beautiful planters outside to the friendly staff within. My favorite is guacomole and they make it stunning - chunky avocado, cilantro, tomatoes *chef's kiss* The salsas are also so wonderful and fresh. I could eat here every day it's so good. The vegetarian fajitas are perfect, come with mushrooms, tomatoes, green peppers, and onions charred to perfection. The rice and beans are perfect. The employees are so kind and fast! Everything about this place is wonderful. I'm so happy to live near this gem.

This place had authentic Oaxacan food. Me and my husband had the tlayuda and it was delicious

Their stale pastries are better than the freshest ones out of a French bakery. The service is amazing- everyone is so polite and friendly. Just be advised that they are cash only, so be sure to have enough to cover your meal and a tip!

This was fantastic. Everything I'd hoped it would be and more. The Al Pastor nachos were out of this world!

Fantastic food! The Lupita Especial was fabulous, as was the homemade salsas and guacamole! We will be coming back again for sure...thank you for the authentic experience
