La Fresita

This little shop is located in a small strip mall off OldShepherdsville road. They have ice cream, popsicles, specialty treats and snack food options. The service is friendly and fast. There is seating inside the store. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at certain times off the day, if the other stores are busy.

I don't give 5 stars ever!! But this is hands down the best ice cream in the whole city, the flavors are unbelievable!! Some Real fruit flavors you can't find in the city anywhere, even the grocery store, Mango, Nancite, Guava, Mamey!! Mamey ice cream, not even in Miami, I have to leave the US to south or Central America to get some of these flavors, if your used to the typical frozen milk that is stirred into so called ice cream and added flavors or preserves that they sell around town, don't come here, if you want creamy flavors that you can't find anywhere, this is your place. Know this, most are tropical real fruits, what does that mean?, fruits that are not native to the US and only grow in subtropical or tropical land. Tamarind is off the chain, I'll be back again and again and again. Yeah you can find your typical flavors, that's not what makes this place special. Venture off your typical tastebuds and explore and you won't be disappointed. I don't get the reviews cause the person serving is very helpful and polite, maybe a language barrier but I can tell you the few times we've been here, many people come and go, and they are very polite.

I debated even writing this review because I want to keep this spot my own little secret. But wow. After finding them on the Yelp, this has been my new obsession. I have tried so many things, and I can't even pick a favorite because everything is wonderful. They have so many options and flavors, it's so hard to just get one or two things. Their mangonada and esquites are by far my favorite. I was also able to make the esquites extra spicy, which I appreciate. They have a their own parking lot and it's super easy to get in and out of. They also have a few tables inside if you want to hang out.

National Ice Cream day was the perfect reason to head out on a hot Sunday for some cool relief. My friend and I wanted to try something new without driving all over town. Upon checking Yelp, we came across La Fresita. Turns out, it was all of 10 minutes from my house. Located in a very small shopping strip, it's right between a bar and a small car lot. The inside was clean and smelled amazing. In my quest to try something new, I got a strawberry aqua (basically strawberry water). It was thicker than regular water but thinner than a shake. With as hot as the day was, it was extremely refreshing and hit the spot. They offer popsicles, shakes, mangonadas, yogurt and more. This is right on my way home from work and I will definitely be stopping in again soon.

VERY unprofessional. The worker ignored me for nearly 10 minutes sitting on their phone. And when I tried to get his attention I was met with a cup of yogurt thrown in my face

This place is outstanding! they make their ice cream in house!! The mangonada díablito was yum and the cookies and cream ice cream. We also tried the pistachio, cream cheese and chocolate ice cream was out of this world. The staff was very kind and friendly:-) We will definitely recommend this place

Very friendly! The mango ice cream and Fresas con Crema is sooo good! 10/10 recommend

food is pretty good, customer service on the other hand needs work. Some items are pretty pricey too I must say.
