My first time visiting here. Small town in Kentucky has a very decent Mexican restaurant,. You enter to lively cheerful music playing. The waitstaff were pleasant however, there was a language barrier. The menu is huge. There is a great vegetarian options Unlike many Mexican restaurants this place has a plethora of vegetable offerings along with your traditional meats. The stand outs were the tamale and the chile Relleno. I ordered the sampler plate. It's enough for two. The ground beef in the dishes was bland. The guacamole was plentiful but extremely salty mixed together OK. The chips and salsa that they begin with were delicious and fresh. The chicken was seasoned well I look forward to trying the Birra the next time I come. There's plenty of parking.

I passed by this place numerous times thinking "a small Mexican place like this out in the country of Kentucky is not going to be that good"... I was very wrong! The food that this place serves is fantastic. The quesabirria tacos are a favorite of mine. They make some awesome tamales as well with the perfect meat to masa ratio. Wife really enjoys their burritos. Price is reasonable, and the service is very friendly and quick. We typically only get our food to go (as we live just up the street) so I cannot speak to the ambiance while dinning, but it certainly looks clean and nice. I definitely recommend trying La Cabana for delicious Mexican food!

Rated as 1 through 5.Appearance - 2.5It is modest and fairly clean. Paint appeared to be hastily applied.Ambiance - 4There was nice, traditional Mexican music in the background that could have been turned down by one notch. Not a deal breaker. Staff/Service - 3Our waiter was pleasant, but disappeared as our order came up and the kitchen staff had to come out and find someone to bring the food to the table. There wasn't a huge wait, but they clearly weren't paying attention.Food - 3My wife ordered the streak fajitas and I ordered fish tacos. The presentation was typical for a lower key Mexican restaurant, but not bad. The steak fajitas were completely tasteless. That surprised me because my fish tacos were good. The rice and beans were very good.Overall, we agreed it was a place to be used in a pinch. It's unfortunate that Mexican restaurants in this region are, for the most part, bland. I've been told that by one Mexican place that people here won't eat authentic Mexican, which I find unfortunate if true. Being from Southern CA has spoiled us for excellent Mexican food. Well, we'll keep looking.
