Kountry Kupboard

The Kountry Kitchen was an exchange point on the Ragnar Bourbon Chase run this past weekend. Our team arrived around 3:30/4am and the battery in our van died. Luckily for us, Lou was there and he had a jumper box and graciously agreed to help us. We tried to give him a love offering but he politely declined. He was so nice to not just us, but to all of the runners. Everyone in line was allowed to use the restroom even after the store closed for the night. While waiting in the bathroom line, I was able to see the store's wide variety of pickles and all things pickled! There was really good coffee and tons of snacks. Shout out to the cashier with the perfect Bob. Her hair was laid which was amazing for 4 am. If you're in the area, stop by. Tell Lou that Team Bourbon Beauties & Bad Decisions says hi.

BEST sandwiches, Deli and hard to find foods! The staff are incredible. You can purchase fresh tomatoes, to bulk bags of rice or grain, seasonings, country candy, jams and local honey! The Deli is incredible and so are the cuts of meat! Oh, Amish butter and local milk.

I loved their variety of bulk snacks and spices. The staff was very friendly, even called most customers by their first names. I loved their made to order deli sandwiches! They offer over 20 different varieties of cheese and just as many different meats to choose from. If you are having a hard time deciding, don't stress! You can try anything for free! It's like an Amish version of a Subway but you get 2x the food for half the price!

Kentucky's countryside is beautiful. Just like the poets say, Kentucky is nothing but endless blue grass, winding white fences and 10 foot bales of hay dotting the landscape. However, when Maker's Mark has worked its magic on you and a satisfying lunch becomes a necessity, look no further than Kountry Kupboard. Locals recommended it, and touristy foodies agree: it is a find. If you ever doubt the Amish, come check this place out. Delicious bulk foods pack the shelves in convenient well labeled baggies. Everything from sesame sticks to celery salt, the Kupboard is chock full of goodies. Their cranberry pumpkin seed mix delighted my belly and sated all snack hankerings throughout the long weekend. And the newly installed soft serve cooled our baked city brains and left us feelin' just fine. And then the sandwiches... Two words: weighty and cheap. All sandwiches weighed about a pound... seriously. And they were all under $4!!! I was with a group of guys known for their eating skills and only ONE could finish his sandwich. It was shocking. My veggie sandwich was just as weighty as the roast beef and was only $3... Yes, $3.Don't you dare go to Subway when you can grab a sandwich here.

Wonderful sandwiches!! $4.50 for a sandwich (pick from lots of choices of meats and cheese by filling out an order sheet at the deli counter). Country Ham is a little more ($5.00 for the sandwich), but it is definitely worth it!! Lots of great snacks (like sesame sticks and wasabi peas, etc.). Lots of drinks to choose from (they have Ale8). Also, try their Salvisa Dip (I describe it as a country-style hummus).

Country Kupboard is a must do on 127! Everything from snacks, to sandwiches, bulk spices, hand made items- just wonderful place to explore and eat. They have lots of hard to find cooking items - flours, spices, spices mixtures, and fantastic desserts! They were out of hummingbird cake, (no birds included, snicker,) but offered to bake us one if just called and told them when! Marvelous and people!

Awesome country deli sandwiches, packed generously with toppings. Efficient and friendly service.

Best sandwiches around. Piled high with your choice of a wide selection of meats and cheeses, dressed to your liking. Try them sometime, you won't be disappointed!! Prices are very reasonable too.
