We ate at KingFish restaurant while on vacation. It was not a good decision. Awful ambience. Food was bland and not great. My fish was gristly. My husband's fries looked like packaged oven fries. The green beans looked like they were out of a can. Staff were shabby looking. The views were decent, but you can get those along the shoreline anyway. Couldn't wait to leave. Wish we'd dined at the restaurant next door.

We were driving through and decided to give it a chance. The food was amazing! I had the citrus and pepper tilapia which was delicious. Others ordered wharf platter and fish po boy. Kids had grill cheese and chicken tenders. Those were the best dang tenders I've tasted. We sat outside and even with a light rain it was the best view! Our server, Whitney, was so sweet and had lots of menu suggestions-very helpful. She also checked on us frequently despite being busy. Awesome experience!

I live so near Kingfish, it's kind of surprising that we don't go more often. We chose to have lunch during lent there, and were blown away. The hushpuppies were big, tender, and flavorful. Let me tell you- the fish sandwich and coleslaw were absolutely amazing. I'm sad I've lost out on so many potential times to eat there, but will make up for it now!!!

We had been planning on this for weeks, and were really looking forward to eating here. The food WAS good, and the setting can't be beat. But we have not had such poor service in years. My partner had to go to the server's station TWICE to (1) find our server; and (2) to get the rest of his meal. The server never came back to see how we were doing, and I didn't even see her leave the check. We waited and waited to pay her, and when she brought back the change (we paid in cash) the bill was rounded UP to the nearest dollar, We never saw her leave the change!Too bad she only got a $.70 tip from me, and frankly that was too much.

This place was recommended to me by a local years ago and I make it a regular stop every time I travel to Louisville. Since it's just across the river the city view is excellent and the food is always delicious! Service has always been good and the hush puppies are always fresh and hot. You may have to wait for a table outside, but the wait is definitely worth it for the view.

I had high hopes for this restaurant! I should have read the reviews My family in Louisville suggested this place on the Ohio River. Whelp, the view is nice! The food was a major disappointment! Everyone, no matter the order was not satisfied with their meal. The clam chowder was watery and tasteless! The Louisiana gumbo not a hint of Cajun/Creole seasoning. The green beans like they just dumped them straight from the can. The catfish greasy and salty. Even the fries were undercooked. The cod like cardboard and the coleslaw indescribably bad.Just keep driving if you see the Kingfish! You will regret this dinner choice

Actually no clue why the ratings are so low. We really liked the food. Both of us had thought we remembered liking the food, but I was nervous something had changed since neither of us had been there in a handful of years.It was still really good. I'm vegetarian so I just got the four sides meal. The coleslaw was perfect and the fries were really good too. I also got two Mac n cheeses. The Mac was so so so good. My boyfriend got shrimp and fish and really liked it. They also give complimentary hush puppies which are huge, have great flavor, and are cooked perfectly.The only complaint I had is that I called ahead on our car ride there because it was Friday during lent. They said there was absolutely no wait and we could get right in. We showed up 15 minutes later and we ended up having to wait 30 mins. I don't mind waiting at all at places, but it was a bit annoying having called and being told we wouldn't wait...

Update, had a friend who was in Louisville who ate there while she was visiting last week. She packaged and brought back some of the tartar sauce from the restaurant back to me. Can confirm- this sauce is elite! Compared it with high level local tartar in Wisconsin and Kingfish is still the champ. I'd give something to have the recipe for this! Yes, now you know I'm a weirdo, please be kind!
