Kentucky Smoked BBQ

Wow! The pulled pork these guys make is amazing. They are only open on Saturday at the St. Matthews farmers market, for now. I highly recommend you come try anything they make. Well worth it. They sell pulled pork sandwiches, a breakfast sandwich, pork sliders and a weekly special. Their pork is magical.Come out on Saturday at Beargrass Christian Church and get the best pulled pork in Louisville.

I've only had their BBQ once and at the St. Matthews Farmers' Market at Beargrass Christian, but that was enough to make me a fan. First, they serve Ale-8-One, a sign of class. Second, I had their breakfast sandwich, which consisted of pulled pork, a fried egg, and some cheese. It was delicious. I thought I knew what melt-in-your-mouth good was when it came to pulled pork, but these folks take it to another level. The pork just dissolves into your mouth. Your teeth pass through the meat with no resistance at all, and all that sweet, salty, porky goodness just floods in. Aah. And then you wash it down with your Ale-8. Bliss.

Best BBQ this side of the Mississippi! Pro tip - buy it by the pound and use it as meal prep for the next work week. Still tastes as good on Friday as it did on Saturday!

Solid, solid BBQ... I love this place because they balance old school smoking w some creative dishes (breakfast sandwich w fried egg was the bomb). Would love to see a spicy version too!

I heard about these guys from the St. Matthews Farmers Market newsletter & on my next visit, I had to try. The guys were super nice & after discovering I also dabble in BBQ, asked me questions about how I smoke things & couldn't have been more inviting. We tried their pulled pork sandwich & it was as juicy & tender as one could ask for. They offered three homemade sauces & personally, I preferred the meat sauce less. Ahhh! This place has awesome food. We shared wings, ribs, chicken, brisket and deep friend bread and butter pickles. Every bite was really great. Good service too.try it.

I was at the St. Matthews farmer's market like every Saturday morning, and saw the crowd around the stand for BBQ pulled pork. I saw people eating the sandwiches and they looked SO good, I had to give one a try. They give you a sample of pork if you haven't had theirs before. The pork itself was really good; tender, juicy and very flavorful. I got the breakfast pulled pork sandwich which had a slice of cheese and a fried egg on it, plus a smear of some fruit chutney (not sure what that was, but delish!). The portion of meat is huge, the bun seems to be a fresh made butter bread or brioche type, and the eggs are fried right there. The sweetness of the chutney complemented the smokey pork. Really different kind of breakfast sandwich, but I'll be doing it again! And recommending it!
