Loved this little local coffee shop! Our group (10 people) showed up at opening on Sunday morning...wearing witches hats...and I'm sure the staff were mildly terrified. But we went to the back of the café (plenty of room) to be out of everyone's way. The staff was patient and helped all of us. We enjoyed the space, the drinks, the food (which they brought to us...we didn't have to go up front and get it), and the friendly service. It's a fun, quirky little place and locals were also kind to our group. Thumbs up!

Small, intimate place. Cozy hole in the wall that offers coffee, drinks, and food. Ordered a pastry and coffee that were okay, but got the job done on my early morning passing through.

Was exploring downtown Frankfort on a Sunday morning and stumbled upon this coffee shop. It's so cute! Like a library with lots of shelved books, a Tiki bar???, cozy seats and exceptional service. I really enjoyed the Cider Chai. Yummers!

Was looking for a coffee shop in Frankfort and this was a great find. Was able to have a zoom meeting and get a nice coffee here. Lots of comfy seating options. We enjoyed the s'mores latte (pictured) which was yummy, more on the chocolatey side. The blueberry scone warmed was really yummy. All their baked goods looked freshly homemade. We also had the bourbon hot chocolate was strong but what you'd expect from what it is. If you like bourbon then you'll enjoy this. Lastly, I'm from Cali and my Kentucky born partner had me try the Ale8 flavors orange cream and ginger ale, which was a good experience to taste local soda, but I'm not a big soda drinker in general. Great service and experience overall! If I lived in the area, I'd return!

Everyone working here was so beyond sweet and kind when I was ordering as it was my first time in! They had seasonal drink specials as well as lots of syrup flavors for their drinks. My drink was pretty good too! Besides that the inside of the shop was adorable and had fantastic lighting! They had very cute decor with books and games along the wall. Lots of indoor seating options with comfortable chairs

This place is such an interesting spot for the area, we came to Lexington for my bachelorette and were needing coffee and break after Buffalo Trace. This seemed like the only coffee shop in the area so we figured we would give it a try. This is so eclectic. They style is fun and very thrifted - all their tables were old Chili's tables! We loved the recycled theme. The decor was so interesting and unique, like they just find fun thrifted things and add it. We loved it. It is definitely an older building and not in pristine, clean condition, but that was okay with us. It reminded us (including the smell haha!) of our OG hippie grandmas house. Definitely feels like something you'll find in California. They had a line the whole time we were there so don't expect this to be a quick experience. They make everything there though. We got a couple sandwiches and I thought everything was super good, no one complained. I really loved how customizable they make it.Coffee was fantastic, they know how to pull a great espresso shot, had TONS of flavors, used high quality coffee, and even had tons of alternative milk options. It was a nice surprise. It's also connected to the cutest bookshop that we spent like 20 minutes in, so make sure to explore!!

What a delightful place to slow down and enjoy a hot drink or meal. The ambience is very inviting. There are books to read or you can just people watch. A store is connected for perusing local crafts and various other local items. Just remember not to rush; this place is in no hurry. Take a few deep breaths and enjoy.

Kentucky Coffeetree Cafe has about everything, bakery items, breakfast food, coffee, wine and spirits and a movie projector? Proceed at your own risk. We came here for a coffee and possibly something to eat, however after seeing everything on the inside we settled on just a iced coffee and mocha, so far food poisoning hasn't set in. We started to get a little scared when we seen a pile of pre-made sausage biscuits in a cooler in the front counter and then what looked like quiches coming out and being placed in the sink for washing dishes. What pushed this place over the edge......in a bad way, was while we were in line an Orkin pest control man came out of a closet next to where we stood in line to order and then he proceeded to spray around the outside of the front door. I can only imagine what he was spraying for on the inside of this place.

I was in the area visiting the Capitol and found this little gem! The place is friendly, warm and inviting. I had a cafe mocha and a few baked items made fresh. The coffee was amazing, the pastry delicious and the whole experience was fantastic If I come back to this area I will definitely return.

EDIT: this business owner is not being truthful. I did not "yell" at her employee(s). I went in and calmly explained to (one) barista that I was not trying to cause any trouble, bought a coffee and left. And again, no, I was not "soliciting", a claim that keeps getting repeatedly made. I have not once busked (or "solicited") in front of this cafe, because I already asked a long time ago and I know not to do it there. Just because I have a bucket near me does not mean I'm soliciting. The bucket and instrument were "out"... am I supposed to put those things in my pocket? I had just been working! This is all so petty. Just admit that you went overboard and acted ridiculous. No need to double down, AND lie in order to justify your behavior. I've never disrespected you, your employees, or any of your store policies. Frankly I don't care how you feel about me, but what I will not tolerate is lying about my character. I never raised my voice at a single soul that works at your cafe, I respect those folks so much. Your dishonest attempt to paint me as a troublesome person really just reflects the kind of person you are. I'm not the kind of person who yells at a coffee shop employee, that's just a nasty thing to claim about someone. You are, however, the kind of person who yells at paying customers minding their own business. Shame on you for thinking you can treat the locals like this. Absolutely unacceptable. Y'all won't EVER get a lick of my business.I really don't like to leave any kind of negative review like this, especially about a local place, but the way I was treated here recently was unacceptable. I've been coming here for years, but I no longer feel valued, respected, or welcome.I'm a generally respected local street performer (and a Frankfort native), and last Friday I was taking a break at a table outside the KY Coffeetree Cafe (as a paying customer). I'm just minding my business when the owner comes out and tells me that I can't perform here. I'm already aware of that and reassure her that I was simply taking a break, not performing.I thought it was a misunderstanding, all seemed well, and she went back in. She comes out a few minutes later with a raised voice and an attitude, accusing me again of performing and runs me off essentially just because I have my busking gear on me. It was unnecessarily callous and rude, not to mention just plain weird, mean-spirited behavior. I thought this place was supposed to be about kindness and community?I was not loitering, performing, "soliciting", causing a scene, disturbing anyone or anything whatsoever. I've been frequenting and patronizing this place for years... and this is how I'm treated? Seriously disappointing. Of course it's your business, run it however you like, but I doubt berating and running off customers is a great business model. I certainly won't tolerate it.Buskers and paying customers are human beings, too, and much like everyone else I'd prefer to be treated like one. Really shameful behavior.
