This place is still top notch but in every way. Compliment to their great website and customer service. It is well organized and easy to use.The other day I bought expensive tickets for a Broadway musical on their website to surprise my wife for her birthday.I got the surprise when she didn't want to go the show and so I called the box office to get a refund and they fully refunded them back in a matter of days. It was a big relief. It was so easy and quick to resolve.I have always enjoy every show I have seen here and will always support this place.

For less stress, arrive early! There are several spots and processes during entry to the venue that can slow patrons down and it is a fairly large space with multiple entrances, stairs, elevator banks, restrooms, refreshment kiosks, security checks, and ticket scans. This review is for the October 2024 performance of Les Miserables. I dropped my friend to the left of the main front stairs entrance to accommodate her limited mobility and then circled around and under to the parking garage, lower level. Entry went fairly smoothly and then we met back up, stopped to grab a cocktail and catch our breath and enjoy the views, and finally entered the hall and took our seats. Seats are minimally comfortable and overall are packed in very tight. It is impossible to fully enjoy a performance when fellow patrons on either side are bumping shoulders, elbows, and knees for 2 hours. Aisles are extremely narrow and feel precarious to navigate, especially the upper theater seating levels. Lines are also extremely long for the available restroom facilities. The performance was fantastic. Acting, singing, audio, set designs, and costumes were great.

I love the Kentucky Center. I have always been a fan of the Broadway Series and love to support them when I can. My tickets were at will call. It was very easy to access. The parking was easy as well using their garage. I had great seats and the sound was wonderful. I saw Moulin Rouge and it was fabulous. If you get a chance to check the center out. Please do. Lots to do.

I love this theater. Whiteny hall has a good amount of leg room, but the shoulders can be a bit tight for wider people. Every event I've gone to here has been a great time! The productions are amazing and the staff has always been helpful and friendly. I also love the large women's restroom. There are a good amount of stall to help prevent huge lines.

I have attended countless performances at this venue over the years, most recently for the Nutcracker at Christmastime. I always enjoy seeing the familiar modern art in the lobby and reminiscing about the many shows I have seen in both the large auditorium and the Bomhard theater. We are fortunate to have such a strong arts presence in Louisville. I have to confess that I was surprised and a little disappointed to realize that the Nutcracker no longer included a live orchestra for the music. I could not find out why or when this change occurred, but I really wish those organizing the ballet would consider changing it back.

We had an excellent time here at the Kentucky Center for the performing arts. We went here for a field trip and saw the orchestra. All of our children really enjoyed it and we had a great time.

Leaving the parking garage is horrific after an event. I seriously can't believe they don't have an operation in place to quickly move cars out of the parking garage. The performance was great and why ruin the experience with a traffic jam in the parking garage afterwards. Simply amazing. Sitting in same spot for 20 minutes so far. Not one car has moved. Never again.

Went to the KY Center for a volunteer orientation this weekend. It was a very well organized and through orientation which included a tour of the building which is massive and has four different event spaces ranging from 2,400 person seating in the Whitney, 600+ seating in the Bomhard, 139 seating capacity in the MeX, an experimental Black Box Theater along with the Mary Anderson Room, named in honor of the world famous actress who grew up in Louisville, which is used for meetings, seminars, receptions, etc. Parking is available in the garage for a fee, I think $12 but gives you easy access to the theater. There is food and bar service available in the theater as well. I will say that the staff who conducted the training were knowledgable and kind and stressed the importance of volunteers making patrons/guests for the center their main priority. So there should always be a smiling face (maybe mine) there to meet all your needs while you are a guest at the KY Center.

We went to the Kentucky Center 2 weeks ago to see CATS. We felt confident that their COVID restrictions would be followed and enforced. While I was away at intermission, a drunk anti-vaxxer started heckling my vulnerable husband about wearing an N95, reading off his phone out loud and was an obnoxious threat. The ushers & security did nothing. When I returned to my seat, my husband was upset and said something about the anti-vaxxer. I caught a glimpse of him with his mask hanging from his ear as the lights went down.My husband was so upset that he could not tell me what had happened until we got into the safety of our car. Now he refuses to go to any public event.I wrote an email to the Kentucky Center 2 weeks ago, explaining the situation and still have not received a response. If you are COVID-shy, I recommend staying away from this venue to reduce trauma.

It's #ThankYouThursday, and when I thought about writing a review of a business that I particularly have a lot of love for, the Kentucky Center came to top of mind. I have enjoyed so many great shows at The Kentucky Center. It's a huge part of Louisville for me. From Broadway shows to IdeaFestival to comedy to music acts and more, so much talent has been celebrated under this beautiful domed roof. Most recently, I saw The Office: A Musical Parody with two girlfriends. Along with being a fun show, it also provided a chance for the three of us to catch up. And along with great performances, this venue houses priceless art pieces. I was so sad to hear about the fire, which almost destroyed this Kentucky institution. Thankfully it looks like The Kentucky Center has emerged better than before through it. After these uncertain times are over and we can congregate and take in great performances again -- and that time will come! -- I will be buying tickets to shows at The Kentucky Center.
