Ordered chicken chow meal for two and after getting it home, I ended up getting sick after eating it. My wife only ate two bites and said it smelled funny. I ended up eating mine and most hers over three days. Then I had diarrhea for a couple weeks. The service was good and waited while they cooked to order. If I had gotten sick, I would had tried them again. I will not come back after my negative experience.

This is our 2nd visit to Kathmandu. First time was in the evening. It looks different during the day, but still colorful. We ordered take-out which included Onion Pakora, Gobi Manchurian, Garlic Naan, Paratha, Chicken Curry and Chicken Vindaloo.Saman was our friendly, patient order taker. There were 11 diners here at noon time. We got take out and food was ready in about 10 minutes. The owner/chef wasn't in today and it was evident. The Gobi Manchurian wasn't what I expected and wouldn't order it again. The Onion Pakora's were okay, not as good as last time. My Chicken Vindaloo and my wife's Chicken Curry were on the watery side, not thick gravy like last time. The Garlic Naan was okay, not as good as last time. The Paratha was very greasy, not what I expected, but it worked out when I baked it for leftovers. Kathmandu was my favorite Indian/Nepalese restaurant, but on this visit not so much. There is another Indian restaurant closer to home I haven't tried that will get a chance to be my favorite next time I choose to order Indian food. I think I will try Kathmandu again sometime, but call ahead to ensure Purna, the owner is cooking. He is the Best.

It was clearly my own fault, I chose spicy but dang, it was too spicy to enjoy! I would recommend that they share the levels of "spiciness" on their website so others don't make this mistake! I will give them another try as the menu is interesting but I will lay off the spice!

Amazing selection of cuisine. The vegetarian options are spot on and the paneer korma was a favorite of mine.

Looking for a taste of authentic Nepali cuisine? Look no further than @Kathmandu Kitchen and Bar! I enjoyed the takeout yesterday, marking my 5th visit this year, and each time leaves me craving more! From the delicious Chicken momo to the flavorful goat curry, chicken chowmein, and chicken biryani, every bite transports me back to my home country- Kathmandu, Nepal.Despite traveling 45 minutes, the experience was well worth it. Personally, I can't get enough of their chicken momo and chicken chowmein - they are delicious! I chose mild spice so I could taste all the flavors without it being too spicy.Lastly, the food prices are very reasonable, and portions are very generous. Also, the owners are amazing - a Nepali couple who put a lot of love into their food. Their warmth and hospitality are evident in every bite.Do yourself a favor and give Kathmandu Kitchen and Bar a try - you won't regret it! Here are the pictures of my food.#AuthenticNepaliCuisine #HiddenGem #MustTryFood #SupportLocalOwners

This place was on a side street. You would have to specifically be looking for this place to get to it. The service was pretty slow. After we ordered, the food seemed like it took forever to come out. We went on a Monday and maybe that's a slower day for them. The food was delicious though. I got the chicken vindaloo with medium spice. It was really good. The kid got chicken wings and fries. He said his was really good too. Said it tasted like Kroger chicken lol which he likes. He got his way before ours. I would go again but hopefully they are faster. I felt like we was in there forever.

Oh my god! I just had the best chicken chow mein of my life! It was out of this world. If you love spicy food, I highly recommend trying chicken chow mein. It's made street style like the ones you get in Kathmandu, Nepal. Amazingly flavorful!! Must try. I also got chicken momo which was good too. The prices are reasonable and the food came out promptly. I highly recommend this place.

A very unassuming building. The inside is a bit shabby. But we went there to eat some good food. Once we stepped inside we realized we were in for something different. The person who waited on us was a very friendly guy. The menu has many offerings so it took us a while to make our choices. Their appetizers were yummy. Our shared main course was enjoyable.

Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala were excellent! We went with 1/5 spice and will be trying 2/5 next time. Garlic naan was EXCELLENT. Service was quick and very kind.

We made a find. A Nepali restaurant near the Wallitsch Nursery in Louisville which was our primary destination. We each had a Paneer dish. My wife ordered spinach paneer and I ordered a cheese paneer. Delicious!. The regular hot tea on the menu turned out to be a spiced tea similar to what we would call Masala tea. Pleasant surprise. The Naan bread was good. I also had a scrumptious Mango fruit juice. Total bill including a 20% tip about $50. Seems to be a family run place. Nice staff. We will return.
